And what makes it even cuter is that when you ask if she wants you to stop, she says "Yes!" and quickly rushes into another room in embarrassment and slams the door... only to open it again a few seconds later when you're about to walk off, and be like "No!"

 

It's fun to see a woman who once nearly groin attacked Varric with a dagger through a book, be so utterly flustered.

 

 

 

Frak! That is cute! I am nearly finished with this play-through and I am agonizing over who to romance in my next. I have been hearing such goo things about everyone. The only one I am not really interested in is Blackwall. I think it might be either Sera or Dorian though.

So one possibility I haven't seen mentioned (good for fanfic at least), unromanced Cullen and Amell/Surana - Amell/Surana romanced Alistair, refused the DR, and Alistair died. Ten+ years later, the HoF and Cullen meet again, a little worse for the wear but no longer the awkward Templar/Mage fraternization issue.

 

No, I don't want him pining pointlessly, and I don't think he is. But I've also known couples who met back up after 20 or more years (after going on with life) who've discovered they suit each other better now (including childhood friends who were never sweethearts then). It happens without it being an unhealthy obsession.

Yeah, I've seen people recommend turning it off if you're having the DirectX crashing issues. I've had a few DirectX crashes, but not very often. Haven't had a crash in over a week, so I'm just keeping it on, and thankfully it doesn't seem to make my load times any longer. Sorry to hear that it can cause so many problems, though!

 

Also, forgot to mention this before, but the LumaSharpen setting can unfortunately cause jagged edges in screenshots. Looks great in-game, but jagged in the SweetFX screenshots for some reason. For high res shots, I usually use NVIDIA DSR to take them at 2560x1600 resolution, and then resizing them to my actual resolution of 1920x1200 gets rid of the jagged edges, but you could always just disable LumaSharpen. I prefer it on, since the in-game antialiasing works well, but makes things extra... blurry?

My Inquisitor drank from it. She had to! Elven knowledge and she was raised to believe that Keepers were the ones who were supposed to keep the knowledge and she was supposed to be one before the hand thing.

I just kinda headcanon that she probably wouldn't mention the whole thrall to Mythal thing to anyone (besides Solas, who already talks like he knows) unless she absolutely had to.

I want to trust Solas, but he is way too damn cryptic. Makes me spook. But glad to hear it doesn't seem to effect anything too greatly.

I actually didn't think anything of it until I read an analysis of the game's ending on Kotaku. They posited that Solas absorbed Mythal/Flemeth and was clearly pretty desperate to advance his plans, whatever those were. They also pointed to the fact that Fen'Harel was kind of a jerk in the Codex stories, who would do anything and use anyone to achieve his ends. There was a lot spec in the comments that Solas would be a villain in DLC, which made me a tad worried for a f!Quiz who drank from the Well. Surely, he wouldn't do that, right???

As far as Cullen + Amell/Surana, there are just some things you did that stick with you that you regret. For him, that could be one. Goodness knows there are things I've done that I still wish I could go back and redo. It isn't pining; it's just remembering how you realized after the fact how bad something you did was and wished you hadn't done it no matter how unavoidable it might have been at the time.

Ahaha you just reminded me that every once in a while, I'll suddenly remember something or other embarrassing I did when I was like, 11, and it makes me literally squirm in humiliation until I can forget it again

Aww yeah, I agree. I like to headcanon that the reason Cullen can sometimes be so suave with his flirts is because he's actually trying extra hard to be cool around his precious love interest. There are times when you catch him off guard or when he catches himself being truthful about something in an accidentally unromantic way - like when he sputters after saying he's truthfully been waiting eagerly for you to go to the lake with him but realizes he just accused you of keeping him waiting, LOL. He also admits to you that he "doesn't need help embarrassing himself in front of you" after Wicked Grace. Deep down he's still an awkward bumblybum. But that's okay. It just makes him all the more adorable. I actually wish we had the chance to tell him everything he does is cute and he doesn't need to worry so much, haha.

 

imagine Culen in front of a mirror practicing his lines while he fusses with his hair, tho. given his personality, i dont think it's that far-fetched

Part of what makes me love that scene is that we get to see the man who once ran from a bit of casual flirtation, suddenly morph into the least phased person in the entire room when confronted with the sight of Iron Bull's... third horn...

So I tried to make an elf to start a Solas romance. And I just couldn't. I don't think I can play this game anymore until we get better hairstyles. Because to me they just all look really awful now.

 

The long hair that my main Inquisitor had looks weird on my elf. I don't like any of the others. LoL

So I guess its waiting until we get some hair mods. That's all I want.

 

And maybe if they're eventually able to make more lovely Cullen romance scenes like they were able to do with DA:O with Alistair. Although I won't bank on that one and just let it be a happy surprise if it happens.

I think the way they were pushing him bordered on predatory. Which may be normal at the Orlesian court, but wouldn't stop me from wanting to thump a few heads if I found anyone being cornered that way, especially one of my people who obviously didn't know how to deal with it, romanced or not.

Evidently we need to implement an interrupt system -- one button to Slap, one button to Hug, either useable at any point in a convo.

Solas was awfully keeperzoned by my mage, so all their interactions felt spot-on for me.

 

i wish there were unique random activities you could do with your friends, like the woo-breaks. so you could borrow cullen, gossip with josie, spar with cass, go for a drink with bull or dorian, play cards with varric... this kind of thing. would have helped making the characters feel more like a group of friends, in a game this big.

But I could be over thinking. Maybe he's just training for cold tolerance like Vikings. "Cold doesn't scare me, so I'm just gonna sleep in this roofless room naked without cover surrounded by snowy mountains."

Believe it or not, Cullen has Nord blood which gave him 50% resistance to Cold
