I think I was the only one who said that, and for the record,

I didn't say mage-side made Cullen angsty. I said I felt Cullen came across as a lighter person on the Templar side due to the absence of the nemesis quest making it seem like he'd already dealt with those ghosts and put them behind him, and as a heavier person on the mage side because his fixation on resolving past issues with Samson, Red Lyrium etc permeated the greatest part of the interactions with him through the second act, setting a different tone for his development post-Kirkwall. From one side, it seemed like he'd already resolved his issues and was looking forward to what else life has to give. From the other, he was halfway through, still working through his issues right there and still a long ways from the more serene, at peace with himself man he comes across as from Templar-side.
 
All with the caveat that it was my perception of how the character came across to me, after having played both sides, and that neither characterization was better or worse than the other, just different. I did not like how Cullen came across throughout the Samson quest, but that's the least of my issues with that quest, with what it did to a character I like, and with the sudden wild tonal shifts it causes in Cullen in regards to the Templars at large. I'll be the first to admit that my overall distaste for the Before The Dawn questline as a whole may have colored my views of Cullen through the mage side. Eh, it probably did, I disliked it enough that it's one of the biggest reasons why I don't really wanna play through mage side again - so I don't have to go through what that quest does to Samson and Cullen again.
 
In any case, the whole different perception of Cullen from either side was only my personal impression. Feel free to take it with a mountain of salt, and disregard if you didn't feel the same way.

Ah, I see, I guess I remembered it wrong then. I was mostly worried that I was missing scenes.

And my update is finished so I'll go see if it breaks the PS4 any less than the PC version.

Will he mention her if the Warden's dead in my PT? I'm making the most angsty combination possible for my Lady Mage Trevelyan. Leliana had said very sadly that her lover (the Amell Lady Warden) died during the Blight if you asked her at Haven.

I have no idea about that, I don't have a dead warden import sorry.

Yeap, both Leliana and Cullen mention her. We were just sorta hoping that they'd both talk about her together at one point, haha. But again, when Leliana met Cullen for the first time it was under terrible circumstances (she would have seen him at one of the lowest points in his life) so I imagine you could explain it by saying she avoids talking to him about her out of sympathy.

Yeah I realised that after I posted lol. Yeah it would have been nice for them to talk about him/her together.

 

True, either that or she wasn't at the circle tower for that mission, there were pts I never took her.

I'm trying to remember if he mentioned anything much about my Warden being dead since Cybele was an US Warden. He might simply have talked about her in past tense and mentioned regretting how he treated her, but I think he does that with a living Warden, too?

Patch on PS4 caused Cullen to disapper in the post game bit! How dare they make him vanish!

No idea, don't know if the titles were chosen for meaning or just because "hey, swords fits Cullen because commander of the armies!!1" 

I was more curious why he was Knight and not King, but it looks like the Inquisitor is King of Swords. Also Death as well it seems.

I can't believe this bug fix made everything so bad! I don't know what to expect on my system, but I won't be installing this "FIX" until I know it's safe to. I've learned to manage my problematic version of the game with Patch 1.

Apparently the patch is...well screwing up the textures...or at the very least the game seems to only load the low graphic setting even if you can run the Ultra.  I will be avoiding it until it is hotfixed.  I will just stay in off line mode and not shut down my computer.

Strange generally Bioware is pretty good with patches

Yeah, I agree. When you make Cole more human he says something like

I know we only know of maybe one or two instances on screen where Cullen seems to be annoyed at what Cole says (like when you first meet him at Haven if you sided with the mages) but offscreen I imagine Cole has sensed a lot of Cullen's inner anguish and has tried to help. It probably turned out  a bit like how Dorian reacts to Cole's "helping". ;-;

 

But at the same time I imagine Cullen doesn't blame Cole for trying even if it makes him really uncomfortable. I'm actually pretty happy that Cullen doesn't really say anything negative about Cole otherwise. Like how Vivienne flat out calls him a demon and disapproves if you let him join, lol. Despite Cullen's fear of bad magic and demons he seems okay with Cole's presence. I hope we get to see more positive interaction between good elements of the Fade and people in the physical world in the future. I think it was a fascinating revelation that

spirits are just as easily corrupted as humans are and that demons are the result, as you find out with Solas' personal quest. Really goes to show that both sides have a lot to learn from one another.

Same here  I hope this won't screw me over... I've really only had the issue with CTDs due to conflicts with NVidia drivers, but was able to run the game smoothly on high settings.

Personally I find that this is something that makes his character even more interesting. He's not the "already 100% perfect" character, but a growing one that aims toward the better but still retains some faults.

Agreed.  He is struggling but still trying. (like a lot of us)

I especially like that Cullen does it on his own...he doesn't need the Quizzy to push him to get better. Encourage when lyrium withdrawal has him down sure, we all need support. But the idea and wanting to be better are all his.

So... I have played DA from origins and up to Inquisition. I intentionally didn't look for teasers for characters for Inquisition so I can be surprised myself.  I mean Leliana, Cassandra and Varric is to be expected but boom! here comes Cullen xD

 

And to be honest, I never really thought of Cullen to be one of the advisors or even to be considered as one of the important characters.  I was too caught up w/ Alistair and getting pissed off at Anders to actually pay attention to him lol.  Now in inquisition as I was trying to look for a good dude to romance with, I was about too choose Dorian ( who can't resist that moustache?) but then later on found out he's not into women so the only dude left for me is Cullen (as much as its funny to be w/ Bull xD). And boooyyyy, I'm glad I did. He was wonderfully written here and so adorably awkward that I never regret my decision since. My bestfriend who hasnt played any DA games saw me playing while trying to romance him and she was squelling her head off lol I mean seriously... it was adorable xD
