now I'm wondering, did I do anything during the quests that made this happen o_O It totally said, Alistair went to Weisshaupt, war between wardens, no one's heard or seen him since

Wanted to say something else to something totally unrelated to the above but it escapes me.... Damn you, sleep deprived brain, why you no work >_<

Yeah, that's what I got. No one's heard from him because he's likely disappeared off to join the Warden, that was always the plan, fix the mess there and then join her. With the Warden's supposedly in-fighting he probably figured balls to it and ditched it so that he and the love of his life can find a cure.

His touchy subject is lyrium. When you get to skyhold and he is in his tower you will get a cut scene with him where he tells you that has quit lyrium. At this point you can basically tell him to do whatever. Tell him to start re-taking it or to stay off it, it doesn't matter.

 

When you have finished either the ball or adamant (whichever you choose to do first) you will get a cut scene with him either arguing with Cass about how he is finding it hard to cope with the withdrawals and you then go after him to speak to him (this will happen if you previously told him to stay off of lyrium) or you will get a scene where he is looking over some blades (if you told him to keep taking the lyrium). For the former you can either keep supporting him or you can tell him to start taking lyrium again. If you force him to go back to taking lyrium he will end the relationship with you. For the latter you get three choices. For him to either 1) keep taking the lyrium 2) keep taking the lyrium and you will find a better way for him to quit once everything is said and done and 3) tell him to stop taking it all together. Again, he will break up with you if you continue to force him to take lyrium but if you choose option 2 or 3 then you are safe.

you make a deal with Imshael. He does know about it since he references it in war table banter (mentions it as a "stain upon the inquisition"), and I sincerely doubt he'd stay with someone who knowingly made a deal with a demon.

Yeah, that is messed up. I don't really understand why he would be with someone that would do that either. It is so un-cullen.

Well, he doesn't have an approval/disapproval rating, plus he was a late addition to the romance options. Most of his dialogue was likely recorded prior to the extra year extension... which probably also goes some way to explaining why sometimes he'll swing from professional, to loving, to professional/BAMF again so fast that it's kinda jarring in a comical way. I like to head canon that it's weird mood swings from the lyrium withdrawal, LOL!

If there is a DA4 it'll be an interesting journey for me, since I have no driving force to aim for in terms of campaigning for a character to be included or anything. All I want is for them to not kill/split up my protagonist's from their love interests, lol.

Really? Mine said Warden Alistair disappeared, which I took to suggest that he went off to join my Warden in the search to cure the calling like he had planned, since it was Morrigan narrating I figured the Inquisitor didn't tell her where he went since it was not really anyone's business.

 

Bugger! I was hoping to play that world state next!

I haven't done or seen either in game, but the wiki mentions that taking Imshael's deal will result in the demon murdering Michel himself. I'm not entirely sure if we get a full blown cutscene of him being killed though.

To be honest, I found Ser Michael's intro lackluster. Bastard wouldn't even help me fight Imshael after all his talk about wanting to fight the demon himself both in the book and in-game, lol!

Ready to start What Pride Had Wrought soon, and could use some advice for party members

My favorite party is Cass/Dorian/Varric, and I wish I could have them see me through until the very end, but I know Solas is a must for 'What Pride..'. Out of those three, who might you suggest replacing with Solas based on party banter input/etc? I'd probably keep Dorian because he is bound to have interesting things to say about that shady Well.
