They do look alike! My initial reaction was "wow",but then again we know that originally Solas was supposed to have dreads(I don't know if there was a pun intended :D) and they went for the bald look later on.

LOL Yeah, given that they went through so many iterations on Solas, it's hard to say. Altho, a lot of concept art they're using now has been around since DA:O, as are their ideas on the elven lore that were revealed during the  post-credit scene. So they could've been planning his look since then as well.

Of course, I doubt it,. But it's possible. :P

What extra things do we learn as a dwarf?

I kind of hesitate to give specifics because I haven't been through or watched much myself. But from the way several people have talked, there is some information about dwarves picked up particularly in the Hissing Wastes, and there is some banter particularly with Solas that hints at some things. I believe in DA2, though, you discover a thaig with actual pantheons of gods rather than the Stone and Ancestors (not to mention the Red Lyrium Idol). And there are things about Cadash Thaig/Cad'halash being destroyed because the dwarves took in elves after the end of Arlathan.

I think she meant POV or perspective, not PT.

Exactly, though I think there is some new lore as well, and speculation about what the Stone is, now that we know that red lyrium is alive...

True, although it seems that the Elven gods weren't gods in the traditional sense, just very powerful elves... kinda like how some Kings/Queens were thought of as gods, even though they aren't really.

This is how I'm interpreting it.

Of course, what we *do* have here is a story about what it means to be a god... and DG *has* said:

"All of this is, of course, open to interpretation. That's part of the point of faith, if you ask me. Were some god to appear on earth and tell everyone How It Really Is that would destroy the very idea of faith -- though at that point one would have to ask: is such a being really a god? What is a god? What ideas are really worth worship? To me, that's the notion that's worth exploring. Beyond that, all conjecture is welcome. :)"

That's interesting, I'll have to run all the races to see what new info we get with each.

Not to interrupt the multi-page convo regarding elves and such, but I came across a metal cover of the main theme on youtube...pretty cool!

It's also interesting to note that on Flemeth's grimoire in DAO, it's mentioned as having a leafless tree on the cover and similar trees appear in both the Crossroads and depicted on the Dalish banners.

...yeah... but then as I see pictures of The Acerbic Dowager and  The Kindly Knight all over Thedas in DA:I, I think they also just recycle art a lot, too.  =]

I should add I've kept her in the party constantly since I've gotten her, in spite of the sniping between her and Solas. But I react to her as an LI the same way I did to Merrill, and I'm not even sure why. I also don't like what I was told:

Spoiler

Heh, no worries. I was on a fence with Merril for a long time. Now I love her to bits but there are still things that make me roll my eyes. I was very excited about Sera from the start  (early concepts etc) and when I finally played the game I was surprised how different she was from my imagination. I can understand that she can annoy a lot of people. I may have a weakness for crazy. And she's got tons of it. I just feel that behind all the blunt comments and sometimes confrontational demeanor there are real fears, she does not reveal much about herself and her experiences but I bet there is enough in her past to warrant her opinions. She's also pretty genuine in what she is and what she believes in whether I agree with it or not. And I actually like her bickering with Solas :D As for her Dalish elf romance, I cannot say much since I haven't played it yet. I am intending to, and I am very curious now.

That is very interesting. Id forgotten about the tree on the cover. But I remember that I thought it was strange for her to have such a specific symbol there...one that I didnt associate with flemeth at all.

True, although I like to think that the reason for Oghren's concept art being hung in the Hanged Man is because in the six months between Origins and Awakening, he went on an international booze cruise and ended up on the wall of fame in bars from the Free Marches to Nevarra. :P

But they do reuse a lot of art, that one of the Avvar village seems to be used a ton.

Oh, thats a good point.

But I like the idea that they had that hint there so long before DAI. I think im going to adopt that belief until its proven wrong.

Well, she was fiddling around with the mirror at the end, so maybe she'd just sent off some of Mythal's essence through the eluvian since she knows Morrigan has access to them. As she said in DA2 "it takes just a small piece".

It makes me wonder if the book on Eluvians that Morrigan stole from Ariane's clan in Witch Hunt, wasn't so much Morrigan pilfering elven lore as much as reclaiming a tome of Flemeth's that she'd left in their care a long time ago. It's weird to look back and realise that the Stolen Throne set up that Flemeth had ties to the Dalish, long before it became in any way relevant to the plot whatsoever.

Now I just want to know what was the debt that Marethari owed to her, that was mentioned to Hawke in DA2?

For what it's worth it, Danarius' portrait from DA2 is scattered all over Orlais too, and I even saw Bryce Cousland's portrait and the Velvet Cailan portrait somewhere in the wilderness regions. Random meaningless art resource reuse is done a lot thorought the game.
