According to Varric at one point hit sits around polishing his armor with a sad puppy look on his face
I'm pretty sure this is in reference to how often you use him for war table missions. If you use him a lot Varric says he's all smug and he better watch out or Lel will shank him.

Yea, but it's funny to think about it the other way too
I'd hoped that when Varric commented about Cullen being smug it was regarding the blossoming relationship between him and the Inquisitor, but apparently he just likes it when we take his advice, LOL!

FemShep was cringeworthy when she propositioned Garrus too. Thane's wasn't so bad, but have you listened to how she pesters James into bed drunk?
I really just think BW believes all of us to be of the 'your ass in my bed now' approach. A lot of passes PCs make in DA and ME are cringe worthy, imo ![]()

Proud of myself for not complaining about my romance options for the 3103958345th time during this Bull/Dorian discussion
Regarding Bull's romance, Cole allegedly makes a comment during banter about how the inquisitor is in pain during sex but doesn't say anything because he "likes" it. I say "allegedly" because only about five banters fired throughout my entire game.
Cole: You act like you are in charge, The Iron Bull, but it's really him. He decides when and you measure it carefully, enough to enjoy, to energize, but never to anger. He's tied, teased, tantalized, but it's tempered to what he wants. He submits, but you serve.
Bull: Do you mind, kid? If you take all the mystery, it's not quite as hot.
Inquisitor: Bull? Yes it is....
Bull: Right, my mistake. Carry on, kid.

I know some people, as well, I just find it really unhealthy for them.
I've known some who have been really happy for a long time in such a relationship. Done right, if you have the right personalities, it's great apparently. But I've seen two that almost destroyed the sub because it was based exactly on the knowledge that if they didn't agree, the dom would break off the relationship, and the dom knew that's why they were agreeing.

Oh!! Something positive I can say about Bull's relationship
The flirts are cute and not aggressive at all.

No, it's a different one. Bull asks if the inquisitor is uncomfortable with Cole saying that in front of him/her. And Cole specifically says the inquisitor hurts but holds his tongue and doesn't say anything because he likes it.

I fear that the days of BioWare being character driven is rapidly being replaced with flashy large environments and exploration. Perhaps that's the fault of EA since "open world" seems to be buzzword with this new generation of game consoles.
You know what I'd like to see? Telltale making RPG games, now THAT would truly be character driven!
I know... especially with the success of DAI (so many GOTY awards) they may be like hey that's what everyone likes and that's what's making us popular! But a part of me still has hope that they'll listen to the hardcore DA fans, most of us having been fans since the beginning, and backtrack a little bit to include the story more. From all the forums I've looked at, it seems like most of us are in agreement about bringing in more story elements.

Cole: He almost says the word sometimes...katoh. He tastes it in his mouth, a sweet release a breath away, tongue tying it tenderly like you tie him, but he does it for you and for him because it means more. A fuller feeling, a brighter burst.
In this banter, I didn't hear a word about being hurt at all.

Yeah, well, all I have to say to that is that there is "pain," pain and PAIN. Which one is Cole talking about?
He's talking about the pain participants want to feel during BDSM intercourse.
Certain people feel aroused when submitted to a specific kind of pain, either submission or spanking.
But your partner must go slowly if it's your first time. He must discover your body in many ways and study your reaction to different stimuli. Then, he does what arouses you the most. Sometimes you don't know it yourself. So it's his job to find out. And yours as well, when it's your turn to take charge.

I kinda suspect it's them trying to make our femSheps come across as empowered women, "I'm bold, I'm a badass, and when I want schnoo-schnoo you're gonna give it to me!" Kinda thing... it doesn't really translate over too well with such a limited word budget though, LOL!

Yeah that's the one! Well you're supposed to say that special word when it hurts. So if he almost says it...

I think DAI softened a lot of them. Short of during the sex scenes, I don't think any of the Dorian or Bull flirt options were like that.

There's always people like that in life though, be it via sex or just being very demanding and selfish in other aspects of their relationships/friendships. Sometimes you get unlucky and get stuck dating one, lol.

Oh, I know what Cole is talking about. My point is that there are different kinds of pain. Some of it is good pain in this context. That's "pain." Yes, it hurts but not in a way that makes you want it to stop, not so much that you're going to stop it.
The thing is that in order to make the relationship with Bull varied enough to fit people's tastes, they were going to have to actually take the game into the actual scene. They couldn't really do that, not without making DAI a XXX title.

No, you say the word if you feel uncomfortable or you want to stop, not if you're necessarily in pain. Yes, you can most definitely say it if its hurt too much or something, but the "watch word" or "safe word" isn't limited to when you feel pain.

Well I think it's thoughtless to include something like that in banter; maybe being in pain does not turn me on and I am immensely shocked and turned off to hear such a thing in banter lol
I think the whole thing was mishandled. Especially frustrating when it's only one of two options....

Okay I'm not really on the "up and up" with these kinds of s/m relationships lol I assumed Bull was like ramming into him or something and causing all kinds of ruptures and what not, like, owie ![]()

The problem is that the people dishing out these GOTY awards don't sit down and play the games properly in full. Hell, when I first played DAI (glitches aside) for a while there (from prologue to just after reaching the Skyhold) I thought it might actually beat DA:O, but the more you play on the more you see it's story quality start to slip. I suspect most of the award givers blazed through it, likely not even completing it and based their scores off the first 10 hours of the game, if that.

Yes, but part of that kind of bed play is that you are supposed to take your partner to the point of saying it without going past it. The inference here is that they wouldn't be doing it if both parties had no agreed to go there in the first place. That's what the safe word is for, and that's what the implication of Cole's other convo is:
Bull serves as much as the Quizzie submits. Bull has to be very good at taking the Quizzie to the point of breaking without going past. He has to be good at reading the Quizzie and giving them what they want just as much as the Quizzie has to trust and submit. There is no point if Bull takes the Quizzie too far and the Quizzie has to use the safe word.
It's a very elaborate dance of give and take.
But I can see that it's a bit like auto-dialogue only in this case it's auto-sex. All the characters have it, but in this case, you better be prepared to discover that your Quizzie is a submissive.
