Cullen romancers: I have a question.
I never understood his appeal until well into this game. I'm playing a Keeper's First who started off prejudiced against him for being a human Templar who dedicated his life to imprisoning mages and supporting the Chantry that outlawed the elven religion. However, as my character got to know him, he really grew on her. By Skyhold, after I (the player) learned that he's the only adviser who successfully saves Clan Lavellan from being attacked, my character started to consider him a friend since he saved her people. By the Wicked Grace game and the Chess game, she really started to consider him a dear friend; and I imagine their bond sealed after she helped him with his lyrium addiction.
However, she wouldn't dream of flirting by that point since she was already committed to Solas. While I love Solas for her for this playthrough, now I'm seriously tempted to make another Keeper's First who slowly falls for Cullen; but I don't want her to start flirting with Cullen right off the bat. Like my current character, I want him to slowly grow on her as her prejudices against Templars are proven wrong.
So, my question is: How late is too late to start flirting? I've heard some romances are harder than others; like, you have to pick every flirt option from the very beginning and keep at it for them to reciprocate. (*cough*Solas*cough*) Since Cullen is pretty tight-laced, I imagine it's like that for him. While my character will be polite at first and friendly later, I don't want her to start flirting until after they get to Skyhold; preferably after the "rescue Clan Lavellan" war table mission.
Is that too late to start flirting and keep the romance going?
