I was leaning towards a Qunari when I first heard about race options. I knew I wanted to play a mage, but when Cullen's preferences were announced, I went with a human because my Hero of Fereldan was Surana. Somehow, I wasn't feeling an elf this time around so, Human it was. I'm happy to be playing an elf for my second playthrough to romance Solas, but it'll be so difficult not to click on all those hearts when talking with Cullen! Weird that all our Humans are nobles, even the mages, by blood if you think about it. I wonder why they did that?

 

By the way, for those who don't normally like mages, try the Knight Enchanter class. I had a lot of fun being really effective at both long range and melee combat.

Is it weird that I always pictured you to be at least 6 ft tall?

If I were to play someone who looked like myself, they'd have to shorten the elves. Too bad that's not how half elf/half dwarf works xD

I've played with a zev romance and without.
I think it's because Zevran is with the HoF when romanced. My wardens letter mentioned that her and zev were together.

I always play as an elf first, and I was leaning toward Solas but then I saw Cullen and .... XD I couldn't resist and I am so glad of my choices in my first playthrough.

That's good to know about the KE class. I've been debating whether to try rift mage or KE first.

Hmm, assuming human women in the game are averaging about 5'6", I'd be a little on the tall side for that, but way on the short side for a qunari. Ironically, my daughter who's tall enough to make a convincing qunari woman prefers to play dwarves...

 

Hmmm, maybe I should suggest cosplaying one to her...

i don't like KE that much, but i am more of a AOE damager/crowd controller  so i went with rift mage. TONS of fun.

 

I like to think there's some variation among elves, but they're generally on the short side. The only strong feelings i have about elf heights, anyway, is that my surana is literally five feet of ham.

 

Qunaris are just so tall, i get seriously jelly.

I enjoy AoE as well. Rift mage is a future specialization I'm going to try. I love being able to whip out the sword and have basically infinite barrier if I get swarmed though. Plus, mage dialogue options : )

Though, I have been at lunch with my brothers which turned into a 5 hour drinking escapade (I am so drunk) so meh, my eyes aren't the best a the moment.

I noticed with the Blackwall sex scene that dwarfs appear to be very close to his height but still have their feet flat on the ground without too much bending down for him... just think that's how they got the mechanics to work maybe?

I was as tall as the human men and definitely taller than human and eleven women. Yeah... They completely got rid of the height difference

No, it isn't your eyes (or just your eyes if you had that kind of liquid lunch ), the elves seem to be almost the same height as humans in almost everything to my eyes (I keep having to check for the ears and compare builds to tell). Not nearly as noticeable a height difference as in DAO. Which I suppose makes it easier to animate.

 Yeah same here. I was actually going to play as an elf at first since I thought they'd be the same height as the ones in Origins and I felt like that was closer to how I'd look irl. Imagine my surprise when I saw how tall even the elves were in Inquisition. It's a little weird to think that I'd actually be closer to the height of the dwarves in this game, just with an elven build. If I were to walk through Thedas as myself I feel like everyone would find me so alien. LOL. here comes the lil squirt to set yer hineys on fire, make way make way

 

I ended up playing a human in the end because either way I was gonna be super tall. Female elf inquisitors are slightly shorter than human elf inquisitors, but still tall enough to pretty much meet Cullen at eye-level. :*

I drive myself insane with trying to figure out everyone's heights so I just go with it.

 

Weird **** does definitely happen with fem qunari and dwarves in Blackwall's romance though.

T'is a shame really though I did notice that the dwarf in the last romance scene with Bull was standing on a stool and that Sera is pretty much the same height as my Inquisitor. And there is nothing wrong with a liquid lunch every once and a while, especially if it gets you out of cooking dinner. Takeaways for everyone!

You would be able to win all the sprinting races with those long legs!  I suck at sprints being so short but I was surprisingly good at high jump when I was at college. Everyone would look at me like I was abnormal.  I need to got to bed, lol.
