I felt super cheated when Varrics still emotional even when stroud went down.

Gave him a hug. And stroud has the music too and he's JUST as emotional! I thought that would've been exclusive to Hawke...varric is just very emotional I guess...

Huh. I find that curious since everyone at Skyhold seems sooooooo sad after that event. I mean, I picked Stroud, and no one even really knows him. It seemed clear to me that they coded it more for the other two big choices, Hawke or Alistair. 

Yeah, it's a bit weird that the dialogue branch didn't go away regardless- especially since I had already exhausted every Hawke question in Haven and there's nothing new to ask.  But, it's like that for other dialogue branches with the companions, too.  This one in particular stood for obvious reasons :/

Ok so a Hawke with a rivalled Varric is no different. You still get the same sad Varric. On a good note though, Hawke was such a Jerk I was fine leaving him behind and I still got to hug Varric so it still worked out

I'm thinking it's not meant to be taken that he literally ends up rolling around in the dirt with his soldiers. He's clearly very experienced at fighting, so if he spends a lot of his time monitoring the new recruits' training sessions the way he does in Haven I don't think they'd be good enough to catch him off guard and push him down. And I don't know if any soldier would have the guts to shove their Commander face first into the dirt, LOL.

 

We know he does spar with Bull, and he probably spars with his soldiers, but since he has other Templars there to help with the training I don't think he does it all the time. Maybe he only steps in to correct their form? Bull says Cullen was able to point out his blind spot during sparring. I'm thinking they just mean he likes to be there and maintain a watchful eye over his precious soldiers as they train. All while sketching portraits of them for his pocket.

I'm a few pages back, but I slept through this convo . Fighting is like any physical sport; the more you practice, the better you are. Skip warm up and practice, and you lose form and reaction time, and I don't see Cullen making that mistake. I don't know that he'd personally step in to spar with rank-and-file trainees, unless one either needed a sharp lesson (bruises from smacks with a training blade are fairly effective teachers when someone isn't trying) or was exceptional. But you can bet he's spending one to two hours a day drilling himself against pells and sparring with the best of the Inquisition's forces - senior templars, chevaliers, whoever. I'd doubt he routinely spars with that coat on, though, unless it really is magically Scotch guarded...

 

BTW, my theory on that coat and his generally minimum armor? They invented it to drive Cullenites mad trying to figure out how you get him out of it.

Leliana's clueless insensitivity towards elves turned me off her as a prospective romance And it's a shame b/c I really would've liked to play a female Warden. I did truly try to play a female Aeducan and romance Alistair; I could've pushed on if the giant dwarf arms hadn't bothered me so much. But mostly I wanted to romance Morrigan with a female character. Alas.

 

Actually, I have to say they probably got Leliana's and Dorian's attitudes exactly right. Historically, those who were privileged in such societies maintained that the serfs/slaves/whatever were much better off with someone else making the decisions for them, and while those who truly held power knew that this was part of how they maintained power, a lot of those in between bought the propaganda. Especially if they only saw what was going on on the surface, as would be Leliana's case. I romanced Leliana with a city elf, and I assumed after that first conversation, there were others when she explained how things really worked. Consider how Leliana in DAI is so passionate about the idea of making changes for more than just mages; I have to believe she's referring to elves, and that her experiences during the Blight educated her.

It's a hard sell world state for me, and i doubt I will ever try it unless I am just bored and wanting to screw around for 20+ hrs.  I always either have warden sacrifice/Alistair king or both go as wardens together.  I may have them as king/queen together in one of the states, but that was one of my least favorite options for my own reasons in the original game.

 

*sigh*  Someone needs to post all these things on youtube so I don't have to do them!!!!

So, I finally finished the main game. Got bored of trying to clear the final few zones and wanted to stop being scared of all the Solas discussions lol. I always felt like Solas was a bit odd, I dunno if I'll try to romance him sometime. Maybe I'll youtube it!

How...how did I miss that?  I always have Dorian in my party and sometimes IB.  I blame lack of banter firing!  Uggg, damnit!!  Course, from what you say, I am kinda glad...

Huh. Wow. Calpernia did absolutely nothing for me. I feel like I saw her for two seconds and my only impression was, "Not Samson." :/ Is she a fan fave?

 

 

Maybe because we met Samson but not Calpernia from DA2, and Samson bring emotional bagage to Cullen. Calpernia... I mean, we never met her in-game with Leliana from DA:O or DA2 so for me, no emotional bagage for Cal. Finally in all due respect, I prefer siding with mages than templars.

Mages got Alexius as Big Bad Boss, and I really love his motive of "I want to save my son". That just show how love can misguiding... A really powerful story, that Alexius. That's the best motive of joining The Elder One compared to all other motives invoked in-game (Duchess Floriane, I'm looking at you...) that I've heard.

 

Plus, Before the Dawn quest gives me my favourite line of Cullen romance: "A life without you? Never"

They end up together if neither is romanced, their ship name is adoribull and it's canon ^^ People are debating quite heavily if it's abusive in Iron Bull's part on tumblr and little on forums as well. The dialogue has some um iffy moments for me that show signs of being abusevise but it so little in context so I am not sure if I am just being overprotective or just unsure of the dialog.

I'm playing through this right now (sacrificed Surana with romanced Warden Alistair). I have Lola on watch for Alistair's last words with this world state as I've seen rumors of what he says but seen no video confirming it. I can poke you too when I get there, if no one comes up with an answer sooner.

Any tips on what order I should hunt and kill the dragons?

 

I took out the Ferelden Frostback and then I went after Vinsomer, but I realized into the fight that she was a couple levels above me at 20 where I was 18 and the party is, of course, a level below me. So I noped out of that before a TPK. I then went after the Northern Hunter, and last night I took out Stormrider in the Exalted Plains.

 

I have access to Sandy Howler and can summon the Abyssal High.

 

I cracked open Emprise last night, and I am thinking about ping-ponging back and forth between it and Emerald Graves. So I will also open up the three in Emprise eventually.
