My favourite part was when my Elidri shouted at him in elven then punched him in the face. Awesome scene.

As for Blackwall, I haven't been able to trigger any cutscene conversations with him at all. Except the one just after coming to Skyhold, I believe. But after that, (and before that iirc in Haven too), nada.

Oh my Goodness, how did he tick off Elidri SO MUCH to punch him? I haven't seen that scene!

DId you get crash too when talking with Blackwall? I just deleted one character because I crash to desktop everytime I spoke to Blackwall (still in Haven). All save files did that...

No crashes. Just the regular few options that lead to investigates or something. No actual cutscenes with him.

Potato Cat, how does Solas react to an Elven girl inquisitor? Is he nicer than normally he is, or colder, or just the same?

Are they calling each other with Hah'ren & Da'len?

Lol, don't worry. Solas did that to me just after getting to Skyhold in one play-through. I really don't know what went wrong.

Lol,my quizie gets along well with pretty much everyone (Solas literally approves of everything she does).Even Sera even though she had a pretty heated argument with my Lavellan after the temple of mythal.
Needless to mention that the Iron Bull turned out to be my bff.

Nah, most companion & advisor get along very well with my Quizzy without huge effort.

Except Josie, she got fumes out of her ears once because I sided with Leliana at Josie's personal quest. She forgave her & gave a looooong lecture though (oh wow Josie I never imagined her doing that in her youth!!!)

Hmmm, quick youtube searching and I'm thinking it's actually two different scenes. If you side with the Templars (and ally with them?) you can punch him. And I'm assuming the only thing needed for the elven argument is being an elf and low approval.

Here's the punch scene with a qunari. He says the same thing to a qunari as to a Dalish and I'm pretty sure my Elidri chose the same options.

I didn't get that punch scene, I sided with templars & ally with them. Guess that it's all approval base...

Definitely not. But he hates me. I think at one point early on he may have called me lethallan? I may be imagining it. We had our first argument in the prologue after all. Now he's just kind of passive aggressive. I think I exhausted the fighting scenes.

Woooooooow. I never would have thought Solas would be that dickish! He was on pretty good terms with my rogue boy, and Dashiell saved the Templars without disbanding them. He might not have agreed with it, precisely, but it never had that attitude behind it!

Also I'm surprised Solas has teeth after getting punched by a qunari.

Oh yeah he's super mean. Like I said, first argument was in the prologue.

Perhaps that dialogue is reserved for qunari and elves then? Maybe? With elves getting the extra argue in elven scene. I need to find that and see what they actually say.

What argument do you have with him in the prologue out of curiosity? I know he can say some dickish things about the human race in party banters, but everyone has mean things to say about the humans. I was kind of sad Dashiell could never respond to that, because he would have snarkily agreed.

I'm surprised to hear he's that mean, though. Dashiell was getting approval with him left and right just for asking questions/taking snarky dialogue options. If it really is an elf/qunari thing, then I'm surprised he's a romance option at all.

Spoiler

Elidri definitely started that fight though. She said the 'you know to be wary option' and then iirc Solas said the Dalish were thugs or something. In my defence, Elidri would be wary of an apostate who knows about the Fade and the first convo didn't really give me option to express that.

He's only mean towards the inquisitor if you have low enough approval, like pretty much everyone.
My Lavellan also seems to gain approval from him very easily,he calls her lethalan and told her that he respects her.I think you can also punch poor Dorian and literally knock him on the floor. But it never happened in my playthrough because he also likes my inquisitor.

I remmeber playing male elf and having a coversation with solas. when asking him something he went all "arent you the ones that know everything" on me. and ofc Dorian whispering " rather uncalled for" from  behind a bush. Good times

Solas, pls.

I'm surprised the character that supposedly has a battle cry of 'it's more complicated than that!' turned out to be so racist against Dalish elves and qunari. I mean humans it's kind of expected, but that's a bit surprising too now that I think about it, because again 'it's more complicated than that!' views he's supposed to have. I wonder if he acts that way towards dwarves as well.

Punch Dorian. That thought hurts my heart.

Dashiell would punch anyone who dares to punch his boo. I'm actually sad that was never a scene now, actually, because my boy appears so easy going and snarky and friendly, but threaten his boyfriend? You'd get all that hidden rage and frustration over how he's been forced into a role and life he doesn't want! No one is gonna threaten the one thing and person he chose for himself~

As much as I would say I dislike him as a person, as a character, I like that he's pretty hypocritical. Much more interesting imo. And fun to punch.

Aww a Dorian punch?! I kinda wished I'd bothered to at least try to think of a reason why my magic and Fade fearing elf would recruit a Tevinter mage now.

I wouldn't call him downright racist against the Dalish, more like disappointed with the way they choose to do things. My inquisitor did call him out on it though, eventually he admits that he might have misjudged them(again if approval is high enough) even if he's not romanced.
I think he has another reason to not be very fond of them as well, but this is more related to something else we learn about him. It's considered a spoiler though so I won't say what.

It's weird but I'm not surprise at his remark about Dalish people not considering non-Dalish elves "their people". I personally don't interpret that as an argument, not even him being racist actually.

Meta gaming, in TME we saw how Mihris' clan react to non-Dalish elves, in DA2 when Hawke met Merrill's clan for the first time & you bring Fenris it's the same thing. It must be one attitude that many Dalish clan adopt. Solas just recognize this. It's not that he said that out of spite alone.

Hmm... it's something to ponder...

lol I am either silly or just really in love with Cullen umm the game. I went and ordered ANOTHER copy of the game, physical this time just to avoid the patch. The hotfix made things a little better but ugh I want my forced ultra mesh and smooth moving and synced cutscenes.

It is an interesting character flaw! Just not one I expected.

True enough! It's good that you get to argue it out with him, though. It would be kind of disappointing if there was no option to argue about it.

Holy cow, it has been a while. We're almost at 4000 now! I'll be looking forward to the content on this : )

So, I finally finished a full playthrough and I did about every possible thing you could do. Every mission that came up, every landmark ... I have a feeling that I missed out on a whole bunch of party banter though. Anyway, this game had some of the same magic as origins for me. It's that thing that number 2 just lacked. It was worth waiting for. I really hope we get DLC though, because I have so many more questions now. lol I was surprised that we really didn't get that much insight into how Corypheus got where he was. Also, I'm extremely curious to find out more about red lyrium (or lyrium in general) after Varric's personal mission.

So happy/grateful that we had the opportunity to romance Cullen. He deserved to finally have a little happiness. Lovely story. The first kiss scene had me laughing out loud because of course that would happen to him when he was trying to make his move. The awkward and nuanced animations were wonderful. I enjoyed the dialogue about the F!Mage Warden as well.

I'm minutely sad about the missing Lion helm. I wanted to see that in action since I really liked it when I first saw the stills. Also, it made his "armour mane" make sense. SO many great moments. Thank you to the animators and writer and Greg and everyone <3
