For me it takes a really heavy hand for that trope to be offensive but it's really easy to make it boring. But I trust the writers not to make DAI boring, so I trust them not to lean on the Messiah Figure thing too heavily. I think the picture was just like that because you need a stupidly long table to show 13 people clearly.
For me, it takes only the lightest touch before parallels between RL religion and game-world symbolism becomes way too much. Because fans tend to equate the two even without help, and they tend to treat decisions that don't support Andrasteism as "wrong." I'm a completionist who will eventually try *all* the options. I'm not pleased with the prospect of being told that half of those choices are wrong.
Does the war table image go to far? No, but it's pushing my limits. I understand that they were probably going for a classical art reference as much as religious overtones, and that helps... but I hope they don't push the religious angle open any wider.
From the classical painting, Judas was the one with the bent elbow, with his head the lowest in the painting. I really, really hope they didn't take the parallel that far.
