OH, I know. I was flirting with him, too, as far as I was concerned. My first playthrough I was convinced I was getting somewhere, too! Then I learned he was just being nice.  <_<  And friendly. And funny. And freaking too adorable for words.

I'm out of likes, but yes. I cannot not romance that fool. It's ridiculous. :P I am half afraid Cullen will be like that and I would like to see some of the other romance options, too! lol

I wonder if all that lyrium in the mountain was knowingly used by our adversary to tear the Veil. It would make some sense.

I mean, think about it...it wouldn't even necessarily require much, just shoot a little magic in the right spot on the mountain, perhaps near the Ashes themselves, and boom. All it would take is true knowledge of the lyrium in the mountain.

It would indeed!
I have this theory that (red)lyrium plays a major role in our adversary's plans and besides the veil tear he(they?) might have caused,he also uses it to corrupt the other factions like the templars, who are obviously the easiest target due to their addiction and possibly the wardens as well.

On top of that...maybe the explosion didn't rip the Veil itself. Maybe the explosion of lyrium, which created Meredith like husks out of those people, killed those thousands of people, and the amount of death in that short amount of time is what blows the Veil straight to hell.

It could be,after all too many deaths in a particular location are known to weaken the veil...Perhaps the amount of  people that happened to die in that particular location at the same time combined with the lyrium explosion, was enough to tear the veil...

Yeah, Cassandra's voice over about the breach startled me briefly because it made it sound like there was only one and that the thing was going to destroy the world in bloody hours rather than the months I imagine the game will probably last. Then I realized that dialogue is probably from very early in the game: at that point Cass probably doesn't know about any other tears or how much time they may or may not have to deal with the matter.

Ah, that could be! Maybe it keeps getting worse and worse as time goes by, and fractures into multiple sites. She just sounds so authoritative with she says that. "We call it the Breach" or whatever word she used. Like they've been studying it for a while for it to have actually acquired a proper noun of a name.

Could the temple be a matter of historical record? If Genitivi followed the trail there, others could, too. He's *the* authority on Andraste, true, but maybe he left some clues behind.

Leliana knows where it is, tho, right? So she probably told the Divine about it I would reckon.

It's interesting that she says "we" call it the breach - so the inquisition is already being formed before your miraculous fade entrance? And you just end up in charge. I thought we'd be the ones founding it, but perhaps the foundation is there and Inq just takes over. Cassandra won't like that, lol!

I think the Inquisition is formed after we moonwalk out of the Fade. And yeah, since the Inquisition is above Seekers...ohhhh that should be fun. XD

We don't really see it, but perhaps she's standing next to Leliana or Varric and the "we" is the two of us or maybe even just her unit after some time.

Puzzle solved: everyone will die a horrible death, except Cassandra, who will die of old age.  Inq walked out of the Fade, because he actually died, but then respawned :)

So I guess Cullen is Bartholomew?  "Here is a man in whom there is no deception."

Omg.You lovely people really know how to make someone feel welcome.

Also this:

Welcome LaiLoranys and stay delurked!! :D

GIF:

Spoiler

...totally made my day.

Now, onto the pictures of Cullen and Alistair, because I love to analyze things needlessly in depth!!   :D

I think a main problem is that Alistair and Cullen already looked a little alike, especially when you look at the DA2 Cullen and DAO Alistiar pictures you posted. But, looking at the DAI Cullen image, you can see several things that read Cullen as opposed to Alistair.

Now, DAI!Cullen does have one thing that says Alistair, and that's his lips. Alistair's mouth is thinner, and DAI!Cullen's lips have a flattish look. And Cullen and Alistair share a very similar brow shape, but DAI!Cullen's looks more like DA2!Cullen's, to me. DAI!Cullen's jaw is shaded too much for me to get a good look, but it looks squarer than Alistair's.

Whew! There!  :D

Hahaha awesome - love this. Thank you for taking the time to create this fine analysis. ;) I see your point and you've definitely made your case. The thing that mostly bothers me is his hairline, and the mouth-to nose-to chin ratio. Both scream Alistair to me. Also-because we can't really see his face due to the unfortunate shading (I mean really. Placing Cullen at the far end of the table, I totally didn't even noticed him the first time I saw the trailer - got completely stuck at Dorian. He looks...delicious..ekhem. - that has to be a crime somewhere.), like you've already pointed out, his jawline is almost invisible.

I really hope his lips will make a return. He'll need them for the tense make-out sessions with my Inquisitor.   :P  hehe

My first thought when I saw Cullen 3.0 was: "MARRIC WALKS AMONG US!"    I mean, Cullen 3.0 looks nothing like Cullen 1.0. I don't think they have anything in common. He looks like I've always imagined Marric. He looks more like Marric than Cailan and Alistair.

I don't really have a problem with that. I guess the designers simply decided to make Cullen the embodiment of his name.

haha yeah he has that Theirin quality to him! Also the out fit looks very regal. I totally mis his sword of mercy flap...ok that sounds a bit suspicious. You all know what I mean though, right? The concept art from the leaked survey? There was a picture of it a couple of posts ago.

I guess the bottom line is quite clear - we need more pictures of him! Different poses, different facial expressions, both profiles (!!)...also a few risqué ones, while we're at it. For SCIENCE.

Thank you again everyone! I was stunned speechless for a few minutes at your kind reception.

I will most definitely join the discussion more often from now on.

I'm sorry for this late post interrupting any kind of different discussion- I can't seem to catch up.

Well yes. The Inquisition sounds like it was the Plan B by Justinia, but us walking out of the Fade is what gets us the title.

If the game starts out at a gathering regarding the Mage/Chantry/Templar conflict, as seems to be the case, it would make sense that each faction present brings their own entourage, faction soldiers and the like, which explains Cassandra being there as well as the remnants of any forces she may have already gathered to back the Divine and/or in her attempt to find answers/solutions to the brewing crisis, as per her part in DA2. So the "we" she refers to is probably that, not necessarily an already-formed inquisition (though I wouldn't be surprised if the Divine/Cass had already been starting a new inquisition, quietly, in the early stages)...

...I wonder if at this point Cassandra's already recruited Cullen to her cause, apart from then Templars proper (just as she's also working outside of the Seekers proper, those who broke from the Divine) and introduces him early on (along with Leliana, also already tied to Cassandra/the Divine) to the Inqusitor as a good choice for a military/war leader. It'd be cool to have Cass think that highly of him :D!

Then again that would negate a plot line of finding Cullen separately and recruiting him to that position yourself... Which would offer - possibly - a more Cullen-centric sub-plot line. I'm excited at the idea of getting Cullen early on, but part of me would also like to enjoy finding him in his own mini-mission thing.

I'm curious to see how we go from freaky fade survivor to head of the inquisition - why exactly would they trust us?

I doubt alot of people will trust us in the beginning. Based on both Cassandra in the trailer, and what the devs have said.

Would you guys stop? Cullen isn't part of the Theirin line.

....

He's Bryce Cousland's bastard son, who he fathered with a castle maid before meeting his wife Eleanor.  :P
