I finally beat the game and think I will romance Cullen again for my 2nd playthrough. I love the smooth moves video hahaha i normally get that glitch when lighting torches

Yeah, there are a lot of things they claimed/promised was locked down that isn't even in game. I know that whole capture and repurpose the keeps function will most likely be added back in if they can get it working, but beyond that I'm not sure.

 

I'm convinced that a couple of main quests have been removed.

Yeah, this is how it seemed to me, especially when it came to the ending.

 

How come we had more of an epic build up going to the Arbor Wilds than we did going to fight Curry-squits? As much as I loved the game, the ending was really short and felt like it was cut down from something far longer and more involved?

 

Don't get me wrong, we can have a disappointing final boss and it's still be an awesome ending, remember the Human-Reaper in ME2 that you could take out in a couple hits if you had the nuke-gun? But part of why that ending worked for me more was because it really felt like the culmination of the entire game. You needed to do loyalty missions to keep everyone alive, you had to properly upgrade your ship and you needed to pick the right people for the right tasks to succeed.

 

It seems weird that Bioware don't seem to want to include more of these kinds of moments in their games, since they were so memorable and which most people agree to loving. I can get not wanting to repeat themselves, but I think we need to go back to how it was in the older titles, where you really got the sense that any of these characters could potentially die at anytime?

I think the problem is that the Arbor Wilds "battle" is supposed to serve as our "epic" clash of the troops, which is usually seen during the final battle. By splitting that up into two separate quests it felt disjointed, not to mention that the Arbor Wilds battle was pants, you couldn't even see the battle raging on, let alone anything else. The final goodbyes we'd normally get was supposed to be those conversations we had with the companions/advisors when we checked in on them all, which felt lackluster, especially if you then go out and do a bunch more side quests instead of jumping straight into the Corypheus fight, lol.

 

As for the pacing of the main storyline quests, I reckon if something was cut it was between recruiting the templars/mages and closing the rift. There's no way that thing should've been closed during the first act.

I don't think it'll return for more games beyond cameos and mentions, the devs are insistent that they want each game to have a new protagonist, plus they're planning to move away from Southern Thedas and explore elsewhere. However, I do wonder if they're planning on making a bunch of large expansions and DLCs for it, especially since they want to add in things that they had to remove (like the capturing/repurposing keeps etc). They've spent years building this game, so I can only imagine EA will want to milk it for as long as possible, especially now it's won GOTY.

Not entirely sure if it'll turn into a series, I'll admit it seems like that may be the direction they're heading in given the ending and I definitely wouldn't be opposed to that cause it would ultimately mean more Cullen   but I also seem to remember David Gaider saying at some point that they never wanted the Dragon Age series to become like Mass Effect in terms of playing the same character with every new installment. They could've easily changed their minds I suppose but normally when Bioware say they aren't going to do something they stick to their guns.

Me too lol brings back some memories. Also Spike from Buffy, although that's completely unrelated.

On an even further unrelated note, I tuned into the last 20 minutes of an '80's thriller movie on TV, and it was an incredibly surreal experience. I had no idea why everyone was trying to kill each other, who the bad person was, and why there was someone trapped in a sinking yacht. It feels like it should be a metaphor for something, but in reality it probably means I should cut down on my caffeine intake.

I'm starting to wonder if they didn't feel like they could keep the Mage-Templar War storyline going, hence why it got wrapped up in such a rushed manner. Sure, I recruited the Mages but what about the Templars? Why wasn't I allowed to go to appeal to them and get them to finally agree to a peace-talk? Or vice versa, why is the faction we don't side with suddenly throw under the bus offscreen and so easily turns evil?

 

The Breach itself seemed like it should have been a united effort, something we could have gotten both sides to join us in closing if we'd done things correctly, rather than just choose Mage or Templar?

 

You're right, a lot of main quests seem disjointed, like something was cut? I imagined that Crestwood was one of them, perhaps as part of Corypheus once again deciding to strike back against the Inquisition? It seems weird that he never seemed interested in facing us against after Haven?

 

And it always made me wonder, why does one of the acheivements say something along the lines of "captured a keep before the enemy?" I'm not sure, but at what point did it seem like any of the bad guys could capture a keep before us? I'm starting to wonder if that was something that was also cut, that we'd have to fight off Corypheus' forces when dealing with an unclaimed Keep, allowing us to secure more power in that region?

I know enough to buy what I need for my rig, I'm just not confident enough to put it all together from scratch! I've only ever swapped out easy stuff, like hard drives, GPU's and PSU's. With this one I picked out what I wanted and had someone put it together for me. 

 

I work from home 100% (insurance company) and if I could fit 4 monitors on my work desk I would!

I let my oldest cannibalize old rigs (and friends gave her old machines and parts) when she was a teen to see what she could come up with, and she and a couple of friends got into building their own. I don't touch hardware myself (friends have been known to joke that a hammer challenges my mechanical skills ). My computer knowledge is really patchwork with some huge holes (self taught mostly so I only bother to learn what interests me )

They certainly marketed it as the breach being the big threat... I thought it would've stayed open for longer than it did. I also hoped that the anchor mark on our hand would continue to slowly kill us, or at least cause us a few problems for longer than the bloody prologue, lol.
