When you're working crunch and trying to get a game released tidying up what files make it into the final build is the last thing on your mind.Also on the confidentiality thing mentioned above, every studio will have non-disclosure agreements in place and many studios are very strict about what you can say on social media, even after you've left the studio those NDA's are normally still in effect to a degree. The place I work at makes you sign at least 5 of the bloody things before they'll even let you see anything to do with a game much less work on it and they won't allow you to use USB devices for fear that you'll take work home with you and leak it on 4chan or something .
I work for a huge insurance company and we have to do the same thing, albeit all virtually. We have to re-sign that like twice a year.
