Can you tell us if he's sweet and goofy like Alistair? Or more smooth and experienced like Zevran? (I don't think anyone is as smooth and experienced like Zev, except for maybe Isabela, but hey... You never know!)
If you're talking romantically, I definitely couldn't say. My interactions tonight were much more business, but he had a decent display of wit/sass towards my Inquisitor a few times ![]()

Didn't he meet him within an hour and a half though? Might be something!
I debug skipped parts of the game that I had already played through (a lot).
The timing doesn't mean very much, though I'll mention that I spent the entire time not fighting at all.

I am utterly stoked by what I played today. Utterly. I usually work a 2 or 3 late days a week, until 9 PM or so. Unfortunately I didn't get started on playing until just after 9 and just wanted to make sure it was working fine and I'd pick it up in the morning. I played until after midnight while at the behest of many people on Twitter teasing me to go home.
If I didn't have responsibility, I'd probably still be playing the game right now. ![]()

Out of curiosity, are you going to play the whole game once it is released, from beginning to end? I was wondering if it isn't boring since you already know parts of it. I did a little bit of QA a few years ago and I never bought any of of the games that I tested. I guess excessive use can kill the suspense.
I never have with DAO or DA2 because I played it so much during development.
I am not in that situation, at this time, however. But we'll see if that changes between now and release. My job doesn't usually entail much "playing the proper game" but towards the end of projects everybody spending time in the final game is very, very valuable.
Right now, though, the answer to your question is yes. And I will likely Lets Play it.

I have the utmost faith in you, sir.
Well at least someone else will get burned in effigy with me! ![]()
First you want to flirt with every single person in the game, THEN you want to kill off precious romances?! You are practically begging for retribution there, mister! For shame! *wags finger*

Thanks! My daughters got me hooked on the DA games last summer when I mentioned I wanted to try something besides a MMORPG (they start grilling me on what I want in new games whenever XMas and birthday approaches). I love the depth of the stories and characters and I got a kick out of finding the inspiration in Arthurian and romance literature for some events and people. I'm particularly interested in Cullen and Leliana in DA:I because it's fun to see characters mature and change.
Welcome!

Don't forget about the big explosion at the start of the game. Cullen could very well be mourning the Divine and the people who died with her.
You guys are a bad influence. I totally thought that that said "mounting."

Evidently there's a post that is being flagged as malware? I am not sure which post specifically, but is it possible for anyone to link me directly to the post in question?
My page numbers are very different than yours (it keeps track of hidden posts) but if someone can point me to the post, I can go all surgical strike on the culprits and modify them!

Quick note that i've locked the Cullenites, Assemble! temp thread and provided a link back to this one. It'll slowly drop off the threads list over time, but in case anyone needs to reference a post on there here's the link where you can find it: http://forum.bioware...nites-assemble/
(now back to your regularly scheduled Cullen programming)

Just as a general comment, please use discretion as to whether or not you should publicly share someone's tweets from their private twitter account without their permission. It's typically put as private because they do not want to draw attention to themselves nor do they want what they tweet to be seen by unexpected parties.

Cullen is still in Ferelden at the time of the Battle of Denerim, which is more less six months after Hawke arrives in Kirkwall. Hawke only meets him once their year in servitude is up, though, so if we assume Cullen was immediately transferred to Kirkwall after the archdemon was defeated, and place the first time Hawke meets him immediately at the beginning of Act 1, that gives Cullen about six-eight months in Kirkwall before they first meet Hawke. You can make it even longer by pushing the start of Hawke's involvement with the Order to very late in Act 1.
He did get promoted to Knight-Captain soon after he got to Kirkwall, yes. One possible scenario (what I'm using in my own fic anyway) is that Cullen and Samson roomed together in the first few months he was in Kirkwall, up until Samson was kicked out, and soon after Cullen got his promotion. Another is that Cullen might even have already been promoted by the time Samson left, he just didn't have his own room yet because the acommodations in the Gallows were precarious and there wasn't enough room for individual quarters until the one he shared with Samson was vacated one less bed. We don't know much about that either way, so it's all up to interpretation.
I can't speak for some of the other details, but my thinking in Before the Dawn was that when Cullen arrived in Kirkwall, he was quartered with Samson for about a month or so ('quarters' meaning a room that was part of the larger templar barracks). Knight-Commander Meredith thought that being around a more senior and experienced templar might help settle Cullen down after what happened in Ferelden. It wasn't long after that Samson's letter-smuggling came to light, and his lyrium addiction couldn't be ignored / covered up any longer; so he was kicked out and Cullen placed elsewhere.
So, yes. Not Meredith's best idea, but that's not exactly a high bar. ![]()
