Yep! I remember those classes being so easy for me. My teacher said that for some learning a language is like a second nature and for others it will take longer. I was one of the ones who caught on fast.

I got the "German plaque" out of everyone in my grade in middle school loll #nerrrrrrrd

Granted, I did do the Templar side first, but it doesn't exactly feel like a natural progression. I will say that I enjoy it more and I think Cole's entrance makes more sense if you meet him in the Fade.

Cole's entrance FTW!

Oh, he's very intense looking! I love the eye color you gave him, and something about his lips makes you want to play with them.

Hands off!  :P

Oh, yeah, people can swear all they want around me although I prefer they not around my kiddo. Being a parent changes things for you.

I speak Russian, but I moved to the US when I was 10, so I do not know any curse words because I had not learned any yet.

O_O Russian curse words are so weird, but amazing. One of my old friends took it as an online course and he has had so much fun with swearing in Russian...he had to get some fun on the side since he was trying to work for Apple.

I never got a plaque...I just got to write my name on the 300 word dictation club. 300 words don't sound like a lot, but for a language that you simply learned it is quite the challenge.

Yeah!  That is what made me write this.  I got to thinking about what could have saved it and it really seems like if you DIDN'T realize it was all in your head, then it would have really good.  But I just really didn't like it all.  I didn't like how Dorian was introduced, the bad guy (Calpernia) is not interesting.  i honestly thought it was because it was added very late to give the player some kind of choice, but it seems like it was just completely reworked.  I wonder what it would have been like given the earlier vision (sans the creepy rapeish scene referenced in the article).

But then again, I am sure some folks liked it, and was curious if they liked it better than the mage quest and if so, why... (really, to help me overcome my prejudice against the scene...I need some perspective!!!)

It would've been a great mind-f*ck for the player to see how quickly we'd pick up on the fact that something wasn't right, and since the Inquisitor dreams so vividly we wouldn't be able to tell we were in the fade initally because we wouldn't have all that weird cloudy-dreamy shite like usual. I get why they'd want to cut out the Leliana stuff, but it wouldn't have taken too much of a rework it to instead have the Inquisitor seemingly return to the Skyhold like normal, visit all the companions and advisors to see what they have to say about the situation and then have them behaving in a manner where something isn't quite right but you can't put your finger on what exactly, then perhaps have the LI be the one that suddenly makes it obvious that it's the Fade by behaving completely out of character in whatever manner the writers would come up with for each, and if you didn't romance anyone then it would be Leliana or one of the non-romanceable characters doing something that makes it obvious.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the Fade sequence we got but it did seem like it had less interaction with the npcs in the area or buildup when compared with the pro-mage side. If they'd had kept the original fade sequence (with some tweaks) pro-templar would likely end up being my canon.

Lol living in Ohio it is wise to know German. I typically just go ficken du to anyone who is really annoying me. I believe one could easily translate what those two words mean in English.

I basically live in Amish Country and I don't know German  .  My mom learned it though because of our German heritage.

I still haven't done the Templar side of things. I am going to have run it with my 2H Quizzie in the third run.

XD Same with the Amish Country. A woman who lives up the road from me has an amish maid which I drive home time to time.

I won't take on the job of convincing you to like a quest because, eh, but I do think Champions is a better written and structured quest than Whispers in every way, has more interesting characters, a better villain, more emotional impact, Cole's introduction is better than Dorian's, etc, pretty much the opposite of every point you made there; so, really, it's all a matter of different opinions and perspectives. It's ok to not like a quest/character/any writing aspect of the game (as long as one is not dissing on people who do like it) - no one's arguments for it can force you to like Champions if you don't, just as I don't like Whispers and no one's arguments on its behalf will make me enjoy it. There isn't one objectively better or worse quest between the two, just different players with different tastes.

I like both quests. I prefer having Barris over Fiona just because I'd like to throw dirt in Fiona's face (or maybe throw her off a bridge).

Can't argue with that one!  Absolutely despise Fiona! :D   And who wouldn't want another hunky templar walking around!

I liked arguing with Cullen after allying with the mages in In Hushed Whispers and conscripting the templars in Champions of the Just.

"You should have consulted the Inquisition before disbanding and conscripting the Templar Order." >=(

"Well, it was YOUR idea to begin with to get the templars."

He doesn't stay angry or anything, but pushing his buttons can be fun :P

I've heard people say they like the Templar quest better, and I've only ever done the Mage side of things. I have a hard time going to Redcliffe and talking to the mages there and realizing how many of them are really clueless and have been sold up the creek by Fiona who is as big a clueless twit as you would want to meet and then turning my back on them to side with the Templars and knowing you are slaughtering them.

I might feel differently if I had the chance to talk to the Templars somewhere in a similar fashion and realize that many of them are just as sold out.

I'd say the one thing I do really like about the pro-mage quest is that you get to see what becomes of Thedas if you don't stop Corypheus, which adds that extra bit of urgency because you've seen it first hand, which is something you don't get otherwise.

I kinda wish there had been some way for us to experience both what was to come AND do the Fade quest.

You can do In Hushed Whispers and Champions of the Just right? For some reason I just don't remember doing Champions of the Just.

Point taken. I know some folks thought that, was just curious what they liked versus disliked between the two. Perspective from other people so I can try to play it again with a different appreciation for it.  For science, not to try to convince anyone (I am terrible at that anyways!!) :P

Maybe you can head-cannon it like you want to help free the mages from being sold out but need the templars help to fight against the Venatori, so after being to Redcliffe you go and recruit the templars to do just that but it all goes horribly wrong by the time you have closed the breach?

I feel like adding that would have added depth...kinda felt like the mages get more introduction overall, which seemed a little biased...

Burning looks like deeze:

-snip-

Not gonna lie, when I first saw the word 'burning' and then the pictures, I thought you meant getting high because when spun the right way, boy looks pretty stoned

She didn't think she cared what anybody thought about her, but seeing what Cullen had to say about her really punched her in the gut. Of course it wasn't real, but to her it felt real.

I've yet to play the templar route and I've seen a video of it only once - what sort of things does he say to her again? Are you talking about the part where he stabs that figure (which I'm guessing is supposed to be the IQ?)

No...gotta choose between them.  I personally would have sided with the templars in the "real world"...ie, if I were there, etc.  Maybe that is why I felt a bit let down by the story when I took that path.
