SweetFX Settings
The SweetFX version I'm using is in post #91 here. Just extract all the files located inside the ZIP's Bf4 SweetFX + EFX folder to wherever your DragonAgeInquisition.exe is. Make sure that any overlays/OSDs (Origin, FRAPS, MSI Afterburner, etc) are disabled when playing the game, and fullscreen might also be required. I modified the SweetFX settings that came with the download I linked. The only options I have enabled are LumaSharpen, Gaussian, Vibrance, and Curves, so here are my settings (located in SweetFX_settings.txt) for those:
LumaSharpen
// -- Sharpening --
#define sharp_strength 2.65
#define sharp_clamp 0.035
// -- Advanced sharpening settings --
#define pattern 2
#define offset_bias 1.0
// -- Debug sharpening settings --
#define show_sharpen 0
Gaussian Blur
#define GaussEffect 2
#define GaussQuality 1
#define GaussSigma 3
#define GaussBloomWarmth 2
#define GaussThreshold 0.50
#define GaussExposure 23.0
#define GaussStrength 0.23
Vibrance
#define Vibrance 0.15
#define Vibrance_RGB_balance float3(1.00, 1.00, 1.00)
Curves
#define Curves_mode 0
#define Curves_contrast 0.65
// -- Advanced curve settings --
#define Curves_formula 3
This SweetFX version also has its own FPS counter that shows up every time the game starts, but you can just press the Insert key to turn it off.
You'll also get SweetFX and eFX both taking screenshots in addition to the game itself when you press your PrintScreen key. Since I was just interested in the SweetFX screenshots, as they seem to be taken the fastest while also showing all the SweetFX changes, I edited the SweetFX_settings.txt file and changed this:
// key_screenshot = 44 ; 44 = Printscreen
to this:
// key_screenshot = 107 ; 107 = Numlock Add
So, I'm now using the + key on my numpad to take screenshots. I ended up going a step further and, using the program that allows me to use my extra mouse buttons in-game, bound that Numlock Add key to one of my extra mouse buttons. Basically, I just press the extra button on the right side of my mouse to take screenshots now.
[Workaround] NVIDIA driver crashes and the infamous White Screen
I was able to prevent the game from crashing every few minutes yesterday. This might not work for everyone but at least you should try it. Follow these steps:
1. Start the game.
2. Open the graphics options in the main menu.
3. Set Post Processing Quality (and Post Process Antialiasing) to Low or Medium.
4. Restart the game.
5. Play the game without frustrating crashes.
In case you can't even reach the main menu try the following:
1. Download Notepad++
2. Go to C:\Users\[personal folder]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save and open ProfileOptions_profile with Notepad++
3. Search for GstRender.AntiAliasingPost and GstRender.PostProcessQuality and set the values for both entries to 1.
