This is what happened to me. It felt like a week without any companion interaction. Even from my boyfriend.
Next playthrough I think I'll skip all the random fetch and carry quests.
I haven't done one full completionist playthrough simply for the reason of the slowdown in story content. What I have done, is fully clear at least one area per playthrough, so that I can get all content, just spread out amongst multiple characters.
that's what I did, too. And half the time he actually did sound annoyed! LOLIKR.. I think I spent more time running back just for a kiss every other quest, cause you know, you gotta get something lol
Bet by the end Cullen was like....'Here she comes again' *sigh* * rolls eyes *
I still haven't work out the best pacing for the companion/advisor content. On the one hand I like how you get bombarded with cutscenes and interaction when you move into Skyhold, but by doing it all at once you end up with less when you're running around grinding and doing side quests.
I'm still figuring out the pacing of the main quest itself in relation to side quests, companion content and map clearing for my "perfect playthrough," as it were. Things like, figuring Cassandra's "have I done the right thing" fits better between talking to Alexius and going after Lucius rather than right at the start, Blackwall's "you have the world at your feet" needs to be postponed to Skyhold because it doesn't fit Haven, etc. It's weird to have to min/max and theorycraft the pacing of the story, because left to its own it kinda goes all over the place.
^ What frustrated me was asking Cullen if he knew Varric as he was from Kirkwall, then running to Varric and asking where he was from. Ok, try not to do that next time lol.
Well, I just got to Skyhold on my second playthough romancing Solas then will have my secondary elf romance Cullen.
Cullen stole my Solas romance....damn that ex Templar and his sexyness.

I guess were all still getting to grips with this open world thing. With Origins I'd tend to stay in one area and do all the quests there before moving onto another, which doesn't work so well if you try to do that in DAI because you can't do half of it until you level up anyway.
I definitely felt the side quests (mostly) tied in better with the main story in DA:O, maybe because you were kinda stumbling across them as your Warden made his/her way to wherever it is that the main quest dictates that you go.

When you do figure that out can you share it? I was ready to do What Pride Had Wrought at level 15. I still hadn't visited many of the places on the map and the war table was crazy full. It's way too easy to get to the final few main storyline missions and miss a ton of side content. I know there's a good way to do it, but I just haven't managed to figure it out yet. And the Cullen romance can get started super fast and then just kind of straggle along while you're lollygagging in the Western Approach for days. So I need to pace that better, too.
giggles I am trying my best not to romance him by not talking to him much.Cullen stole my Solas romance....damn that ex Templar and his sexyness.
My problem is that I don't know how long we can leave those interactions before you end up locking yourself out of their content, I don't like to leave it too long just in case, lol.

LOL Do you run past him with your eyes shut? Not going to talk to you, not going to talk to you. Cause I tried that and failed lol

Cullen is very much the Alistair of DAI in his way of managing to completely and utterly woo you to the point of never being able to successfully romance anyone else ever again, LOL!
Pretty much just talk with him a bit to get his quest and stuff and then try not forcing myself to not click the flirlt dialog line. My elf has her eyes set on the cute and dorky elf Solas because he is Spock in elf forum.LOL Do you run past him with your eyes shut? Not going to talk to you, not going to talk to you. Oh I envy that willpower lol I tried to save just before talking to him because I knew I would click it, I did and never reloaded lol
When you fight demons in real life you have to have strong will power lol. Yeah is a paranormal investigator.Oh I envy that willpower lol I tried to save just before talking to him because I knew I would click it, I did and never reloaded lol

Also being able to ask Varric about Hawke before meeting Hawke...

Slightly OT, but you mention the Warden and how s/he just sort of stumbled their way through the storyline, being new to the job and all; it felt very organic and I could often say that I felt uncomfortable as a Warden and wanted to go back home, etc. I really, really dislike how DAI thrusts us into the spotlight and our character simply accepts that and just sort of comfortably slips into the role of commander of the inquisition forces. Like, I am a nobody, a Dalish hunter who's not even Andrastrian, and I just smile peacefully and ascend my little throne and pass judgment on people I don't even care about. Very infuriating aspect of the game.

This is my problem, in both playthroughs I've tended to stick to an area until I've completed all the quests, which then leaves me majorly over-levelled in some of the other areas. Like, take the Hinterlands for example? I tend to leave there, after the first 15 hours of the game at about level 10+, having completed pretty much all that there is to have been done in that area (even before going to Val Royeaux).
Part of my reluctance to mix-and-match various areas in my first playthrough was because I didn't know what levels most of the mobs were at? It'd be nice if in a future patch, they included a little description for what the recommended levels the areas were, like with the main quest?

Yep and both are painfully unavailable to my character >.< THE WORST sort of deja vu ![]()
