So I've seen a lot of comments about this regarding lack of Dalish dalish-talk in game, but I hadn't seen this from PWeekes. FWIW.

Can this ever get fixed? I know when my Lavellan asked who Mythal was and had such a blank expression on her face, save for a dorky smile...I wanted to jump through my TV and facepalm her.

 

BTW I have yet to hear what Varric says at the end of the game. It glitched on my PS3 and now on my PS4...the sadness is real....

This...sexualization of Andraste is meant to be light and humorous, but in some subconscious level, it kinda bothers me...I doubt people would notice her physical attributes so much if she were a man. A holy man, that is (since Andraste is depicted as holy, but always brought closer to the profane or mundane).

It's the sort of thing that makes me wonder if Thedas indeed has equality of gender...

This explains that then. I was wondering why my Dalish Inquisitor didn't seem to know who Mythal was, yet later on was able to comment on the various Gods and their legends just a few minutes later...

 

Personally I'd chalked it up to an possible lapse in proof-reading... kind of like why at numerous points in the game, you have characters comment on the Breach as if it's still in existence (like Morrigan at Halamshiral), even though we closed it earlier in the game, and indeed can't even get to that mission without doing it first?

 

Unless they were just referring to the scar left by the Breach, it doesn't make sense unless closing it was supposed to happen later and got changed around in the re-writing process, but the dialogue referring to it was accidentally left in? Or the writers meant for it after all, and I just got the wrong end of the stick?

This...sexualization of Andraste is meant to be light and humorous, but in some subconscious level, it kinda bothers me...I doubt people would notice her physical attributes so much if she were a man. A holy man, that is (since Andraste is depicted as holy, but always brought closer to the profane or mundane).

It's the sort of thing that makes me wonder if Thedas indeed has equality of gender...

Thedas is totally not equal when it comes to gender. DG confirmed this when some person asked him on Twitter or Tumblr. I think R2 may had even posted what he said in one of her posts before.

Lol! I was just using the ass comment as a joke since it was a part of the art...although I am sure there was some ass comment somewhere. There was definitely a knickers comment.

Yeah, I was playing through Temple of Mythal today and had to roll my eyes. The only way I can see it my Dalish can go through this is without talking to Morrigan and clicking on some of the mosaics. It is such a pity cause I love this particular level and it should have extra meaning when you are playing Dalish. I really hope it's due to a bug and it will be patched.

 

Also, I went on a field trip with Solas and had to cuddle my cat to endure

Yeah, I didn't meant to sound too overly critical of the writers, it just really confused me everytime people mentioned it in the game?

 

I suppose that people in Thedas could have taken to using "The Breach" as a short hand for the scar left behind, similar to how people used (and still do sometimes) "Ground Zero" as the informal term for the site of the former World Trade Centres, even after they've rebuilt most of the buildings there?

I've seen this. AND -- I know exactly which Dalish-specific icon he's talking about: it looks like the naked elf girl tarot card. And it popped up maybe four or five times throughout the entire game.

It just wasn't enough for me, especially whenever religion or politics came up in conversation.

The Mosiac dialogues triggered for me fine in my game, just the initial questions about Mythal?

 

(And I'll admit, that Solas field trip nearly broke me the second time I ran through it with my Dalish Elf... dammit, I think I'm going to have to romance Josie in my next playthrough, just so I can top up the amount of feels I'll need ready to properly romance Cullen)

I believe DG confirmed that Thedas is still sexist in some aspects, so I don't think they are really trying to make it into the "perfect" world.

They triggered alright but still the initial prompt was quite jarring to me. I assumed that my pc wouldn't need to ask what different mosaics depicted in the first place. The follow up was ok I guess. *grumpy stubborn kid face*

It is not a choice. It is a set line that the IQ says when Morrigan is talking.

I'm pretty sure it just happens- Morrigan says something about the Temple of Mythal and the Inquisitor automatically prompts an explanation with "Which is.....?"

 

Beaten by Zarro, but nice to know I'm not misremembering it.
