Shartan was definitely an elf then?

That's been said from the beginning. In DAO, one of the priests arguing in front of the Denerim chantry will admit that there had been a book of Shartan in the Chant of Light until the Exalted March on the elves. And he looks an awful lot like Solas in the Temple of Sacred Ashes, which someone noticed before the game released. I'd wondered about a few of the things she speculated on in that post, but never thought about Flemeth possibly being a descendent of Andraste. I'd just thought it was possibly significant that Flemeth and Andraste's stories both involve two men who love them and a betrayal (and someone who sings or is a bard). Maybe if Flemeth was a blood descendent, Mythal was drawn to the similar circumstances and offered her help? Which makes me wonder if there's a connection between Solas and the Bard Osen...

Oh man, that meeting/confrontation in ME2 is awful for a fem!Shep, fortunately he does email her to apologise... kinda, LOL!

I so hate what they did to female Shepard/Kaidan in ME2 and ME3.he was like a completely different person. In ME1,he was this very rational and natural person that was completely smittened with Shepard even before the romance start. Then in ME2 he's like "how could you do this to me!put me through all that in two years without contact!" I was like "Excuse me? I'm deeply sorry about all the inconvenience my DEATH cause you. Apparently been a pile of dead tissues for two years is not a good enough reason to not calling or writing letter."

True, but Mythal may have been inside Andraste for a time, before later ending up within Flemeth. Just like the dread wolf could have been in Shartan before jumping into Solas' physical body.

Hmm,could be.Although the Fen'harel/Solas appears to have been in slumber for centuries,perhaps he just entered uthenera right after he trapped the rest of the gods from the elven pantheon,and that lead to the fall of Arlathan.
A conversation he has with the inquisitor after the temple, if they drank from the well, suggests that this might have happened.Although I'm not 100% sure I think his current form is his own,rather than a vessel.
After all Mythal was a rather special case,hence why she needed a host.

Shame the temple was blown sky high, it would have been neat to see it in all its mindfuckery glory in DAI again.

Unless it was reforged it just makes no sense, when her sword shattered, she was turned into stauerith.

I think it was reforged, someone said the codex entry suggests as much.

Good question! Piecing together everything from DAO, we know she was married to Lord Connabar (sp?), he betrayed them somehow and killed the Bard Osen, then she, or something under her command, killed him. And the Couslands took Highever after his death (he was related to the Howes of the time), and over time they went from banns to teryns. Those things are fairly certain. The question is whether she was married to Connabar and ran away with Osen, or was married to Osen and agreed to be sold to Connabar. She told Morrigan the latter, Leliana's tale says the former. Which is the truth...?

Yes, and he was executed with Andraste, if I recall correctly.

So completely off-topic, but for those that enjoy the earlier Bioware games, has anybody noticed KOTOR is now available on Android? I totally bought it today. I have it for PC but it doesn't play well with newer versions of Windows so I never got to play! I can finally finally finally experience Carth!

I know, but you can't always be sure that the stories/history is accurate, so I wasn't sure if that was going to be a fact, or just people assuming that he was an elf.

I tried to play it on PC but the controls were so glitchy that I gave up.

Ow I think my brain is going to explode from DA Lore overload.  I have a hard enough time keeping track of FR Lore (and that's because of the fics I'm writing that I really need to get back to)

 

I just play the game for what it is and try and not to worry about the details too much.

Possible, though that's something that's been pretty consistent from humans, city elves, and dalish in the game. Of course, there was two centuries between her death and the rise of the Chantry, but I can't imagine why they'd make him an elf if he wasn't since the relationship between humans and the Dales apparently was never very good. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time "they" had it wrong (or Bioware wanted to change directions )
