But I agree, that the romances should be more represented in general through the serie (same for the cameos). That's one of the reason I prefer the Mass effect serie because romance can be carried over and being continued which I miss a lot in the DA serie.

 

I don't think it helped that due to DAI's sheer size what content we did get with the companions and advisors (both romantic and normal interaction) felt lacking because there wasn't enough of it.

Yeah, I remember a lot of talk on the forums about what it might mean if you're a female Warden. Can you get turned? When you hear the Calling would you just make sure Zevran gave you enough poison to kill you when you get to the Deep Roads so you don't get turned? And I still wonder about that.

 

The implication was that yes, you could become a broodmother. My wardens always planned on either getting poison from Zev or the trap or magic equivalent of a deadman's switch.

I always had the feeling that Zevran, at least, would find a way to make sure, if you had to go to your Calling, that you didn't survive it. He's a practical one.

I loved Hespith's poem in the deep roads. It creeped me out in the best sense of the term. I was simultaneously scared and excited.

I think it is called the "clown statue" and revolves around a babysitter that is creeped out by a clown statue that is either in the kids room or somewhere else in the house. She rings the parents or the parents ring her and she offhandedly asks whether or not they would mind if she covered it up. Of course they tell her to take the kid/s out of the house and to go to the next door neighbours house. Once there, she calls the parents back to let them know that they are at the neighbours and they then explain to the girl that they don't have a clown statue but their child had been complaining of waking up in the night to find a clown in their room, watching them sleep.

 

The story varies from the clown being a homeless dwarf that has been squatting in the house to a psychotic killer etc. But we all know urban legends aren't real.

My biggest gripe with the Alistair as King in DAI is less the lack of a romance mention and more the fact that... we KNOW he is undergoing the calling. When we see him in Redcliffe, he is undergoing to the Calling...at that moment! But it is never mentioned at all if he is King. No mention about how the king has been acting strangely (in my first PT, the HOF was dead). Nothing!

Alistair as a warden undergoing the calling and talking about how it felt gave me chills (thank you Mr, Valentine!!). The way his voice is soft, like he can hear it in the back of his mind, like he is almost talking through a dream. It really underscored, WAY more than my first playthrough with Stroud as the warden, that the Calling is a terrible, terrible thing...above and beyond what it means in terms of what the wardens are up to. I wish there was a way to have it hinted at, at least, when we meet Alistair as king.

Seriously, biggest emotional impact of the game for me was Alistair as warden. Course, I am just a weeeeee bit obsessed with him...

My parents had a little glass clown figurine that me and my siblings were all terrified of, so they got rid of it... turned out it was actually worth a fair bit of money, they weren't pleased, LOL!

The minute he started talking all sweet and lovey dovey about the HoF I was like 'Oh crap'.  When he was hanging over the edge I was practically shouting at my Inq to go back for him. But the decision was easy. I had no hesitation. There was no way he was being left behind. 

But I had a few moments of profanity hurling toward bioware at that moment.

Oh man, I stared at that one clip from the trailer so much when it first came out that I gave myself a headache! It's supposed to be the Inquisitor back when we were supposed to have a cape, if you look close enough you can see he's wearing the Inquisitor concept art outfit from the survey leak.

That's a good question! Y'know, I was looking for a YT vid of him staying in the Fade and I couldn't find a single one (haven't checked recently though). It seems the majority who had to make that choice let him live.

At one stage everything sucked into itself like a black hole that I couldn't reverse, I'd have to quit the game and start again to get the camera angle to return to normal, lol.
