There is a scene, it's just different and doesn't involve Kieran.

Now I'm intrigued.

We can agree to disagree here. I can totally see why some people would want this to be a possibility, I personally just can't see it.

You can't really compare our in-game situation with "working parents." I had working parents and I went to day care, but my parents were home after work each day. In the case of the Inquisition, our protag is a warlord on campaign and is hardly ever "home." If in a relationship with any of the companions, I would imagine they would be away on campaign at the same time. If in a relationship with Cullen, then again...he's the leader of the forces. When would have have time? Josie is the only one I could potentially see.

I honestly think we are just seeing things differently here. You say IQ is out all the time but for me I think she's home as much as she's out too, considering all the million and one things that you have to do at Skyhold. There also the fact that I think Cullen is at Skyhold more than IQ - we rarely see him leave. I don't see him changing diapers (lol) but I do think he would spend time and be there for his kid. Everything could also be solved with a nanny.

I think Cullen would be against a nanny lol. He seems like such a fatherly type. I could see him being the kind of father that makes it his mission to teach his kid how to protect him/herself from everything he had to deal with throughout his life. He'd be the dad that would teach the child how to use a sword, ride a horse, play chess, and wouldn't demand anything other than that the child be true to his heart. Mushy... but that's how I feel :)

That's how a pregnancy plot line would go for me. Just doesn't make any real sense in the context of the game world state.

I will agree to disagree on the matter and respect all headcanons :)

Is there a video of Cullen breaking up with the Inquisitor? I can only find scenes where she breaks up with him.

I don't know about Bastila, but Morrigan did drop everything and go into hiding.

How could the IQ take XX # of months off campaigning to have a baby? And who would take care of it while she was away? Sure, other people could raise the children for them, but I just don't see either of them having the time. And what if Skyhold were attacked? That's certainly a possibility.

On the subject of pregnancy in game, I think the gameplay issues are being glossed over a bit as well. Does anyone remember Aerie's baby she carried around in a backpack BGII?? There are certain degrees of awkward with a game like DA. Note that Morrigan's birth and childrearing all took place off camera, and anytime she does something, the kid is conveniently absent or with a grandparent (*ahem*). Like in most non-family-focused TV shows, for example. In a setting like DA:I, sure, folks can easily have kids and that's why there were wet nurses and the like in the Real World, as nobility often outsourced their childrearing. In a video game, it will be hard to include in meaningful way that's not silly (see again: aerie backpack baby) or mostly off camera.

All that being said, if BW wanted to tackle it, I'm sure they could figure it out and improve on BGII, but I doubt they would put their zots there. Particularly given how few they allocate to the romances as it is.

Thinking on the subject of children, I could see Cullen desiring a family, and as my Cullen-romancing IQ is a noble, she would certainly have given thought to perpetuating the bloodline (and has relatives who would helpfully pester her about it).  But it's difficult to headcanon without knowing where BW are going with the future state of the world.

That said, my epilogue slides suggested that things had become relatively peaceful (well, aside from Divine McStabbity painting the Chantry walls red, but my IQ would definitely not be taking part in that), so I could see them concluding that "now" might be the time to do it.  I don't assume that my IQ would be off campaigning all of the time, because I'm not sure what, if anything, she would be campaigning for.

Of course, there would be some serious political repercussions to all that.  I imagine that the childless rules of Fereldan and Orlais would look upon a fertile Inquisition power couple with some unease.  Like Blackwall says, like it or not, it's all about bloodlines, legacies and heirs.  Any kid of theirs would be a target.  And while "protect and nuture your family" is the sort of game I might find interesting, I would never expect to see any official content pertaining to it, or to marriage.  It's just too niche.

I see him as more laid back and less fretting. He deals with the important bigger picture but details aren't so important.

That's nice. Other people would like the option though. You wouldn't have to take it if you weren't inclined to.

I'd love opening up the inventory, switching to valuables and just seeing

aeries-babyL.jpg

Though if s/he were in the valuables pocket, I'd probably accidentally end up selling them. Oh well.

Oh man I forgot about the back pack baby. Couldn't you sell it to a vendor or am I mistaken?

That's probably another reason why kids weren't tackled as a storyline.

I agree, but I just don't see a plot-relevant reason for Cullen and the Inquisitor to have a baby together during the events of the Inquisition or in any DLC.  They could talk about the possibility of having children in the future (other Bioware romances have done that- Garrus, Liara, Alistair, Anders, Merrill).  I think Cullen would definitely want a family.

Speaking of the valuables pocket... that needs to turn back into a junk pocket... I would move all my bad equipment to the valuables pocket and kept selling creature items and quest items by accident

Yes, there was a disturbing lack of moth-eaten scarves in this game.

I wondered about that as well, but you can only sell it. Maybe it was for a cut sidequest or something...

I agree. Personally, I would LOVE to see my inquisitor get married and have children with Cullen. But let's be honest. There's so many more DLC's that could answer vital questions about the main storyline/world that I think the devs would be more inclined to make over a marriage DLC. Other DLC's would probably sell better because not everyone wants their LI's to get married, but most people (hypothetical situation here) would want to find out what happened to Solas. Y'know?

I like how Cullen's codex updates after his romance scene and in his letters with Mia, she says (paraphrased)... "You seem happier in your last letter.  But, she's _______ now?  Not Inquisitor? Not Herald of Andraste?"

And Cullen is like, "I'll write a longer letter soon... stop prying."

lol!

She sounds like she could scold him for not eating the vegetables or fail to repair that hole on the roof of his quarter
