It could be,after all too many deaths in a particular location are known to weaken the veil...Perhaps the amount of  people that happened to die in that particular location at the same time combined with the lyrium explosion, was enough to tear the veil...

This was always what I'd hoped would be the cause. Something that drew on what the Band of Three were talking about in Kirkwall. Dunno if Haven is a source of a lot of death or not. Seems awfully... hopeful of a place, TBH.

I doubt alot of people will trust us in the beginning. Based on both Cassandra in the trailer, and what the devs have said.

I agree.

I especially doubt Cullen will trust anything that comes walking out from the Fade.

Perhaps it's Leliana that cinches it for you - she is the one bowing in the concept art and maybe she had another one of her visions.

I'm curious to see how we go from freaky fade survivor to head of the inquisition - why exactly would they trust us?

Me too especially if we're elves, dwarfs, qunari or mages...I'm mostly curious about what anyone from these races was doing so close to a Place considered sacred by the Chantry and Andrastians in general, what would bring them there...I can see especially a Dalish Inquisitor wanting nothing to do with it.

We don't really see it, but perhaps she's standing next to Leliana or Varric and the "we" is the two of us or maybe even just her unit after some time.

We pick up Varric separately. I believe Mike Laidlaw tweeted that. I'll see if I can find it. :)

Well, remember it probably doesn't even need a lot of death. Magical creatures, like dragons, run rampant on the mountain, plus the mountain is pulsing with lyrium. Sounds like the Veil was waiting to be torn.

Maybe they don't, not really ... Cassandra didn't seem trusting in the trailer! But I'm assuming we'll display the ability to manipulate the tears early on and Cassandra and others will realize that - trust or not - we're still the best bet for affecting the tears. Doesn't mean she - and possibly others - wouldn't be keeping a sharp eye on us!

Incidentally, I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the reason the Devs decided not to use the blood magic Spec: a traditional use of blood magic out in the open around the likes of Cass, Leliana, Viv, Cullen and maybe others may have presented too much of a story challenge to explain away why characters like I mentioned would put up with a demon-courting blood Mage, on top of any other issues of trust they may already have? More so if - as it sounds - our class and specs will apparently (hopefully) have more in-game acknowledgment than previous games.

That's very interesting. I would want this to happen, but that's probably because of my love for Leliana :P

It's interesting that she says "we" call it the breach - so the inquisition is already being formed before your miraculous fade entrance? And you just end up in charge. I thought we'd be the ones founding it, but perhaps the foundation is there and Inq just takes over. Cassandra won't like that, lol!

Well yes. The Inquisition sounds like it was the Plan B by Justinia, but us walking out of the Fade is what gets us the title.

In the Ausgamer article, Cam talks about the founding of the Inquisition. He says they use a "loophole" in Chantry law, after everything goes to hell and the DIvine blows up, to form another Inquisition that stands outside the existing organizations. So it sounds like it's the Chantry failsafe that Cassandra et al. dust off after the Chantry becomes "headless." (edit: Which, ironically, is exactly what I wrote about in The Coming Storm! )

Spoiler

Well, Cassandra clearly doesn't at first.

I'd say that even if the veil wasn't weakened enough in Haven, the lyrium in the mountain combined with the deaths of thousands of people at the same moment who happened to be there was enough to tear it open.Particularly if they died from a possible lyrium explosion like we speculated earlier.

That's a good point. I forgot about the, erm, thousands of dead people in the 'present.'  ^_^

I wonder if the dragons on the mountain could also have had an adverse effect.

Yeah, here it is. My mistake, it was Mark Darrah who said this.

Well, if it were me writing it, I would have Cassandra's interrogation interrupted by the sudden appearance of a Veil tear and a few minor demons spilling out of it. As Cassandra rallies the troops/leaps into battle, the sole survivor starts seeing the code of the Matrix senses he has the power to mend the Tear and leaps into action, whether to protect others or just to save his own ass.

Many awed bystanders witness this act of heroism and there's some hushed whispers about how the survivor has been sent to Thedas by the Maker. Cassandra seems doubtful, but recognizes the Inquisitor could at least be useful and transports him to Orlais to see Leliana, Empress Celene or Morrigan (take your pick). Some backroom deals and politicking ensue, and it's decided that whether or not the Inquisitor is an abomination or indeed a champion of the Maker, he's still the best hope Thedas has right now.

Leliana knows where it is, tho, right? So she probably told the Divine about it I would reckon.

Or Brother Genitivi said so himself. Theoretically, both can die there. If the ashes can resurrect Leliana, they could have resurrected Brother Genitivi, too.

Plus, not everyone recruits Leliana, and of those that do, some may opt to leave her in camp. She really shouldn't know anything about the temple (or what happened in it) unless you brought her there. Neither should Wynne, really, but what are you going to do?

IF you zoom way in you can see the stubble, so he's not completely clean shaven. Again, I wouldn't change it til you see a better shot in better lighting.

This is interesting, but I kind of like the way we discover our magical powers in Skyrim, just kind of by accident. Because I'm not sure my inquisitor will be the "leap into action" kind of guy; more like, run away while all the others are busy with the demons and stuff

This is incredibly off topic, but i was just wondering if the forum still has the "you can't post pictures until 7 days after creating your profile" thing?
