Interesting. I may have to look at one because I'm really not thrilled with the hand and arm pain this is causing. Thanks!

I think I paid something around $40 - $50 for mine. It came with the wireless controller and the dongle needed to hook it to the computer (and it will accept up to 4 controllers at a time). I believe there was a disk included as well for the driver. But other than that it was super-d-duper easy to use and hook up (not like trying to use the ps3 controller on a PC...ack...). All you have to do is start the game with the controller on and it will auto-detect it.

I haven't been using R at all, I find it awkward. I'm using the mouse button.

Ah, gotcha.  Using the mouse attack didn't even occur to me for some reason, I guess because my wrist is bad so I always do as little mouse clicking as possible.

This is what the guide says about levels:

Spoiler

Though recommended level also depends on the combination of class/difficulty you're playing. On Easy/Normal you'll only die if you go up against enemies seriously over your level. And even then, you still can cheese fights with enemies way overlevelled depending on your class. On Hard, you should generally be at least the same level as your enemies. On Nightmare, you need to be at the very very least the same level, and depending on which type of enemy in specific, or whether you're a meleer or ranger, you should be at least over their level.

Awesome! Thanks! I totally forgot about Oasis, need to go back and do that asap before I get over-leveled for it. I am playing on Hard. I do find that as long as the enemies are just a few levels above me I can still kill them, for the most part. Like I am level 13, and just finished Cullen's personal quest, and I think those Red Templars were like level 16 maybe, and they were by no means easy, but I survived. The exception is closing rifts and righting those awful Terrors, when they just warp and appear right in front of me and knock me down, I'd rather fight bears lol.

You've yet to use the mod that turns Skyrim into a tropical paradise then?

HA I go for realism. However, that doesn't stop me from appreciating the gems I've seen on YouTube like this:

Yup. And now I hope DA4 never gets made if there's even a slight possibility that they do something like this in the future games.

I think they'd have a hard time recovering from the massive fan exodus that would happen at that point.

Protip from someone who is currently playing on Nightmare and cries every time she sees a Pride demon, leave alone these rifts that are spawning a bunch of them at the same time at my current level ( :pinched:): you can reroll a Rift spawn if you don't like it. Approach it just enough to spawn the first round of enemies, and if what it spawns makes you cry, run away until they unload, then approach the rift again. You'll get a new random spawn, and sometimes it'll spit out a ridiculously easier batch. The last rift I closed spewed out like three Prides, two Great Terrors and two more Despair Demons at me. I noped out at the speed of light, approached it again and the second time it rolled out just one Rage Demon and four of those ghosties. Cheaty, but much more survivable. :P

I highly doubt they would do that tbh. Can you imagine the fan rage? it would dwarf that of the whole ME3 ending fiasco. I can imagine they may want to for simplicity's sake but I imagine someone else in the office would go all Sten-like on them and go "NO"

That's exactly why I think they'd do it. Seriously, if this happens I'm so out, lol.

If they'd used the explosion to clear out all previous characters that may or may not live, the nerd rage on BSN would surpass anything we've ever seen before. Just imagine the Warden, Leliana, Morrigan, Alistair... all of them wiped out by a single big BOOM. Those who didn't rage quit the game would have been very eager to kill the big baddie, though.

The massive exodus would likely be worst than, what they had with ME3 it would lose me that is for sure. They would not recover if they went like that down the rode.

That is so good to know! I had no idea the type of enemies were random!

Unless there was a very very good reason to do it I really can't see it happening. The people higher up the game dev food chain who hold all the money would put their foot down. Those types of people tend to be a skittish bunch who don't like deviating from what they deem as 'safe'  so something that has the potential to alienate consumers would have them freaking out big time.

I'd certainly hope so.

I would stay off the fourms for a year like I had done with the whole me3 ending fiasco if they had done something like this in the game.

I'd have joined the mass protest and if nothing was done to remedy it then I wouldn't bother playing BioWare games anymore. As it is I'm not sure the new route they're taking with their games if for me, so that would certainly be the nail in the coffin.

They will probably do a cleanup of all pending character loose threads and plot branches at some point anyway, because the world is pretty unsustainable as it stands right now with only three games in, but it'll likely be via timeskip rather than explosion. Skip ahead 70 years in the future so everyone is dead/go back 200 years in time so no one has been born yet, and no more Schroendiger's Thedas. No boom necessary.

There is a lot of history to explore in this universe, we don't have to stay forever tied down to this specific point in time.

To me, this feels less like something they would have seriously considered and more like DG joking about all the delicious fan tears this would have provided them with.

I'd prefer that, or just take it to a completely different area of the DA world.

Yeah I think so too, I read it like him being sarcastic :P Anyway,it´ll probably be easier to account for the decisions in DAI in the next game if we´re moving north so,no blasts  are necessary :P

Has anyone stumbled across the messenger tag between the advisors? Josephine organizes tea parties for them (interludes as she calls them). Cullen doesn't want to go and Leliana tries to twist his arm into going.

This is really the only way I'd be happy with not seeing old faces. Can you imagine if they skipped ahead and there was a bunch of new lore surrounding the companions we had in other games? Or what if someone pulled a Flemeth and was alive. My mouth would drop to the floor.
