Yeah it's the sexualities thing. I couldn't fall asleep until almost 5am last night. I think I need a few days to not think about the issue and just focus on other things, I guess?? I'm on Spring Break, so it'll be really hard to avoid the BSN lol but we'll see how well I do. I mean the trailer really was awesome, and I should be able to be excited about the game regardless of the romance situation.

for me it's the set sexuality thing and the npc romance thing. and although i hate to admit it, it is --surprisingly--putting a damper on my enthusiasm.

but i hope you don't go. maybe it will seem better when/if we get sum more detail and clarity abt what BW really has in mind for all this.

Huh. This is interesting from that thing eluvianix just posted.

"You emerge as the lone survivor of the magical explosion that creates the Breach, the massive hole in the sky at the heart of the trouble. At first, the people of Thedas won’t be sure what to make of you. Are you responsible for the explosion? Are you a chosen one sent to right this wrong? Are you simply lucky?

The circumstances of the explosion add a religious undertone to some people’s interpretation of what has occurred. With the Chantry a largely human religion, playing as an elf, dwarf, or Qunari will further complicate how you’re received by the masses."

To be honest, I'm somewhat ambivalent on the issue. On the one hand, I am glad that they are taking the steps to actually talk about sexuality in a more meaningful way. It bites that not everyone is gonna get the choice of who they wanted to romance.

I am glad for whoever I can get as a romance option. If Cullen isn't an option, I'd be just as happy with Dorian.

I thought you wanted Grey Warden first, then Iron Bull and then Dorian..

You're such a .... ;) :P

I'm thinking this is what results in Leliana's concept of bowing to the Inquisitor.

Well, that does it then. I'm gonna play as one of those 3... probably an Elf, since I look closer to that than a Dwarf or Qunari, lol.

Hmm my only problem is that Cullen isn't companion. To me that's important than romances, now I can't drag him along all the time : /

Oh God, if you're a human female, do you think the masses will think you're Andrastre reborn???

... Wait.

The first two who I wanted, not actually who I thought was gonna get tapped for LI status. I had always guessed they were truly aiming for Solas and Dorian. Cullen's announcement was a nice surprise.

I'm aiming for a nice muscled Qunari male mage for my first trip.

Did you notice how the Elven girl (Sera, probably) isn't built like your average Elf, she's much curvier.

Hmm Interesting so my elf is probably going to have a hard time as the inquisitor since elves and particularly the dalish are not trusted by Andrastian societies...I like it though the more challenging the better!

Indeed. She's also tall. She also has really big feet lol

It might be a result of City Elf upbringing versus the Dalish are more thin and lithe.

Mmm... maybe. I guess I was thinking that seeing someone step right out of the Fade... if that has religious connotations, are they expecting that we just traveled from the Black City or something? I mean, our characters have gone conscious to the Fade quite a bit (ahem... despite that being a rare thing to happen...ahem); every DA property so far, in fact.  :P

I'll be definitely going for a rogue, female qunari first time around. Unless Cullen is gay, then probably a male qunari. His name will be Biscuit instead of Cookie, though.

I'm planning for a female elf archer, who pals around with Iron Bull and Dorian/DHMG for her usual companions. Poor Cass is really going to be left behind a lot in my game, she's very stoic and serious. It'd be fun to hear her and Varric's banter though.

I'm probably going for Elven Mage, just to make things tricky... unless I can't get the Elf to look like me for my first experience, in which case it'll have to be sh!tty human.
