Just a question out of the blue: what's your favourite Cullen moment in the whole game?

Personally I'm torn between

I think this game is just less intimate than DA2, and that shows in the friendship with someone like Varric.

First I thought that's because DA2 is not about saving the world. However, DA:O is really about saving the world (well... Ferelden), but everyone's just getting quite intimate... Small scale fireside camp & small number of inner circle there probably? Skyhold's so huuge & filled with pointless NPCs that there's no room to be really intimate with ALL companions/advisors.

Oh yeah, the "fireside feel" of DAO definitely added to the intimacy of the game... and also the fact that those folks were really your only friends.

DA2 was kinda lacking this with everyone spread out all over Kirkwall, but even so, they were your family (plus you had your ACTUAL family, too.)

I think that's why we have the wicked grace game. Just a little to show us that they do interact with each other and such, it's just it's such a small time frame, not like 6 years for DA2 and a year for Origins but only a matter of months? And in that time things are pretty hectic, not really too much time to take a breather.

What armor type is that? I noticed that Cullen's hand clips through the heavy armor hood. I haven't gotten that far with medium or light armor to test...

Plus night time... and that soothing music

I love it how everywhere it's just daylight & at camp it's always night. Gave me a sensation that all adventures happen during day, and every night everyone are just gathering together around the fire.

DA2 you also has a home... with loving family member(s) inside. What's better than that?

See and I felt zero connection with most of the DA2 companions. I felt like I was just there to run their personal errands or be their psychiatrist. It's fascinating how differing opinions are on things like this. Guess it really depends on one's state of mind when you're playing too.

I haven't finished my Cullen romance playthrough yet, but so far I'm eating up the mage specific dialogue (even though some may argue that Cullen/mage is cliche- I like it :))

This is how I felt as well. Also, that the IQ for all intents and purposes is the most powerful person in Thedas. That "larger than life" persona is very intimidating, so it would make sense that he/she would only be able to let a couple people in close (even within the Inner Circle). Obviously a LI is one of those people. I felt that the IQ gets very close with Cullen (beyond just sexy-time) and I also felt that he/she gets close to Dorian and Bull (even without a romance). Cass as well...

It's light armor - Sturdy Battlemage Armor. His hand clips through the hood for it as well. :(

Yeah, I felt the same too for the most part. DA2 companions were really not that memorable to me. I avoided Merrill and Isabella like the plague and only did their stuff to advance quest-lines.

Ah, can't wait to get there with Ever. She's doing clean-up stuff now before she goes to the Arbor Wilds. The heavy armor clippage was pretty terrible. It looks like the light armor hood sticks out a little less.

What material was that? The inside liner of the hood is so pretty!

Have you seen the comic (and accompanying short short story by Mr. Gaider) about Zevran agreeing to accompany the Warden on his calling? It's a male Warden but he'd do the same for a female beloved, of course.

When I think about it, I think the love interests I chose in both games were the most loyal... Zevran and Fenris. My babies <3

No! I've never seen or read it, and it sounds like something I'd like. Gaider does tears really well.

Has anyone actually started playing? I've been dying to play but no one is ever available! This is on PC though.

I want to try it, but due to my continuing DAI luck (I injured my hand slightly on XMas Day once I actually had the game on my own computer and can only play for a few minutes at a time), I don't have an IQ who's higher than level 4 yet. :P   I could get my daughter to load the PT from her computer who was level 9, dunno if that's far enough for MP or not, though I don't intend to continue playing that one. Though that doesn't do much good until I can actually play for more than 30 minutes at a time ;)

So I posted a question way late last night, but since we have more people on now I was curious as to the answer:

Can anybody confirm that Bull's romance doesn't actually lock in after the 1st sex scene? The 1st scene does indeed have the "start romance with Iron Bull" indicator, but it didn't lock on me. I was able to start Cullen's romance without him bringing up Bull. Then after starting Cullen's romance, Bull's romance just disappeared - no break-up or anything.

Is there any elf-specific dialogue with Cullen? I'm trying to make a new Cullenmancer and I can't decide if I should go for the Circle Mage again (because I lurv the idea of a former circle mage and a former templar) or if I should make a Dalish Mage (in which case I'll have to dodge the Solas romance, which may actually be difficult because I feel like he's such a good choice for a Dalish character).

Before the game launched there was talk about Cullen defending an elven inquisitor at Halamshiral, is that something that's in the game?

Speaking of Cullen's sister.... now that we know Cullen's last name what do you think the chances are of her showing up in DLC or future installments of DA? I have an idea of how it would go...

Another day of judging enemies of the inquisition. Evelyn sighed as she made her way to her throne. Hundreds of inquisition agents, soldiers, and the occasional villager lined the grand hall. Sitting down, Evelyn rested her head in her hands. Who am I judging again today...? She glanced around. And where is Josephine? She's never late to a trial. She must be wetting her pants right about now.

Suddenly a gleam of royal red and worn silver caught her eye as Cullen came striding down the carpet towards her. Evelyn lifted her head, a smile flitting across her lips. His eyes were narrowed, cheeks flushed, no doubt from a swift walk from his office. "Inquisitor," he said his voice sliding into her like a steel blade, all traces of adoration from the night before only echoes bouncing off the far recesses of her mind. Evelyn loved entering power mode just as much as he and immediately slid into her mental armor.

Mimicking his tone, she replied, "Yes, Commander?"

"The convicted today was another one of my men back in Kirkwall, so I am taking over Lady Montilyet's position again," he said.

"Very well," Evelyn beckoned towards the guards at the double doors. "Bring in the accused."

The guards threw open the wide doors and dragged a man adorned from head to foot in iron chains towards the inquisitor. Ignoring the muffled gasps from the audience, Cullen announced the man's crimes. "Ser Keran, you are hereby convicted for the felonies of possession and distribution of raw red lyrium and the murders of a hundred innocent civilians," he gritted his teeth as his voice twisted from formality to loathing. "I gave you a chance to redeem yourself after the incident with the demon, a mercy not many would have granted. And yet you abused that privilege! Was it really worth it, Keran? Have you made your family proud?" Keran glared at Cullen with the utmost hatred, his eyes bloodshot from the lyrium that coursed through his veins.

"Your fate is now in the hands of the-"

"CULLEN. STANTON. RUTHERFORD. YOU NUG HUMPING BASTARD."

The onlookers' gazes abruptly shifted from the accused to the front door. A woman in modest garments stormed down the center of the hall, finger wagging, profanities bursting from her mouth. The guards at the entrance raced frantically to catch up with her. "We're sorry, Herald! We tried to stop her, but she threatened to write our mothers, she did!"

Evelyn stood up. "What is going on here?!" she demanded. Then she noticed Cullen. His hand that had so firmly grasped the conviction papers before now laid limp, and his cheeks were stark white as his eyes widened in recognition. Just as the woman was about to attack, the guards pinned her arms, restraining her futile struggles.

"Maker's breath, woman!" Cullen said, all signs of power eradicated from his countenance.

"Oh you remember me, do you?" She spat. "After so long I was beginning to think you had forgotten!" Her voice dripped with sarcasm.

"I didn't-" Cullen stammered.

"No of course you didn't! Didn't think to right back to your poor dear sister after the countless letters I've sent! Here you are condemning a man for his crimes! Well in my eyes you are just as guilty as he is. What kind of brother are you?"

Cullen winced.

"Brother....?" Evelyn said incredulously. "Cullen, this is your sister?"

"Andraste's flaming knickers, I am." his sister replied still struggling.

"You poor dear!" Evelyn exclaimed. "Guards! Release this woman. That is no way to treat our guest!" She held out her hand towards the woman. "Please, come. Let me find you a guest chamber to freshen up in. You must have had a long journey."

Ripping her arms from the guards, his sister spat out her tongue at Cullen and followed Evelyn.

"Inquisitor!" Cullen said, looking like a lost puppy. "What about the templar....?" He pointed to Keran who had managed to free himself from two of his chains during the chaos.

Casually waving her arm she said, "Lock him away in the dungeon. I have no time for this." She stopped at the doorway and turned. "Oh and Commander."

He gulped. "Yes, Herald?"

"I would freshen up as well. We're going to have dinner with your sister. I'm sure she has much to share," she winked and shut the door.

I'm not sure how much there is specifically, but where a human can ask about having a title bothering him, an elf can ask if he's bothered that she's Dalish.

I haven't seen the Halamshiral one, but there's a banter in Haven I just heard where a man is apologizing to an elven woman and was apparently chewed out by Cullen (the pair near the gate: he seems to be an agent reporting information back to the elven woman. Most of their banters, he seems to have jumped to conclusions about things).

Edited for top:

Only decent shot I have of one of my IQs with Cullen so far, though Derzka's hair is black in most lighting :P

Not in any important way, but there are a few different conversation options and one or two extra lines, I think?
