Yeah, I logged into my game to get a screenshot but because I've already completed the quest chain the little quest pin has gone from the map so I can't access it anymore to take a picture.

Wanna slap Blackwall around the back of the head when you bring him to meet Alistair in the Crestwood cave and he's like "Blackwall? My mentor Duncan mentioned you!" And he's like "Duncan?... ah yes, good man." 

 

Knowing what I know now I wanna give him a kick in the arse, Alistair seemed so pleased to have met someone that Duncan "knew"... of course, knowing "Blackwall's" little secret now makes me feel so bad for Alistair.

Wow. I will take Blackwell with me for that.

Or maybe I won't do that to Alistair.  Though I know I will probably leave him behind. I figure he has the best chance of surviving, like Leliana.

That's the one!!! Ok, so based of that warning note that supposedly wasn't sent by the culprit plagerising Varric's novels, I reckon it was thrown in that quest chain to purposely throw us off.

The Skyhold has been abandoned for who knows how long, but what we do know is that it's Elven and according to both Solas and Morrigan it has a lot of magic within it's walls/grounds etc. Essentially our Inquisitor 'n' co are squatters since we don't own it. Perhaps the part where the note says that we are encroaching on someone/something's domain is in reference to the Skyhold and someone/something wishes to claim it back.

... It could just be wishful thinking, but it could also be a genuine warning that we'll encounter in future DLC/expansions. If we do get attacked i'd love for it to happen at nighttime whilst our Inquisitor and LI are curled up in bed with each other, and then BOOM! Fire and loud noises, we're under attack! Imagine the cutscene!

I like this theory!

 

It would certainly explain why Skyhold has remained somehow off the map for such a long time, as well as why it keeps being abandoned by it's various owners? Perhaps it's a place that's important to a certain faction of elves, much like the Temple of Mythal? It would also be interesting if the Underforge is part of this, as the building notes mention that they can't figure out why it was constructed and for what reason, nor some of it's properties?

And with the reveal that Solas is the Dread Wolf and that he's the one who first leads us there, perhaps the place is important to him in some way? It does seem strange that a location who's name in Ancient Elven translates as "The place where the sky was held back", should happen to be occupied by a group who formed to do just that, millennia later?

What else was he supposed to say when put under the spot like that? Telling Alistair "nope, sorry kiddo, don't remember any Duncan" would have made Alistair far more upset than a white lie laced with praise for a man he's speaking of with clear admiration. All things considered, it was pretty considerate of Blackwall to spin his story into something Alistair would obviously appreciate hearing, at the time.

I thought about that as well and I can't even imagine how creepy that would be...but actors have to be used to seeing/hearing themselves. I know every time I hear my own voice I'm like "OMG I DON'T SOUND LIKE THAT!!!"

i did my bestest best to make him look like real greg ellis! (: seems like i've succeeded

and yup, i named him greg for mostly the same reason as you did, cerulion, to honour the man

 

 

hahah he had received suggestions like that, i think it would be funny, especially if he would comment his playthrough as he played.

i remember i left him a tweet that went "commentary and jokes about "playing with yourself" is what i'm waiting for the most" (:

i think he likes to fool around, he has a great sense of humor, also he likes to spoil his cullenites ;p
