So, after a month of keeping my mouth shut so I didn't spoil it, my daughter finally saw the game of Wicked Grace with her Cadash PT (and I got to watch). I think she's replaying it right now to watch the streaking... :P  (Yes, darlin' that's why I wandered down the hall one night laughing my head off and wouldn't tell you why.)

Meh the pacing of bioware games has been an issue for a while tbh. The last game where they got the pacing about right was ME2.

That's actually why I was thinking that what Templars believe to be anti-magic abilities are actually just another branch of magic that happens to counter the generally known magic. The anchor itself is a previously unseen higher level of magic, which is why Solas and others comment that it's unlike any magic they've ever seen and why Templars can channel energy into it without canceling it out. It could be the reason why your mark is referred to as the Anchor - it trumps the known Magi/Templar magic types and acts as a sort of base that links the world of the Fade and the physical world beyond what normal magic could accomplish. It also explains why it allows even a non-mage Quizzy to dream so vividly in the Fade - it's simply a stronger magic type.

I mentioned it a while back but I really thought it was ominous how

and lyrium is basically crystallized Fade energy. I read a Tumblr discussion wherein David Gaider mentioned how it was the Old Gods who taught humanity their magic and that The Maker was said to have banished both the Elven Gods and the Old Gods at some point in the past. Maybe there are different "flavors" of magic depending on the divine forces they're attuned to in the Fade, and normal magic just happens to be attuned to the Old Gods?

Or maybe I'm looking too much into it. Sigh.

No such thing as "looking too much into it"

Besides what else are we supposed to do other than come up with increasingly detailed/crazy theories while we wait for DLC  :D

I like the idea that there are actually many different forms of magic and they all have their unique little quirks. This might also be why Blood Magic makes it harder for one to connect to the Fade in the normal way, according to Solas?

I think you just need to talk to her after finishing the quest. You may have to leave skyhold then come back and talk to her again for it to trigger.

Off topic, but in case anyone plays Skyrim here, the Skyrim Romance Mod should be coming out soon (before Christmas).

Hmm, weird. It might be bugged then because that didn't work. Thanks for the reply.

Hmm then it could be based on whereabouts you are in the story perhaps, I think I had them show up for me fairly close to the end. If you get to before the final mission and they still haven't shown up then yeah it's definitely bugged out on you.

Just started the What Pride Had Wrought quest. The Arbor Wilds is a really beautiful map! And that opening cutscene was awesome!

I got that scene and when I did I unlocked the made 3 friends achievement. It's probably approval locked so you'll need to raise it a bit more I think.

Well, this might be an interesting topic. Might worth a DLC no? Something about the relationship of Blood Magic & the Fade & Templar's magic & normal magic. And we get screen time of Cullen

Personally I'm also intrigued about what Cole mentionned about Templar hearing "songs". Since Templars can seal the Breach, they can use magic even if Cullen call it otherwise. ANother kind of magic maybe, but still magic in itself? Hmm...

I'm no physicist but I'm really tempted to say that there is some quantum physics-type stuff going on in mages that involves manipulating the connection almost all sentient minds in Thedas have to the Fade. I think some quantum physicists focus their studies on how the brain works on a quantum level to give rise to the concept of the mind, at least. Anyways, since blood magic manipulates the brain in some fashion that removes the victim's ability to think/dream for themselves, it also messes with that connection to the Fade by extension because the very essence of the Fade is free will, dreams, and emotions. Demons themselves can basically hijack physical bodies by riding that connection mages have to the fade in the opposite direction, and this is the same thing they teach you to do if you turn to blood magic - to hijack someone else's physical body. And since the essence of riding backwards into someone's head is to go from the direction Fade --> Physical, that's probably why it's considered an abnormal connection.

Also, this explains why all people (and not just mages) can be possessed. Everyone has a connection to the Fade (except dwarves). It's just easier to possess mages because their connection to the Fade is already naturally stronger than normal - the demons have a stronger wave to ride backwards on. Fascinating stuff!

Edit: Oh. Top again.

Have an edited version of one of the gifs I posted a few days ago that includes 100% more pleading skyward glance for the same low price.
