I don't rely on movies as being the real version as such I rely much more on the manga for my infomation. The movies as no canon interactions based off of the manga. They just add stuff too like filler arcs and regions, so the movie and animi are somewhat mixed of canon infomation and non canon. Unlike the bioware comics. If the manga says is that she got pregent when he left that's what I go bye.

The last movie is completely canon though.   

If you want a special cute scene with your LI, just do Here Lies the Abyss first.

Thank you. There's nothing wrong with AUs (and some people were very disappointed with the race gating as well). There are lots of these I wouldn't read because I personally disagreed with the changes, but I don't object to people coping with their disappointment this way.

Yeah, it is understandable not being comfortable with some of them and for other people, being comfortable with all of it in general. It is all personal preference. But if we are going to say people shouldn't be writing AU's where Cullen is bi then people shouldn't be writing them where he is attracted to dwarfs and qunari. You can't just label one of them as being wrong and not the others when they all go against cannon Cullen. 

 

Maybe it is because I have written some non-cannon romances myself (very questionable ones actually) and the last thing I would want is to jump on a thread and see people saying that is wrong. Whelp, I will just go delete my fics now. As I said, it is all personal preference. Sometimes you get an idea in your head and it just needs to be released no matter what it is and I am not just talking about peoples fics, but art as well. This for example:

Cullen/Anders, not my thing at all! Nope, nope, nope! But man, that is an incredible piece of art that makes we want to hug them! Imagine if this was never created because people bagged the concept of those two characters together? I couldn't even imagine it. It inspires all the feels!

Yeah, I have come across some fics about the guys from One Direction and being paired with their siblings. Have to say that it shocked me a little but my only real issue is that Imagine if they saw that?! How awkward. It is all fiction, but I do see writing about real people a little differently especially when it concerns that.

Ah you've done the "lock in" with "start romance with Cassandra" things? Well that LI special scene should trigger then if you go to Wicked Eyes. I don't know personally, I've always do the Here Lies the Abyss first.

You'll get the scene anyway, yeah. I'm in favor of doing Abyss first and Wicked later, though, because Abyss is such a rollercoaster of emotions, and Wicked is much lighter and can be a good fun way to unwind from such a long and heavy quest afterwards.

As for mods... just a reminder that these are not people. They are characters. Pixels. If I can change them in a fiction, a modder can change them in the game. I don't like white Isabela. I think very little of someone who downloads and romances a white Isabela mod. That says a lot about the person who made the mod and the person who uses the mod. But it doesn't hurt Isabela. Why? Because Isabela does not exist lol

I have read some as well, it's pretty popular. I have read only AU's though and somehow the people there didn't feel like themselves.. they felt like characters that were created from base of celebrity. Well those were pretty good fics.

Oh, I understand that, lol. They aren't real but the race thing rubs me wrong even more! Like, just why? I actually cant wrap my head around why someone would do that? It befuddles me. I have never seen it but I have heard of the Isabela white-washing.

 

Do you want to know what my real concern is? The fact that I have just gone through the prologue on nightmare, made an ass out of myself and am now embarrassed that Cullen saw my Inquisitor being completely useless. What does that say about me? It makes no sense! I have officially lost it!

So at 66 hours I have concluded my second playthrough. I am not a completionist. XD Got a whole bunch of Solas content right at the end, I guess I finally pushed his approval high enough for the friendship quests to trigger, lol.

Now to compose a new world state for my next playthrough. Where I will finally give in and romance Cullen. With a warrior who will be Templar. Oh my.

Why, because they are racist as f*** You know, people like to defend the whole "Cullen only likes elves and humans" by saying, hey some people only like partners of certain races, doesn't mean they're racist! But I think we universally agree that using a white Isabela mod because you aren't attracted to THE SAME MODEL, just a darker skin color, well, that is, shall we say, racist lol

I will do my completionist run at some point but I wanted to get some of the romances done first.  So I understand them better...or they don't drive me crazy wondering..Josie next for a male warrior (just finished Cassandra's)...and Cullen for my female warrior.  I haven't decided which will be the Nightmare run.

There'll always be fanfics about Dorian/Female Character or Cullen/Male character pairing in any case. I can't say that I'm not enjoying that fanfics/artwork. It just feels so wrong somehow.

It feels wrong to me every time I see a picture or story with Cullen and a woman. Why b/c I've daydreamed about him being with my character since joining this thread two years ago. But I hold it inside and smile and "like" the pictures posted here and read the fanfics and everything because I care about you guys and I KNOW how important Cullen is to everyone, not just me. What I feel about the character, I know others are feeling the same thing, and it warms my heart to see fans expressing the same love I feel.

 

But I don't get to enjoy him the way the majority of his fans do, and it cuts me up inside every time I see him with someone else lol Seriously, it is like seeing the guy you like out on a date with another person. I felt the same thing when I was in the Fenris thread and the majority of posters posted FemHawke x Fenris. It felt so wrong and made me feel icky inside. Why is that? Because I'm a FAN, short for fanatic lol and I, like so many of us, grow so attached to these words and pixels that you start to feel like they're a real person and wrap your whole life up in them. Everyone posting regularly in this thread is a raving fanatic, admit it and embrace it
