Cullen.
Because you mentioned DA Keep, to I guess change scenarios. Am I confused? LoL.
Wha? Naw, Cullen is fine. He's very much alive no matter what lol.

Not a very pleasant subject but I really want to know what do y'all thinks... About Cullen & Lyrium. Will he ever be able to be out of it completely?
Spoiler
And also, whether this is about Cullen??? I was asking Cole about Templars and suddenly he throw me this:
Spoiler
EDIT: I know we've discussed this many times but I must have missed many discussion, and now that I've just get these convo with Cole it made me wonder...
I know that real life addiction is a hard fight for individuals (I don't have personal experience on this but I've studied it). It really depends on what kind of substances we are talking about here, and if we are to assume lyrium as the most potent drug there is, then the process will be really difficult.
If you were to go cut off on lyrium after onset of the templar vigil, it should be relatively easy, factoring in your genetic, social, financial etc background. But like Cullen and so many other veteran templars in Inquisition, they've taken it for decades and have built up a tolerance. This changes their biology and the body always seeks to adapt its state; it doesn't quite have that manufacturer reset button that comes with some hardware. The body will always try to be the baseline of that substance since that's the usual state from continued use. That's what it usually try to do.
Also not to mention the psychological dependence, habits... it's amazing what we tell ourselves what we need or don't need.
Personally, I think the withdrawal process is gonna take a long time like years. He won't forget how lyrium tastes like or how it made him feel (he probably has some good points about it as well as bad). And it will always be on his mind, but I think he can keep that resolve going whether romanced or not.
Maybe that's just my optimism talking, tho
You'd think learning about biology and science would make you less of a romantic of the world... XD
I have no problems with Loghain because his head has long left his body...
Same here. I loved that part and it truly was what I expected DA:I to be all throughout the game. Although I still enjoyied the ball main quest and then the one in the Arbor Wilds is epic imo for sheer lore reasons.
The temple of mythal part was good, but the push through the Arbor Wilds itself was lackluster considering it was supposed to serve as our epic clash of the troops style battle. Literally couldn't see the wood from the trees with that one!
Don't kill me Lola, but I love tough choices
. DA:I's best for me is about save Hawke or save Alistair... Since I love both AListair & Varric...
It made every decision to go right through the heart. I mean, having the third option like having Dark Ritual or Save Connor & not possessed back in Redcliffe feels like cheating somehow.
Guess that it's a matter of preferences. I like the angst, the bittersweet, the very very dark choice & fantasy world.
He talks too fast in my opinion. Commanderly, and it works quite well for the non-romance part. But still, Cullen's not always talking with his soldiers all the time. He also pass times at the Council & with the Inquisitor. Greg talks much slower, hence he can nail it at the softer moments. Even at the Council Cullen speaks softly.
The hardest thing about choosing Hawke to stay was Varric afterwards. Because I'm not partial to Hawke, if it wasn't for Varric, it wouldn't have mattered to me much. I didn't connect with my DA2 heroine at all.

...You couldn't see the wood from the trees? I don't think I had that problem...lol! What system gave the most issues, PC or PS4?
You know once I finished DA:I I was thinking of what could had been in it...and I know that my idea/imagination may sound stupid and is nowhere near what Bioware could produce. After all their writers are far better than I am. However, I was thinking what if the Warden had been captured by the Venatori and was somehow powering some evil contraption of theirs. And you as the IQ receive a letter from Alistair be that as king or warden and then you go with him along with the IQ's forces and the Alistair's army if he is king and go to try and save the Warden. Long story short you arrive there to see her up on a high cliff fighting off venatori and you get a cutscene with Alistair whispering "It's really her" Blah blah you wade through enemies all the while the Warden is kicking ass and if this happened in the game then it would be a timed mission with no redos unless you saved before of course. At the top of the fortress you see the Warden finish off a giant venatori gladiator and then Alistair's and her eyes meets....
And that is where I leave you. It is is kind of hard to put into words what my imagination was providing me with, but I hope I did a decent job depicting my idea. So would you guys had liked to have had something like that in the game?
I am also thinking about turning that idea into a story...but then again I'm not sure if I should.
I think it really helps to have different Hawkes.
I didn't plan it deliberately, but my current PT in Inquisition will have me choosing between Alistair and Hawke in the fade. And choosing Alistair will not be difficult for me at all because the Hawke I am importing was an unapologetic blood mage who agreed with everything Anders did. I'd like to think that she came to see the error in her ways several years later and now sacrificing herself in the fade will be her one redeeming quality.
I'm currently trying really hard not to romance Cullen this time around on my second play through, but I can't help pushing all those flirt options we get. I think the only way I am going to prevent myself from romancing him this time around is if I encourage him to take the Lyrium ... which is going to kill me. Le sigh.

Yes please!

I did like the whole environment, but the battles leading up to it was pretty lackluster, I agree. I was like ... really? There's only 5 chevaliers greeting me to go forward?
Ok, I'm just gonna sneak in here 67 PAGES LATE and say CONGRATS ON PAGE 4000!!! I am sooo sorry I was not here.
Besides playing DAI every spare moment, this is my busiest time of the year, and every single person in my family has been ill as well. Yeah, I know, excuses, excuses. Anyway, things should be winding down for me over the next week or so, so hopefully I'll be around more.
And also in the spirit of celebration, I'd like to share on of my favorite screenshots...

Nope. All we know is that bloody Xbox gets exclusivity to it for like a month I think...which I am still steamed about. I mean really...pulling a Bethesda much?

Boo that's not fair! Still,I hope we get a solid number of DLCs to pad this game. It really needs more main story and companion content.
Yes please!
It's good to know that it would be interesting to some. I just don't know if I could actually pull it off...you see I have decent ideas, but when it comes to executing them it really depends on how important those ideas are to me or how capable I am.
Le snip

AGREED! I am also kind of disappointed by the fact that we aren't getting an expansion like DA:A for Origins...Darrah was the one who broke that news I believe.

LOL, I was trying to be funny. What I mean is there was a battle raging on that I could hear, but I certainly couldn't see it beyond a few pockets of enemies fighting npcs. I was blaming all the trees for... nevermind.
I guess my point was that for an epic battle it certainly didn't feel like one. It was no Tower of Ishal, that's for sure, despite the basic concept being the same.
*facepalm* It's only 11:00 PM in Ohio for me and I am this oblivious to a joke...wow THAT'S a new low for me, lol!
I think the battle for that one fortress/keep in Emprise Du Lion was more epic and there weren't even any cutscenes! I mean I loved that fight...although I did know it would actually you know turn into a quest for capturing that keep then fight two giants...several hundreds of RT, and then to top it all off a demon. I was not prepared to say the least.
If they implemented it correctly and didn't force hers/Alistair's/my Inquisitor's death(s) on me, sure. Problem is the Warden is no only a silent protagonist, but also has the potential of dying in the first one. One of the reasons they didn't implement the Warden in DAI is because he/she is too tricky to add in due to those reasons.
Yeah like no one would die unless of course the time beat you then only the Warden would die...that's what hundreds of save files are for. I may be in the minority*maybe?*, but I wouldn't give a hell if my Warden suddenly had a voice. I would just be happy that they were in the game, and it didn't stop them to bring Leliana back so they could bring the Warden in a DA game if they really tried. I know I would try to do that if I were in their shoes.
With an environment like that the potential was there to create a really poignant striking experience with the ravages of war against the backdrop of the incredibly stunning location of the Arbor Wilds. With the right ambience, lighting, weather conditions and a few impactful cutscenes it could've been fantastic!I did like the whole environment, but the battles leading up to it was pretty lackluster, I agree. I was like ... really? There's only 5 chevaliers greeting me to go forward?

Guys, I actually think I have a problem. I made did this (disgusted noise) again today. I really get it going from the back of my throat. How can a game have so much influence over me? I am doing it all. the. time.

It's all in here:
Thank you! I hadn't seen all of that together. I also want to do the Solas romance (in order) as well.
Wouldn't bother me much either. Hell, British female Inquisitor and female Hawke have remarkably similar voices and that doesn't bother people.
Oddly, I like the british female Inquisitor's voice, but I couldn't stand female Hawke's... not sure why, lol.
*shakes head* Sometimes people truly confound me with their reservations and what they are against.
I really liked the British female IQ's voice as well, she had a lot of emotion/range in my eyes at least. Hawke sounded a tad different for me as well...more mature perhaps or worn down.

Just don't do it during dinner...people may think you are choking.

I wish I could stop thinking about Specialist Traynor whenever I hear Trevelyan's voice... ![]()
As I'm looking forward to the future of DA...I kind of want it to revolve around the IQ again or Hawke....maybe the Warden. To be honest I am kind of getting sick of the whole "new protagonist" and then the whole old protagonist and their LIs somehow being split up...when things start becoming dry for me I lose interest.
