Couldn’t agree more, if they didn’t have time or resources to make additional cutscenes, they could at least scatter around the Redcliffe castle some letters, telling about your advisors and companions fate. Actually, for me the overall game falls short in the emotional intensity department. Bioware could have made DAI so much more dark and heart-wrenching, but we got what we got.  ;)

With the grave situation going on throughout the whole game, and how even the cameos from the previous companions all sound worn down and tired like they've been through hell and back, you'd have thought things would've felt more dire in general, lol.

I dunno, I still can't work out how they went wrong with that one.

We got something like this, less detailed and angsty though, in the Templar quest.

Oh man, that's so sad. All the cameos sound so tired and worn down, don't they.

I do like Alistair's 'grown up' voice.

I've done pro-templar, it's a good quest but the pro-mage one at least gives you some feeling of urgency after seeing what will happen if you fail. Plus, going pro-templar gets me less Cullen interaction because his nemesis quest can only be done if you go pro-mage.

Yeah, very super serious. Mind you, he still cracked a few jokes as a Grey Warden in mine.

Boo, Calpernia >>> Samson.

Just kidding, both are great.

But still! ;)

He's also fun when he's king and gets all angry that Haven has been wiped off the map. His map!

Also, something something grateful something.

OK, I have to confess - I stopped playing for a couple of days, because the game was boring me so much that it wasn't worth ignoring the pain in my hands for.  Sigh.  I almost went back to DA2 instead!  But I shall stiffen my upper lip, and push on.

My conscious is this game is better than DA2 not as good as DAO.
But I am not a fan of DA2 at all. I didn't connect with any of the character until Varric in DAI.

The problem is that there's not enough companion/LI/advisor content and main quests to make all those dull fetch quests worth while.

Has anyone come across party banter, speaking about your romance with Cullen? I am getting zip.

If its not in the game, that is well, a HUGE disappointment.

There is a few bits and pieces, Dorian and Cole comment on it, as does Leliana on the war table. Beyond that I'm not sure, banter in general has been pretty glitchy.

LOL, I love how that pretty much stops him in his tracks. I guess he can look at all the hardship he's been through and realise that if he hadn't experienced all he had then not only would he have never had the opportunity to grow as a person outside of the Order, but also he wouldn't have met the love of his life or the friends he's made within the Inquisition.

See I actually liked this game over both DA:O and DA:2. I missed having a voiced protagonist in DA:O and the combat was painfully boring for me. Plus...the deep roads and the fade = horrible (thank goodness for the skip the fade mod!). I loved Alistair...he will always be my #3 Bioware romance. With DA:2, the combat was more interesting to me, but the companions weren't as memorable. With DA:I, I loved the companions, combat, and open world dynamic. I play MMO's so I guess maybe that's why I'm partial to this game? Also...the Skyrim element is nice. To me, the characters seem more "alive" and animated in this game as well.

I was pretty much the same. Almost 40 hours in Hinterlands..I was in pain, tears and my dog made dinner for both of us. But then BOOM, ''In your heart shall burn'' quest! Still my favourite quest in all DA:I and I envy people who will play it for the first time.

I got one with Leliana, after snu-snu on the table xD Sadly that was all. Hope Varric will write something in his new book.

I loved this scene, it was hot and dark at the same time.

I guess I don't feel as much like the fetches are bad because they are spaced closely enough in the world spaces that I don't feel like I'm traveling forever to complete an objective and the scenery is beautiful. I also head canon that I am laying the groundwork for my own private kingdom by empowering the smallfolk, earning their trust and love. They will follow the Inquisition through fire at my behest! Won't their liege lords be surprised?

The more I chew on it Lola, the more I'm actually thinking that they got a bit too "big for their britches", planning so much and wanting to throw so much content that there was no way in hell they could have possibly finished it all, even with the grace period and extension given by EA.

And to be fair, in my opinion, the content that we do have (when it's firing correctly) is spectacular. I think it is a very fair assumption to say that there is more conent in DAI than DA2. But in some ways, there's the sense that there should have been more than what we were given in the final product. In some ways, to me, that's the writing department's fault, for not really closing off storylines as neatly as they should have and such so that we could get a sense of finality instead of this feeling of wanting more.

I am so jealous of the graphics quality some of you have. I think I may need to talk to my daughter about helping upgrade my card next summer. And maybe a setup for dual monitors...  :P

@ Eluvianus Rex, I'm in the camp of thinking they intend to add a lot more to this in terms of story arcs. It's not like they need to add much filler! They have plenty of that!

Downside of course is that we all have to pay for the DLC.
