Kind of spread out since I asked the Solas thread what they would like to see in a story.

 

Ah okay so you would be interested in say a fic that more so involved a romance betwe- wait a minute....ideas are now coming!

 

So this is literally spur of the moment, but what about a story that focused on the Dread Wolf and an ancestor of Lavellan? So then once that story is over there comes a Part II which is happening with Solas and present day Lavellan.

*Gasps* I just found the theme for my story with your idea! I will post a video of the song that will hopefully bring it across. That is a good idea, but I am also thinking about maybe a one-shot or a three part story with a young Solas. We know he used to be rather wild back when he was younger so that could be fun to write. I don't think a lot of people would had made a story like that...then again I could be very wrong.

Oh,that´s great! Btw,does anyone know who the main writer for Champions of the Just and Under Her Skin was?

 

I've been trying to find out who wrote those quests since I first did them, but I can't find a reference anywhere! I want to high five the writer(s) for those two into next year for writing such good quests, with such interesting characters and such damn good moral questioning, but they just never mention it.

I'm rather fond of the reincarnation idea, though I'm not so sure how it would fit into DA lore.  Meaning, the reason why Solas is so focused on her spirit is because he was in love with her soul in one of her previous lives when he was younger.

I'm rather fond of the reincarnation idea, though I'm not so sure how it would fit into DA lore.  Meaning, the reason why Solas is so focused on her spirit is because he was in love with her soul in one of her previous lives when he was younger.

I agree. I am certainly going to be careful with the lore and how far I can stretch it since I love the lore as is...but I never thought Time magic would had been possible so who knows. Yeah I am debating the idea whether or not to go with the idea that she and Solas went to sleep with one another, but someone woke separated and with their memories of one another forgotten...but the feelings still so intense. Or go with a scenario like the one you detailed.

I think the only point where you can start the Blackwall romance is in his first cutscene in Skyhold on the battlements.  As for starting Cullen's romance, I'm guessing it's possible to romance Cullen after you dump Blackwall.  I can't confirm it, but I don't see why it isn't possible since Cullen is one of the few romances you can start at any point.

I sort of have this theory that they might die in a DLC,maybe the anchor is the key to whatever Solas is doing and separating the inquisitor and the mark would result in their death?

I think there's a possibility for the Inquisitor to die or have some other grim fate in any post-ending DLC.  It seems that the game was set up for post-ending DLC, regardless, so we'll see.

*cracks nuckles and puts on official Cullen and Blackwall two-timer and serial romancer hat*

The earliest you can (and should) activate Blackwall's romance is the first time you speak to him after reaching Skyhold. If you don't take the flirt option in this dialogue, you lock yourself out of BW's romance - even though you still have flirt options later and can continue friendly-flirting with him to the end of the game without hindering your Cullen romance, for instance, the quest that leads up to his first kiss scene never activates. That's actually the safest way to be able to flirt with him later without actually entering his romance, for the record.

Once you've flirted with Blackwall in the battlements, congratulations - you're suspended in a state of quasi-romance with him, and you'll have to break it off to pursue someone else. You can do this with as simple as a dialogue option under Special, without progressing his romance, if you activated it accidentally. Cullen will reject you if you try to approach him during this state, so you'll want to avoid conversations that would lead to flirts with him, because those will go to waste now and you'll need them later. Now is also the time to make your choice: who do you want to dance with at the ball. This will determine when you should break up with Blackwall. Since Revelations only starts after both Abyss and Wicked are completed, leaving the breakup to this point of the romance means you spend the ball with Blackwall and miss out on Cullen's dance.

If you're fine with that, proceed romancing Blackwall through his kiss/sex scene, his barn sex scene, the ball, and his personal quest at last, where you can finally break up with him. If you've been frugal on Cullen conversations so far (though it's totally fine to complete his lyrium quest meanwhile) and saved at least two flirts to activate the "let's talk about us" dialogue option, you'll now be able to initiate a relationship with him.

If you want to still spend the ball with Cullen despite macking on Blackwall a bit first, you can't progress BW's relationship past his first kiss. He'll give you the option to end things before they really begin right there, and I think the way Quizzie makes him do it is a pretty optimal cue to follow up with Cullen's romance - you break up with Blackwall for not having the courage to pursue his feelings for you, and end up smooched to death by Cullen, who is brave enough to go for it despite all his reservations.

That's basically it: choose your optimal path early, then watch for your cues.

If you want to up the challenge to Nightmare mode, I can also walk you through the hellish but totally achievable Blackwall -> Sera -> Cullen romance path. It took me surprisingly less time to master than the Anders -> Isabela -> Fenris -> Sebastian route.
