Sorry to interrupt but I have a question for u Cullenites, if I havent kissed Cullen yet do I still get the dance scene with him at the Winter Palace or do I have to actually start the romance to get that scene?

I'm running two PCs at the same time, one romancing Cullen, and the other Solas. I more or less play one on one day, the other on the next, keeping one a few levels ahead. I've always liked to have more than one character at the same time anyway, so this works perfectly for me.

As for your questions:  I think that the first kiss is what starts the Cullen romance.  You aren't in a relationship with him (besides the flirting) until that point, so I'm *guessing* there's no dance scene.

 

And I romanced Solas first!  I decided to try Cullen after Solas and now I'm totally into it .  I like both Cullen and Solas equally now.

 

 

You do have to start the romance to get the dance scene. So kiss him!

Can anyone give me suggestions of whether I should romance Bull or Blackwall after my Solasmance? I can't decide... and from what I was reading in here earlier about the whole BDSM thing Bull's romance seems pretty.... intense.... is there more to it than just the sexual aspect?

 

Bull's romance is very funny, very sweet, and very kinky. It is definitely BDSM. Some aspects of the romance turn people off; for example, Bull insists on being the dom and some of his words and actions can be seen as demeaning; this could make some players uncomfortable.

 

Ultimately I did not particularly enjoy it, but it was more my own issues than the writing. There are a lot of cut scenes, which is nice. The only really for sure negative is the shoddy direction of FPJ's voice acting. Bull's the only follower whose voice feels really inconsistent to me.

90% of the time when I had Anders and Fenris in the party, I wanted to be like, "Don't make me stop and pull this car over" and "Don't make me reach back there!".  Like two bickering siblings they were

Yeah Anders was really mean to Fenris, and Fenris was really mean to Merrill. Though I understood that Fenris was truly just afraid of Merrill. A wise Hawke would know not to take them out together... how rarely I played a wise Hawke

1. Bull says he knows what's best for you in bed and that you'll be getting no input as to what he does to you. If you disagree, the romance is off. In short, he's in charge.

 

2. He mentions a safe word, though he calls it a "watch word." However, this "watch word" is not brought up until AFTER you have sex with him. This disturbs some people.

 

3. His repeating kiss scene involves a (can be seen as rather demeaning) smack on the a$$.

 

Some people are okay with those things and even like them, but some might be disturbed So just an FYI.

Anders and Fenris were really DA2's odd couple, though.  They had so much in common... like hating blood magic, thinking Merrill was a ticking time bomb, despising slavery, wanting freedom, etc.

Honestly, if I could cut out the one or two scenes that I find very disturbing, I would say it's one of the best romances they did. And I'd say it was more than physical after a time.

If you're comfortable with the things CuriousArtemis pointed out, then it's worth a try. I'm not sure I could ever get past the first point personally, but lots of people haven't interpreted it the way I do and have enjoyed it.
