Just had a depressing, if needed, I feel, conversation about abusive relationships, so...! I need happiness and fluffiness, and thus I ask for Cullen/Inquisitor headcanons! Do you have any and what are they?
- Trevelyan has always had a thing for a man in uniform, something she confided in Josephine when she told her about her crush on a Templar at the Ostwick Circle. With that in mind, Josie made sure that the unforms for the Halamshiral ball made Cullen look absolutely dashing, as she secretly ships them both.
- A female Hawke and female Inquisitor bonded over their mutual appreciation for the dishy ex-Templar and stories of his heroics at Kirkwall. For his part, Cullen quickly learned to avoid the tavern during Hawke's stay at Skyhold, due to the sound of furious giggling from the rafters whenever he stopped by for a pint at the end of the day.
- The Inquisitor became a huge fan of Swords and Shields after blackmailing convincing Cassandra to lend her a copy or two. Part of this stems from her learning that there exists a curly-haired Templar within the series, who happens to get numerous romance scenes with the various female characters...

Ok, this way beyond the scope of this thread and has potential to get very ugly very fast, so being as brief as possible to avoid turning this into one of those threads: bending a straight character's sexuality to acommodate for the lack of representation in media is completely different from bending the sexuality of a character representing a minority to acommodate for a majority that is already well-catered to.
Making Cullen bi in a fic or headcanon hurts literally nobody - straight men continue to be the majority of men represented in Dragon Age, straight and bi women continue to be well served in number and variety of love interests available to them. Making Dorian straight or bi changes everything - it erases one of the very few representations of gay men we have in the universe, and takes away from gay male players one of the very few stories built to cater specially to them. We don't have the right to take Dorian away from his intended role of representation, but we also don't have to right to claim that Cullen's straightness is a rare precious asset that needs to be preserved. It's not, and it doesn't. There are straight men by the motherlode in this universe, Cullen sometimes kissing boys in someone's headcanon doesn't damage their representation, nor does it change the ratio of male characters avaliable to female characters, compared to male ones.
So while the sexuality-bending of Dorian is problematic (at least as much as the whitewashing of Isabela in DA2), and probably does need to be discussed in his thread, I don't think it's anyone's place in this thread here to police the wish fulfillment fantasies of gay male players who are already scrapping for bits of representation in the game. We joke about the lack of a knightly/righteous gay love interest, but the reality is, there really are none in the series. If gay players need to look to Alistair and Cullen and bend the rules a bit to get the same opportunities that female characters have had in plenty through the series, let them. It's not hurting anybody, and doesn't take anything away from the character or his female fans. There's plenty of Cullen to go around for everybody, even if some of us unfortunately can only have him in headcanon-land.
Okay, my last post on this subject before the matter got out of hand: in my personal opinion, being gay or straight does not imply anything on majority or minority that needs to be preserved. It's not OK to sacrifice minority in front of majority, but it's also not OK to change the majority to cater the minority. Dorian's gay but it's not all that he is. Cullen's straight but it's not all that he is. Let the majority be as it is, and the minority be as it is. Don't change anything.
I agree that fanfics & headcannons won't hurt anyone.

I would like this if I could! Sadly I have reached my quota.
Your Inquisitor sounds like an adorable babe. c:
Yep I understand too. The more disturbing though are celebity pairings and fans that sent hate/threats to canon couples for breaking their pairing (sadly have seen this happen quite lot).
And what comes to Naruto..

Big spoilers from the last arcs of the mangaPlease when did they throw that in at the last minute? I mean seriously But meh don't care much anymore because it basicly what the writer wonts you can love the paring to bits just don't ****** off the writer.

- The Inquisitor can't ever look Cullen in the eye when they're all gathered round the war table, because of What They Did There - it just makes her want to giggle!

Ha, I think I may be one of the few Cullenites who won't be moving on to the Barris thread.
In no small part to the fact that I really don't want my DA4 canon LI to be a Chantry boy.
I'm sorry for you.
good lord you lolI think I want a Chantry boy love interest in DA4 out of tradition now. It would be so weird for the fourth hero in my canon world state to suddenly not be corrupting awkward church boys like her predecessors.
It's better if you put it in a spoiler tag.

Lol no need I kind of liked both parings just not the Sasuke x Sakura paring I just saw it as an emotional abusive Relationship. She deserves better than that, after all, and I dislike Sasuke. I think she would be better off with some random dude than him.

A bit of advice, Which quest should I do first, Wicked Eyes or Here Lies the Abyss?
I recommend Here Lies the Abyss.
The narration feels beter imo.

It's really up to you! I personally did Wicked Eyes, because HELL YEAH BALL. Narratively, though, I think Here Lies the Abyss should come first, seeing talking to Hawke leads to it, and you talk to him pretty much as soon as you get Skyhold if you choose to. >.>
I don't think it really a matters, but personally I think doing here lies the abyss first just feels better order plot wise and Cullen romance wise. :-)
