I found that to be a bit creepy actually. Not sure why but it definitely disturbed me a bit.

At least that's how Cullen's explanation came across to me.   Maybe Meredith thought Maddox was in contact with blood mages instead of his beloved and decided to put a definitive end to the threat.

 

Oh, that's an interesting theory. Although if that was the case we'd have to assume Cullen didn't know that's what she thought otherwise he'd definitely mention it since he always seems to be fair even to people he really dislikes. She could have to him that at the time though and then later Cullen could have found out it was love letters. That seems entirely possible.

Considering how Cullen is when I comes to women in general and his dedication to his work, I have a strong feeling he is a virgin up until your Inquisitor sleeps with him. I just cannot see him diving into sex given the length of time it takes him to sleep with your Inquisitor. Beyond that it seems out of his character to drop a few silver down at The Blooming Rose. I'm sure, Cullen, took care of his .... (Clears throat) "frustration" by himself when he had some privacy.

I wonder if Cullen and the Inquisitor will at some point play, " the secret desire demon and the upstanding knight."

 

oh yea i remember how awkward he was talking about the ladies down at the Blooming Rose hahaha. and definitely not. he doesn't seem like the type to joke about demons after everything he's been through ever

Before finishing Adamant the Inquisitor is missing a chunk of her memories, and essentially isn't a wholly complete person (like varric said we are the sum total of our experiences and memories). Getting them back and having that be the moment where she does decide she wants to be with Cullen has a bit more impact. The other way it's like she gets them back and then has to think about it for awhile or something. Anywho, just thought about that and I hadn't before.

See, in my eyes the length of time it takes a couple to become physical doesn't necessarily have any bearing on one or both person's level of experience. For example, my b/f was quite the "playah" in his day. He was the king of "booty calls" and casual encounters. Not my thing, but who am I to fault what he did before he knew me? ANYWAYS, when he met me, he immediately saw something was different and deliberately wanted to take it slow. We didn't become physical for a few months. Not that I'm saying Cullen was the king of "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" or anything...just that his "taking it slow" doesn't need to mean he's a virgin. 

 

BUT, we can all head-canon what we want, which is great! Just wanted to add my personal story to how I came by my theory.

In my main play through neither he nor Nell are virgins, not that I thought he was the type to sleep with whoever was available.
 

I can definitely see why he COULD be though, and why people would headcanon him as such.

Self disclosure, similar to yours.  My husband had (quite) a few sexual partners before me, and with us he was willing to wait quite a (long) while, so I agree with you that experience thing.

Sometimes you can just tell someone is more important.  Which is where my headcanon for Cullen comes from.

In my own headspace, they became intimate long before the actual sex scene occurs. Unlike the scenes in DA:O or DA2, it's not expressly stated that they're having sex for the very first time. Cullen's uncharacteristic smoothness and the familiar intimacy of the "morning after" scene make it difficult for me to believe that it really was the first time. Also, by this point they've known each other for quite a while, and I like to think of them as having a, ah, "active" relationship. YMMV, of course.

I view them more on the line of how, for example Galadriel and Gandalf were displayed in BOTFA. There is an intense amount of caring, but nothing beyond platonic interest. Although, one could easily misconstrue the two.

 

Two of my closest friends are men and I would probably react pretty intensely if something bad happened to them, but that display of love would be entirely platonic. Love =/= romance.

I really must get round to finishing my fic so I can get it all out of my head and move on with my life!

 

 

Oh one other thing, if I can turn to you good people for advice: I want to send a very little something to the Cullenites care package, but alas, I am like Fry from Futurama and have 'stupid fingers'.  I have however come up with a possible heraldry idea for my Quizzy's Cullen, which gets made up for him since she's a human noble.  Would putting that on a card just be creepy, or would it be ok?  I would love to just draw a cute cartoon of Cullen but it will look like a five year old drew it because, stupid fingers, and I can't think of anything else to put in.  My only notable talents are sarcasm and playing Boggle, and that is surprisingly unhelpful.

That's interesting. I didn't get the Wicked Grace game until much later. I did the Ball, then Adamant. I sacrificed Hawke which made Varric sad. Then I did the Bianca questline, and after finishing that I got the Wicked Grace game.
