Spoiler

What really kicks me in the gut in this scenario is the undertone it takes: he went from turning a blind on Meredith's spiral into madness for needing too much to trust her, to turning a blind eye on the Inquisitor's increasingly tyrannical whims... again, for needing too much to trust her. He's not just blaming himself - he's watching history repeat itself, because he wasn't strong enough to question or stop someone he cared for before it was too late.

Then of course your mind can go to all sorts of dark places and wonder if the EnvyIQ would take advantage of him "in that way."

One of the DAI devs said to me that if they hit all their goals with DAI and won GOTY etc then EA would want them to release the next DA game a lot sooner than the time it took them to do DAI... obviously the engine is all in place now, which likely took up a huge chunk of the game's development time, so at least DA4 will have all it's development time focused on actually creating the game, rather than mastering the engine etc.

omg are you serious? so that must mean they're a lot farther along on the next DA than I thought... how much do you think it'll be cut down by? A year? 2? I hope it doesn't ruin the quality...

Well after Envy said, "I touched so much of you" during the boss fight... I felt... icky.

I like how you could bring up what happened to Cullen after the quest, though (not the specifics, just what you had to go through with Envy in general).  If anyone could empathize in the Inquisition's inner circle, it would be him.

Really? I don't remember that part, what does he say?

Then DA4 may be out in 2017. If it is out before that then I am going to be very surprised and very worried.

Yessss. Some of that cracked me up so much. "Oh look! Anders' Manifesto......again...." "what...Isabela....who carves that into a stair well?" lolol

"Handprints on the chandelier again...Sandeeeel...."

"She said if you look at it from the side...MAKER...I will never be able to look at that the same again..."

I'm not sure, I haven't had a chance to sit down and talk to any of the ones I'm friendly with since a couple of months before the game shipped. I plan to ask how long it took them fiddling around with the engine etc.

I'll wait as long as it takes if it means the game will have decent content and not a bunch of filler shite.

Well who knows what Cullen and the IQ did when they were off camera...well we may have some suspicions about what they did...but who knows what was used.

Please share when you find out! I'm guessing the majority of development time is devoted to the technical aspect seeing as the writers tend to always be several games ahead.

I liked arguing with Cullen after allying with the mages in In Hushed Whispers and conscripting the templars in Champions of the Just.

"You should have consulted the Inquisition before disbanding and conscripting the Templar Order." >=(

"Well, it was YOUR idea to begin with to get the templars."

He doesn't stay angry or anything, but pushing his buttons can be fun :P

Yeah...my mage also choose the option:"Do you prefer I'm locked up?" when she first talked to him. Not that she was offended, she just want to see how he react. And he got really flustered and apologize said he was only trying to make conversation with her. It's adorable, although it made me feel guilty about giving him hard time, just not enough to stop...  :bandit:

Cullen is such a nice person...

I imagine it would, because it knows the powerful image the Inquisitor and her Commander project together, and it would certainly want to use that. Make the world fawn over the celebrity couple. The thought of Envy using a completely clueless Cullen, who for all purposes and effects got his happy ending with the love of his life until it turns out he didn't, it all makes this whole scenario 50000% more powerful and horrible at the same time, and it's why I love the Envy subplot so much, specially with a romanced Cullen. It creeps me out and messes with my Quizzie's head on so many levels.

AS WILL I! I just want a game to truly top DA:O in all aspects: graphics, narrative, relationship with the characters, the characters themselves. IF Bioware wants to keep garnishing positive feedback then they are going to have to evolve even more so than they did with DA:I. I know one thing...once Bioware fully tops DA:O there will be no disputing how epic they are.

I still miss the letters we received in DAII too. I hope they add that back in the future.

I'm still a bit leery about the game being done in 2 years. There was no engine to master for DAII and while it wasn't terrible, we saw what happens when a game doesn't have enough development time.

Ok, here's what Cullen will say if you bring up what happened with Envy (pick "I hope so"--the middle dialogue option--after he says that the templars are eager to prove themselves)

You know a simple thing that Bioware could had done to make all those side quests to seem more important? They could have had those who gave the quests send a letter to the IQ about how things are now and thanking he/she. Is this not a simple thing to do that would make them seem more important?

Very much so...I just really miss not getting one of my favorites scenes, where he wonders about how things could have been different. And pretty much my favorite flirt..."A life without you? Never..."

It's just a shame that Bioware has to bow to EA. One thing we all know about EA is the fact is that they want money as soon as they can get it. So who knows...will they let Bioware take more time to make an amazing game and get a lot of cash later, or will they force Bioware to hurry with everything and then have them take the downfall for what was released just for the sake of a quick buck.

The was actually a thought I had a few days ago! Do you think they would ever do that? I hear rumors flying around about the MEs being remade for current-gen.

I say still get rid of half of them. But yea you're right. It's that personal touch that makes some of the tedious work seem worth it.

I totally wanted to check into the Inquisitor's bedroom every now and then to find something new to click on, like once you'd consummated the relationship with Cullen you'd find some of his items of clothing strewn across the floor after a night of passion to which she'd make a cheeky little comment about it out loud to herself, or find one of Sera's pranks, or even walk in to find Bull and/or Dorian helping themselves to your personal wine stock, or a gift from Vivienne with some ridiculously fancy outfit that you'd totally never wear because it's ridiculous etc.

Something pointless but a nice touch would be if you could click on the bed and kinda do a "sleep until dawn" thing (like the DA:O mod) where the Inquisitor and his/her love interest could go to bed with each other (leaving it open to interpretation enough to head canon whether they do the freak-nasty before hand or just genuinely go to sleep)

Here's the Sleep Until Dawn mod for anyone wondering:
