I liked the way Mass Effect did it with the same protagonist throughout, but I also like how DA does it because you get to create a whole new character and have them meet and romance people from a completely new cast, which keeps things fresh.

Wouldn't bother me much either. Hell, British female Inquisitor and female Hawke have remarkably similar voices and that doesn't bother people.

Oddly, I like the british female Inquisitor's voice, but I couldn't stand female Hawke's... not sure why, lol.

I thought they were the same voice actress until I heard them side-by-side. Very similar indeed.

As I'm looking forward to the future of DA...I kind of want it to revolve around the IQ again or Hawke....maybe the Warden. To be honest I am kind of getting sick of the whole "new protagonist" and then the whole old protagonist and their LIs somehow being split up...when things start becoming dry for me I lose interest.

YES. I would have been fine if it was Warden the entire game series. But I'm okay with seeing the inquisitor in a few games as well. It makes sense since the Inquisition seem to be more of an institution than the Wardens. Wardens are important always but are really only needed when a Blight threatens. The Inquisition is more tangible to spread over several games because their goal is to maintain order. And it's clear the mage/templar thing isn't over. Looks like the next game might focus on the mage/mage dynamic, or at least that was the impression I got.

It is a hard one because having a new protag. is part of the series charm. What makes it disappointing is the characters you have grown attached to will hardly be seen again. I don't know how they are going to top the Inquisitor though. They are pretty much the most powerful person in Thedas so I am wondering how they won't be the protag. in the next game. Unless, of course they go back to doing the more personal story line like they had in DA2 where you are only concentrating on one area but I can't see you not becoming someone big in at the end of the game, like Hawke did. I'm good with either. If they wanted to stick with the Inquisitor I would be happy. If they wanted to go with someone new or return to Hawke/Warden, I'd be happy. Turns out I am actually a really easy person to please.

... This makes me think we'll move completely away from Southern Thedas because it feels like they've exhausted the majority of what can be done in that area, especially with the Inquisition overseeing things now. I reckon they'll take us right away from there and concerntrate on whatever crazy stuff is happening elsewhere in Thedas, maybe even beyond the map! Obviously they'll probably still want the whole Elven/what's Solas' big plan thing to come into play, but the Elves old empire and lore etc likely stretched far and wide anyway, so that can happen anywhere.

I would like to explore an elven/slave uprising in Tevinter. It sounds like it would be juicy.

Tevinter seems to be the place we will focus on next. It has plenty of Elven lore, Magic lore, and in case you haven't noticed...it's TEVINTER. I really would love to go there or Antiva.

I'm happy for them to send us wherever. There's no new characters from DAI that I desperately want to be companions in the next one, sure it would be nice to get Barris and/or Scout Harding but I'm not fussed if we don't. I can't even begin to imagine what the main focus/plotline would be, let alone anything else, which feels weird since we had a rough idea what DAI would entail from DA2 and we knew we desperately wanted Cullen in it, lol.

If there is a DA4 it'll be an interesting journey for me, since I have no driving force to aim for in terms of campaigning for a character to be included or anything. All I want is for them to not kill/split up my protagonist's from their love interests, lol.

Other than that I'm golden.

Agree. I can't bear the thought of Cullen no being a staple in the games. He's been in all 3! It's basically a tradition now right???

Guys, I actually think I have a problem. I made did this (disgusted noise) again today. I really get it going from the back of my throat. How can a game have so much influence over me? I am doing it all. the. time.

When my warden was romancing Zevran, people ask me why I speak with Spanish accent...

Agree. I can't bear the thought of Cullen no being a staple in the games. He's been in all 3! It's basically a tradition now right???

He is as much tradition as bad head gear. If they are going to keep bringing that crap back each game then they can keep bringing him back as well.
