Although it would undoubtedly make me feel all happy inside to see my IQ marry Cullen, I do find that thinking too much about their future kind of ruins the romance for me. Like, right now it is all sweet and perfect, they say just the right things, I go "aww". But the thought of them up in the middle of the night changing diapers, and then being kind of cranky with each other the next day cauz they didn't get enough sleep, it is obviously not very romantic. Of course the reality is that not every aspect of relationships/marriage/family is romantic or sweet or perfect, but since this is a game and not reality, I guess I just don't like to imagine anything except for the cute romantic scenes where everything seems perfect. I dunno if that makes any sense, lol.

This! That is all. I'm not a big fan of pushing marriage, kids, other domestic aspect to "family" on a universe that just doesn't support it very well. It just would be very out-of-place in this scenario, imo. Also as a DLC focal point = it would just be too much fan service.

That, and I really don't want to play house with the DA cast.

Happy New Years everyone! My whole family is sick with a cold atm, so I doubt I will even make it to midnight, lol. My New Year's celebration plan for tonight is currently: get the kids to bed, play DAI for a little bit, then go to bed :)

I've seen some Lavellan's with a wolf tarot as well.

Still a GoT reference too... Among other things.   :P

Official tarot card???

Official tarot card???

I think it depends on whether you're a mage or not. I remember being so confused seeing a bunch of people talk about their Lavellan's stag card while I was sitting in the corner "But mine's a wolf??"

And I'm not certain same-sex marriage is considered off the table by the writers. Didn't they discover they'd given Arl Eamon and Teagan two different fathers, and one of the writers proposed they were a same sex couple?

I don't remember about this anymore, can you please remind me?

Same, since I'm quite sick now & don't wish to climb that hill tonight with friends (they do this every year, go to the highest point outside town & see the stars/fireworks. In winter.

Ah OK I see. I'm playing a mage Lavellan so it's stag.

I still like the idea of talking about their future together, not actually going off and having a wedding and playing them raising a family.  In Cullen's scene he says he doesn't want to move on from her-- he wants a future with her.  I'd like for them to discuss that further.  That future doesn't have to include marriage.

I'd actually imagine it wouldn't be in Orlais but rather loveless marriages are usual and there is lot of lovers. At least with nobles, since they still want to keep birthlines intact ^^ Rivaini in other hand could be different story :)

But it would be nice to get some canon information of this by devs. I'm not sure if they would answer but maybe I could ask Gaider in tumblr.. and probaply start very fiery tumblr debate if he decides to answer XD

So France has system like that. My country Finland is going to have two at same time, it was voted and approved by parliament month ago or so. Equal marriage with equal adoption laws I think. It's nice that they are going for both same time.

I wish the state I lived in would do that (instead they seem intent on returning to the sixteenth century or earlier, sigh). For my daughter to marry her partner, we'll have to make a road trip to another state, at least 18 hours each way, and it won't be recognized by the state, but it will be by the federal government. And honestly, even then, they'll have very few legal protections.

Good morning Cullenites! In celebration of 2015, have what I imagine a "Cullen selfie" would look like! Because you know he would never smile for a "selfie!"

I'll be heading out to a beach this evening. Hopefully, it won't be too crazy.

So I am the only one that thinks it would be hilarious that while being briefed at the war table for Quizzy to suddenly stop mid sentence, and have to run over to be sick in a flowerpot? That pesky morning sickness!

So proud I live in a state where same sex marriage is legal...and was one of the first to do so...

Mine literally has it on the table. I believe it's suppose to go into effect in a few months. Surprisingly being a 'swing' state has actually paid off in this case.

Hmm, I don't remember when or the two names, but they've used two different men's names as Eamon's and Teagan's father by accident in codexes or something. Someone pointed it out, and one of the writers, maybe Patrick Weekes, suggested that they resolve it by having "two dads!" It was two to three months ago, I think, maybe someone else remembers where the posts were?

Finished my first playthrough last night and am going through a period of post-game melancholy that seems to happen every time I finish a BW game.  I had read about people having 120+ hour runs, and I clocked in at 108 hours, having done just about everything, so I expected a rather more drawn out finale.  I wasn't quite ready for the story to be over, nor to say goodbye to those characters.  I expect to do at least two more runs, to be sure, but it's never quite the same after the first time.

Does anyone else get like this?  My husband's noted that I seem down today, but I can't even begin to explain why to him, as it's too embarrassing.  Instead I've been writing fan fiction -- another thing that I can't even begin to explain.

On a sunnier note, Happy (Slightly Early) New Years, Cullenites!

On an unrelated note, I sort of wish this forum had a dislike button. Yea I know it would be overall bad, but I really want to dislike every post I see saying Cass is actually a man and not a chick :( Makes me sad.

Just a question, is there an official ceremony on same sex marriage in front of the Mayor or things like that in the US?

In France it's the mayor who perform the ceremony in the City Hall. A couple who did that show me the video that the Mayor jokes about how now he can kiss the cheeks of both brides  . On man-woman marriage he can only kiss the cheeks of the bride & shake the hand of the groom. It was really funny  . He got a huge hug from both the brides in addition.

Weirdly no, I was quite prepared when finally the end comes & accept that the journey with this inquisitor is finished. Then start making a new one an hour later.

However I understand how you feel, I was like that every time I finished a DA:O PT. Weirdly I invested the same emotional attachment to both my Wardens & Inquisitors.

Its not just you, I totally get this too! I'm at 110 hours and just did Temple of Mythal, I'm dragging this out as much as I can because I'm just having so much fun with it and I'm not ready to be done. Probably I'm wearing out poor Cullen's lips asking for a kiss so often, too

Off topic, all the talk of marriage reminds me of my lady Cousland in DAO informing the whole Landsmeet that she and Alistair would get married and rule together. After, Alistair is all like, "Gee, think you could have run that by me first??"  :D

I know what you mean.  I want to dislike all the threads and comments complaining about Cassandra and Josephine as romance options for men seeking women.  How annoying.  I rarely stray from the Solas (and now the Cullen) threads, at least though.

O I know, that's the topic about a guy who was asking about why male quizzy only get one IQ. Then someone told him that for straight males he only get Josie since Cass is basically a man or something like that.

Weird, Cass attract me much more than Josie. And as her being a woman, I find all her being & attitudes & everything so endearing.

Ah, you refer to those afflicted with 'Non rigiditis, Totalus non Queerus'. They are men who judge that a creature is male or female depending on whether or not they get, ahem, rigid. If rigidity is not triggered, then the creature must be a man because they are 'totally not gay'. And the value of a woman is judged by her ability to cause rigidity. *nod nod*

*this post was tongue in cheek*
