Still my favorite game of the series. Repeatable environment maps aside, 2 had the strongest writing of all three games, and I've yet to see BW top that in the DA universe. Let's see how it goes for DA4.

Lots of stuff to love about it. I just felt more satisfied that I had achieved something by the end of Origins, and even this game than, "everyone dies, now run away" (or take over) lol

I'd originally heard "story reasons" for the race gating, but it's been pretty clear that wasn't it. Just keep in mind that it's bad enough having favorite race/gender combinations left with only very dysfunctional LI choices without having people virtually gloating about how wonderful it is that you've been excluded from the more mainstream ones. I came very close to quitting the thread earlier because the conversation was so far from the sensitivity I've usually seen.
I'd heard story reasons as well. I've never heard someone official say it was just because of time. The devs always seemed pretty adamant about that whenever someone cried racism.
Regardless, every time we dip into what sexuality "should" be for any of the characters it gets out of hand... which is why we generally avoid that topic.

What's going to be annoying is if they decide they will DLC or patch it for a price... I know I will pay for it (unfortunately) but then that's what EA does, doesn't it? Look at Sims...

Oh yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be flippant about it if that was what it looked like. I was just wondering how much else was left out of the final game due to difficulties with animating it all, and I'm genuinely happy that people can now imagine the scenarios they wanted in their heads without having to worry that they're breaking some sort of canon rule about how Cullen should be. I guess it's hard to sound genuine online without being overly sappy, haha.

Well, that ex-dev reckons it's extremely difficult to patch something like that in, which I've also heard echoed about other things missing from the game from other devs... I guess we shouldn't hold our breath for Skyhold activities and the like to be implemented either then, LOL!

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled he's in the game and romanceable. And I'd be a lot more OK with it if one of the non-race gated male LIs was more generally appealing.

No, you weren't being flippant at all. I was more referring to some of the earlier remarks rejoicing in the gating.

I loved DA2, as well. It's probably tied with DAI right now for me... but I think I still haven't fully decided on DAI. I'm still on my rollercoaster of the seven stages of Feelsuh at all the anticipation being over! 
I love it! Best game I've ever played! I hate it! I can't use the frakking PC controls! I love it! I love Cullen and love his romance! I hate it! I've spent seven hours running up one mountain for one shard! I hate it! No one will talk to me til I go to the Arbor Wilds! I love it! I'm done! I live! Cullen loves me! I hate it! The boss fight was short. The romance wasn't angsty. .... Now what do I do...?

In theory, yes. I mean, there's not that much height difference between human females and males, and Elven females and males... it's likely not impossible.

True, though you'd think they'd implement what's supposed to be in there before trying to add in more though.
