My bread is proving, my presents have -hopefully- been matched with their recipients, and oh bother I still haven't got the mince pies out. My first time making Christmas dinner and its all going ****** up already hope you're all having better luck!

haha, luckily I just have to show up for dinner...and go last minute gift shopping, because I've been putting it off for the past two weeks.

I don't even know what anyone wants. ughughugh

At least I get off work early today. Bet the mall's gonna be a real fun place to be this afternoon.

Working a half day so I'm making good use of my work time by looking for a HQ screenshot of The Cradle of Sulevin to make a desktop wallpaper with. Do any of you have one?

Ha! We have made progress. This is the first year kiddo is keenly aware of Christmas, and he has suffered from a panic that he has missed Santa Claus. So for a string of three days running he would wake up in a panic that he missed Santa.
 
And really, our big Christmas with family is this weekend, not Christmas Day. So, it won't be Christmas-feeling until Saturday although we'll cook a special meal and open some gifts as a threesome tomorrow.

I suppose it's better than being afraid of the very concept of Santa like I was. They probably shouldn't have led with the sees you when you're sleeping thing...

I'm hoping to get out early today so I can start baking my pies for tomorrow early... and to play some Dragon Age. Though pies must come first otherwise it'll suddenly be 4:30am and I won't even have started.

I did all my shopping yesterday in the local town centre and that was bad enough being barged around all over the place and half the shops were operating cash-only tills (why?!) next year I'm buying everything in advance. Far in advance.

I was pretty organised this year for once as I ordered all my gifts online. It was a risk I haven't taken before as I usually like to see and feel things for real before I buy them but I've been pleasantly surprised, everything arrived on time and was as I expected so that's a bonus. Hubs did the manic supermarket dash on Tuesday, as usual he forgot two items lol so he had to go back again today lol but we seem pretty well sorted now. He's prepping the veggies for the soup atm, everything else just goes in the oven tomorrow, there is only 3 of us this year so it should be a laid back and relaxed day

I never really understand people who don't like gift cards, personally that's what I prefer to get. Though I think that stems with the fact I am pretty picky about things I actually want so with gift cards I can make sure I get the correct thing.

Merry Christmas!! It's technically still Christmas Eve morning here, but my daughter and DIL are actually on the way (knock on wood, the last month has been a comedy of errors) so it's Christmas to me! The advantage of turning my kids loose in the kitchen when they were young is no one lets me cook now. Of course, the disadvantage is that I get to scrub the bath... For anyone traveling, be safe!

It's taken him a quarter of a century, but one of my friends' families have finally cottoned on and now they all send him gift cards for GAME half wish mine would do something similar (although then I'd never get new pyjamas...)

I haven't shopped for my daughters much in years, unless I've been able to find out something specific they wanted. I'd rather give them a gift card or cash (with maybe something small and funny they can enjoy) and tell them to go to their favorite book/game/chef's store. They remember some of the rather disastrous things my mother and my ex gave me, so they understand why I feel that way. Though my DIL and I conspired for my daughter's b'day this year and each bought part of something she really wanted (that was fun).

My phone is covered in grated crrot. My kitchen is covered in grated carrot. I am covered in grated carrot. The only place there appears to be a dearth of grated carrot... Is my carrot cake.

Next year I am going to celebrate something simpler. Maybe i'll have Valentines Day twice.
