OMG!!! THey had planned this all along since DA2!

Certainly seems that way! Or they purposely recreated it in DAI just as a nod to the idol? ... Or it's happened before in the past? Who knows!

For Boom. I don't speak French but I thought it would be romantic.

Cher bien-aimé, tu détiens la clé de mon coeur. Je te aimerai pour toujours.  <3

I only have a brief idea on what that could translate too.

My love, you possess the key of my heart. I will always love you.

But the "you" isn't referred with the same degree on the first & second sentence. First sentence "vous" (very formal), second sentence "tu" (intimate or informal).

EDIT: okay I'm gonna stop

Well, it translates to what I wanted, bar the "you".

Why stop?

Ooooh that should be a very interesting idea for DLC... The origin of Red Lyrium.

Sorry if I seems to be pompous, it's just normally the "you" must be kept on same term.

Either:

Cher bien-aimé, vous détenez la clé de mon cœur. Je vous aimerai pour toujours.

or

Cher bien-aimé, tu détiens la clé de mon cœur. Je t'aimerai pour toujours.

Okay THAT is awesome! So like is it just a nod...or is it an idol that depicts a past event that Solas and Flemeth just repeated??

Btw, I read this great article on possible ending rationales.

I'm ready to bet that they had planned things in advance. The main idea at least. Remember in DA2 Flemeth appeared on the Altar of Mythal when Hawke brought the amulet to Sundermount?

It's possible, I dunno! We could mention it to the devs/writers and see if it's just a coincidence?

dear; beloved: used in referring to or addressing a woman or girl.

Well not necessarily, at least not how we use it. It's more like "cute thing."

Good point! And they had the basic story idea for DAI ever since DA:O so it probably was purposely done. Makes me wonder what other subtle hints are lurking around in DA:O and DA2?

So...anybody think the door leads to quizzie's quarter is at an awkward location?

Imaging one morning you LI wake up late after a long night, they walk downstairs half asleep with bedroom hair, eye bags and only half dressed, they opened that extremely loud wooden door find they are facing quizzie sitting on the throne alone with dozens of soldiers, noblemen, advisors and some poor prisoner, all turn to stare at your LI in awkward silence...

Now I kinda want that happened in the game...

Don't kill me but usually it's Chère [insert Noun here, or name] like Chère Boom. If you just want to call "beloved" or "My Dear" or things like that it's Chérie. (Masculine form Chéri)

ex: Chérie, you want to go to bed?  or  Chère Boom, you want to go to bed?

Voilà! :P

Yeah but Cajun French is slightly different than mainland French; all of those are pronounced the same... "shah" (same short "a" sound as "cat").

I don't even know the proper spelling of the word we use. Generally I just see it spelled as "cher" or "chere."

"Aww, cher baby!"

"Hey, cher, how you doin?"

Is mostly how we use it.

I'd start getting a complex is someone kept calling me Cher... my uncle said I looked like her once, when I was a kid. Good to know that I have a horse face, I suppose.
