Yeah, I wish there had been more chances to establish our Inquisitor's thoughts and feelings about being the Inquisitor. Sure, people would ask occasionally but there was never any moments where I felt like my Inquisitor was just winging it or that I was failing in my mission... I guess cos we were able to stump Corypheus at every turn lol. I dunno, it's hard to put my finger on exactly feels wrong about it but I just don't feel like the Inquisitor ever becomes fully actualised as a character in his/her own right.
Interesting. I guess it really depends on how you visualized your Inquisitors as actual characters. For me, I was able to completely able to self-insert for my first and am having a lot of fun roleplaying in my second, w/ Lugh.
For my Gale, the first one, I was able to completely act as if I put myself in the game (albeit if I was white, had blonde hair, and could shoot fire from my fingers).
They gave me great opportunities to flesh out my own character, and great ways for me to expand upon what I was given in game through my own writings. Now, this in complete opposition to how I felt about DA2. My Hawke was cool and all, but he wasn't a really well-defined character to me. Neither was my Warden. Of the two, none were able to capture my own personal voice that I so desperately wanted. And, while the Warden came a tad closer than Hawke, the voiceless BS really detracted from my Amell's ability to come to life, for me.
