Ugh not again. This topic is not going to end well in the slightest and I think the person who tweeted this little information truly was just looking for some blowback at Bioware. I intend to go on the information that has been presented in the current and in the other games. Not random information from someone who no longer works for Bioware. I have played every single scene with Cullen in the past game with both male and female characters last night and there is no indication at all*as in none* that he was interested in men as well as women, So if this happens I want a big explanation as to why they would just randomly pull this out of nowhere. If there was actual evidence in previous games then I think there would be no issue.

Go back about 10-15 pages. It was discussed, it got out if hand, everyone felt bad, we've more or less agreed to let it go, for everyone's sake. There's a whole thread about it on Feedback and truckloads of drama about it still going on over tumblr, where everyone can dump their feelings without getting this thread closed over that.

 

Okay.. I guess it was discussed overnight. The page moves so much that I don't have time to read everything. I guess I'll drop it here then and read what others said about it if I can still wait the pages ^^ It's pretty heated up in tumblr from what I see as well. Bummer, intresting topic I think

Someone just said that m/m Solas dialog was found but I'm not sure if there's truth to that? 

 

Again, I'm not sharing my opinion on the matter, but why couldn't this just be a situation where there was extra un-used dialog recorded as with past Bioware games? To my knowledge nobody has found any cutscenes hidden in the files. We were also given twitter posts that were not official so who knows on those as well.

 

Well you won't find cut scenes because they were supposedly unable to find the time to complete them. So only the audio is in the game.

 

Also, they've allegedly stopped having all actors record all dialogue regardless of gender; they supposedly have a new method of recording dialogue and don't need this old method.

 

Again, this is all alleged, based on stuff I read in the bi Cullen thread  Take with a pinch of salt!

 

But at this point, I do 100% believe Cullen was originally intended to be a bi romance in DAI. For technical reasons and due to time restraints, he was only made straight. 

 

As for Solas, I don't know.

I just can't understand why they did bother to let the unused audio stay in final game copy if they don't intend to use it at all. That might cause all the heated comments & people hurting like what's happening now.

 

Whatever the reason they cut him off from being bi, they should have erase that audio comment from the final copy. I mean, imagine all the heart-aches of people who really wants Cullen & realize that they nearly got him but finally no... That's worse than teasing & surely people will feels like they're being kicked in the stomach.

Anyway let's just try to get onto a less controversial subject so people who are fans of him being bi and fans of him staying the way he has been presented in the past don't pull a Hatfields v. Mccoys war. Since we are getting closer to Christmas I was thinking that maybe we could try some Cullen art or fics that invoke the holiday spirit*Boom I'm looking at you*. Thoughts?

 

Btw...I somehow ended up on making Chris Hemsworth in the CC. Only difference being that my IQ has the white/blonde hair and it is not as long as Hemsworth's. It was pretty easy actually.

OK, so there is now a big movement on to make Cullen bi again. Why? Why are there no big movements on to make Blackwall bi or Solas bi? Why are there only movements on to make the convert the straight romances that don't end in craptastic fashion? If we're converting romances to make them accessible shouldn't we be making them all bi again?

 

They said something along the lines of "we tried making so and so bi and it didn't work" during a panel so I don't think the Cullen thing was just a time issue. IB was restricted but they put in the time to get his animations done despite deadlines. So if they really thought Cullen should be bi they would have put the effort in to get it done like they did with Bull. If someone finds dialogue for Sera with a romanced male in the files I wouldn't call her bi now either.

And all I can say to the audio files being found is that again, there are all kinds of things that get done when they are shooting a film or writing a story or making a video game that wind up cut from the final product because in the end there either isn't space for them or they are unnecessary or they don't make sense. There was apparently a wedding scene, too.

 

In the movie Aliens they tell you how many colonists there were - 157, but they shot a scene with these big sentry guns were the guns had drums of ammo containing hundreds of bullets. If you figure one alien per colonist and that the aliens were bum-rushing the tunnel, those guns had to have shot a major portion of the aliens on the planet by the time they ran out of ammo, and that's being generous with your estimate of alien numbers. Not all of the colonists would have survived to make aliens and Newt was never implanted or killed.

 

So, cutting the scene was best because there were just too many aliens left over even though the scene rocks for building tension.

 

It may simply have been that in light of how Cullen behaved in DAO (never flirting with a male) and where his writer saw him going and/or other issues that they opted to cut it as making more sense as it is. We don't know.

Lol I am going to attempt to get some screenshots! I am on PS3 so sadly he will look somewhat inferior to those of you on the current gen or have a high powered PC. Although I did try to write down which sliders I used for his looks and everything else I did. Now..,if I can only get a good picture with my phone.

The fact audio was found means very little. Audio is one of the first things dev's will get out of the way because it's difficult to pin down all the VA's required with their schedules and what BW have done is exactly the same as what film makers do; they've recorded more assets than they will ever need to cover all bases should plans change later in development so they don't have to worry about getting VA's back in the studio on a tight schedule. Believe me game dev is stressful enough without having to worry over things like certain bits of audio being missing.

Given that my game has been almost unplayable today, I'd really like the current game content to be fixed before hassling Bioware for additional stuff.  I'm just about ready to throw the PC through the window at this point.  Which is a shame, because until today's session in the Exalted Plains, i didn't seem to have any/many bugs at all.
