Honestly,I couldn't agree more!Nope nope nope. I sincerely am praying neither Andraste and Shartan have anything to do with Solas and Mythal, cause that's just too much of a stretch in my opinion.

I personally find the whole Fen'Harel/Mythal thing interesting enough that Andraste/Shartan don't really need to be thrown into the mix. Plus, why would they wanna be involved in the rise of a human religion anyway?

It could be they were more concerned about freeing the elven slaves, the creation of the chantry was a side effect.

Perhaps. Time will tell, I'm sure!

It could be that the humans and elves just perceived what happened differently and constructed their own religions based off of it.

Indeed. Heh. I will have to collect this little fan theory and hold it tight as I prepare for my disappointment.

Exactly, I'd rather that end of the lore be its own thing, entangled with the concept of "The Maker".

Yeah the whole Andraste thing gets enough air time anyway.

Cole reckons the Maker does exist but he's far away now or something.

Sorry for chipping in the middle of the super interesting lore conversation

but I absolutely adore Sera. She's bonkers and I love it. She's one of my fav companions, with crazy talks, pranks, roof time etc. She feels very real (especially in her fears) and down to earth on many levels but at the same time allows my quizzy to get some levity in her super serious world saving business. I don't mention her in here since I usually try not to go too much off topic. As for her romance, I haven't played through it yet --> I cannot decide on the Quizzy
I know right, Sera is amazing. She has become my IQ's crazy silly BFF in the same way Isabella was my Hawke's (which is funny because Quizzie also has a Responsible Big Sister figure in Cassandra, same as my Hawke had in Aveline). There are a lot of layers to Sera's "crazy" that are very interesting to peel off, some emotional walls that are very fulfilling to tear down. What she told my BFF Quizzie in the goodbyes scene was one of the my favorite companion moments in the game.
As for her romance... if you want her romance to go super easy, go with a qunari. She's crazy about qunari women.
If you want a very slight (very slight) touch of angst, go with a human or dwarf. If you want a challenge, Nightmare mode, "I will break your walls down and make you love me Sera you just watch me" story... romance her with an elf. I liked romancing Sera with a qunari for the lols, because she's so giddy about them giant horned women, but the romance with Lavellan was the most emotionally fulfilling for me. It was like romancing Zevran again - break her down until you see the real person behind the jokes, then help her pick up the pieces and rebuild herself into a happier person, more honest with herself and her feelings for you. 10/10, would eat cookies on rooftops with again.

I wouldn't be surprised. I think all the deities exist on some level.

Jw... are there other continents besides Thedas? Potential for more exploration once the areas of Thedas are exhausted?

I should add I've kept her in the party constantly since I've gotten her, in spite of the sniping between her and Solas. But I react to her as an LI the same way I did to Merrill, and I'm not even sure why. I also don't like what I was told:

Yeah, the "everyone must be an ancient elven god" notion has gotten a little out of hand. But... Shartan does look like Solas.
And Solas does have a thing about slavery.

But there's certainly more than enough to chew with just the Fen'Harel myth.
Must you two rub it in my face
Sorry lady. Let that read: preparing for my lesser disappointment.

Mmm... except that some of them we've met in the flesh, which DG said they'd never do... I dunno. I really hope that means the elven gods are just immortal elven dudes. I'd prefer they stick to their guns and not have faith explained.

Wow, I go take a nap, and the board explodes with pages of lore speculation.
I'm guessing no one involved in this discussion has done a dwarven PT? From what I've gathered on that board from those who've completed one (and I haven't so I only have bits and pieces), you might want to make certain you're taking dwarven history and lore into account in your speculations, especially when it comes to red lyrium and the blight. I'm pretty certain if you only look at humans and elves, you might hare off without some important pieces (and I'm wondering about qunari and their connection to dragons as well).

No, Gaider said that the Maker would remain unexplained, which I prefer.
I don't mind digging into the Elven pantheon at all. I want to know the mechanism of their immortality and "godhood".

What extra things do we learn as a dwarf?

They do look alike! My initial reaction was "wow",but then again we know that originally Solas was supposed to have dreads(I don't know if there was a pun intended

I've never seen him comment specifically about just the Maker. Only about faith in general, and how they don't want to follow the DnD model of having gods walking around as characters in their games. Which is kinda sorta what seems to have happened with this one.

Surely that would turn up some different theories/dwarven lore in-game though? Like how playing as an Elf gives you some different bits and pieces.

*Nods* Behind all the quips and crazy talk there is a vulnerable girl that I really want to hug most of the time. To me she is a classic example of dealing with her fears in a cocky way, head first, that's why she's pretty blunt, heart on a sleeve. The fact that she's questioning our decisions from a common person point of view is great. I actually never thought of that but she's probably the closest female companion for both of my Quizzies I rolled so far. Love the rooftop cookies with her. I always imagine my Quizzy sneaking out with her to unwind a bit.
Thanks for the tip on romance, cause I was really considering Qungirl for her (and I wanted one for Blackwall >.<) since she sounds very excited about them in convo with IB but the way you describe it I am very tempted to run Dalish with her. I might tackle BW firt then cause I so want to finally play my Qunari girl. Ehh... Decision we have to make.... ![]()

True, although it seems that the Elven gods weren't gods in the traditional sense, just very powerful elves... kinda like how some Kings/Queens were thought of as gods, even though they aren't really.
