Maker grant me the serenity to accept my love for Cullen that I cannot change.

The courage to admit that I think he is hot.

And the wisdom to know that I would still do him even if he was a Red Templar.

??

So true!

So I just finished the game first time yesterday.... and then I found out apparently you get a quest with Cullen if you side with MAGES :crying: ARRRRGHHH

I chose templars specifically because I thought it would get more Cullen content since I planned to romance him... I thought it was strange his "quest" was only 2 conversations about taking lyrium.

To top it all off you can also apparently save Ser Barris who hangs out at Skyhold later... who died in my game and I thought he was always supposed to die so I didn't reload.

I just can't believe this happened :(

I did the same thing on my first playthrough (except Ser Barris lived, but I never finished his war table content). Just roll another character! I have five playthroughs so far...I'm a sad sad person...

Well, time for second PT siding with mages? You actually get the best convo in game with him if you choose mage. You can tell him something that gives him a very hot look. Melissa got the perfect screenshot

And he'll come with you once to Battle... ;)

I did the exact same things on my first playthrough. I'm debating what I am going to do for my third one because I did mages and Solas for this one and I like the Templar mission better so I'd rather do that for the rest of my playthroughs... but I wanna do Cullen's questline on a toon who is romancing him... It's really not fair :(

But but but... I had everything planned.... and in my second playthrough I wanted to play as an elf (If I finally managed to make a decent looking one) and try out Solas romance... but now I don't know *sigh*  :)

Ah who am I kidding... I'll probably romance Cullen in all my playthroughs :P

Barris doesn't hang out at Skyhold like Fiona does, but he does have wartable stuff and another cutscene

I think I will always choose mages over Templars in my next playthroughs... anything for more Gideon Emery.... I'm shallow, I'm ok with it.

Wow!! That's super great Melissa! I didn't get to have the two in good position for screenies!

The real Sword & Shield couple. Varric should take inspiration from them.

Yes, Fiona standing around inciting my rage and wanting to throw her over the railing...did I say that out loud?

Yeeeaaaah, you're not the only one. I still find it supremely vexing that you don't just get the same quest on both sides. Supremely. Vexing.   Esp since the Advisors' Cullen section of the game guide didn't say anything about that.

The sword n' board Champion spec is so bamf. It was hilarious having a convo with Bull - he likes like "What made you decide to turtle up?" And you can respond something to the like of "I wanted to be able to take the hardest hit and get up and laugh in their face afterwards."

And when fighting a dragon...dragon, what dragon?  B)

Yeah, there are parts that are brilliant. I like how it's not totally spoilerific in many parts, and I've used the maps to find collectibles, but it totally blindsides you on the important stuff. Like, you miss out on a whole freaking Cullen quest if you don't choose mages. Grrr. Which is not intuitive at all. (plus I hadn't figured out that there was a whole standalone section buried in the walkthrough on Inner Circle quests yet)

Ah well. I've started the Dawn quest now, barely. Albeit unromanced. *sigh* Guess I won't get the full effect until I eventually role a Cullenmancing mage.

Can somebody tell me as an attempt to make Megan Fox in Transformer 1, is this a minor, moderate or complete faliure...

Opened game...rush her to Hinterland(would've been faster if I was abled to fast forward when Cullen's face on the screen...but I wasn't)

Um...so...Is this good? Think she looks very...plain.

Spoiler

From several pages back, I think she looks awesome and I hope you post sliders for her. :) I need a new look for a Trevelyn after my elf runthrough. All my human females end up looking the same. :(

Weird, I bought the electronic version (8€), and Cullen's extra quest (Before the Dawn) is clearly listed as only available if you side with mages... Never seen the paper version however.

I highly recommend do the Before the Dawn at least once with romanced Cullen, it really gives a real good convo, (my favourite lines of Cullen Romance). Or YT if not

The walkthrough for that quest says it, but the Cullen summary section I don't believe does. All I knew is that there were three quests. And I shouldn't tell him to keep taking lyrium.

Aww too bad. It's clearly marked somehow mentionned on Cullen's list of quest on e-guide however, but only said like this:

Inner Circle Quests:

  • Perseverance (Personal Plot)
  • Happier Times (Gift Plot)
  • Before the Dawn (Samson nemesis quest) ---> true, they don't say whether this is due to Mage or Templar. I get your point.

About lyrium, I honestly think Greg nails it a little bit better on the prayer scene when he takes lyrium (Champion of the Just prayer) compared to when he doesn't take Lyrium. The whole things are much more emotional. Both are good, but there's much more emotion in his voice when he prays (& stay on Lyrium).

EDIT: there's also more emotional context to that prayer & hug scene when he's staying on Lyrium. He had faltered on his personal engagement (out of Lyrium) and facing the possibility of losing his lover. That's a huge things to swallow.

Yea... because if he stays on Lyrium at that point he's pretty defeated personally whereas the otherside he's beat his personal demons but is worried about the Inquisitor. More emotion maybe, but not better imo.

I'm not saying "better" for Cullen, I'm saying Greg nails the lines a bit better if he stays on Lyrium.

These are not same things :(

Yeah I am finding it really difficult as well.  I've done over 20,000 words of a (probably rather terrible, frankly) DA:I fic and even when I have the sexy parts sooooort of at a place where I'm ok with them, it took me almost a whole day to write because, urgh; and I still have it all in a different colored font because I'm so tempted to just delete the section and make it PG instead.  (Been sort of...dipping my toes into fic/fanfic-y stuff for a few years but not ever posted anything bar one, I think.  Most of it is just for me.)  I think I had too much of a...strict, let's say, upbringing to try to write about sex seriously with any ease.  I don't mind reading it, and I definitely joke about it like a big ol' perv, but when it comes to actually trying to put it into words, it feels..absurd.  I can't bring myself to just be blunt and straightforward about it, and then it ends up stilted and weird because you're trying to describe very intimate actions with, well, euphemisms, basically, and it's about as sexy as a trip to the doctor's office.

But then I also am struggling to write fictionally in general because dialogue is hard (just ask George Lucas), and I tend to 'see' my story ideas as little mini movies in my head and then I feel like I need to write down every last detail of what everyone is thinking and doing and wearing and their facial expressions, because otherwise how would any imaginary readers be able to see what I'm 'seeing', and I violate the cardinal rule of 'show, don't tell' about a million times over and it goes to hell in a handbasket.  I really wish I could draw instead but, alas, my two-dimensional block figurey cartoon people do no better in conveying what I can see in my mind.

So yeah, kudos to anyone who can write smut even remotely well.

Someone invent that brain reading machine from the third cheesy Batman movie already!  I have so many things to show people!  Besides just pictures of pandas and sarcastic and cynical observational life essays, I mean!

Sorry, just got back!!

What you wrote is EXACTLY how I feel about all of it!  I can see everything perfectly in my head.  These conversations and how they would go down, for example.  But when I write them, I do the EXACT same thing...try to write every eyebrow tilt, every smirk, every head shift, every shoulder slump, until it is ridiculous.  And I believe my problem is that the words I am having them say SHOULD be able to stand on their own without over detailing the scene, but I don't think I am a good enough writer yet to just let the scene be.

So...we should both keep working!

AND...at some point, share with others! :)

I will eventually have a playthrough where I will get this. I plan on starting another sword n' board warrior that goes with the templar spec and they will both vow to get off lyrium together afterwards.

I'd like to say I would do this with my 2h warrior, but she's going to go reaver so sees no reason to make Cullen take lyrium again (albeit temporarily).

HOLY CRAP

Hello, my dear Dragon Age fans.

A couple of days ago I found this video on Youtube, where a backwards message is played after the Inquisitor drinks from the Well of Sorrows and hears the strange voices. Many have been able to translate this dialogue, including myself.

Here it is.: She speaks the truth......She is fallen/further north....go to him/her.....Calling.....

Now, the last words really got me thinking. As we all know, our Warden (if alive) is searching for a way to cure the Calling and has gone west. We also know, that Morrigan or the Inquisitor hear the voices saying that Flemeth is actually Mythal and that she speaks the truth. The "She is fallen" and "go to him" could be a reference to the female or male Warden. But of course, this is just speculation.

I want to know what you guys think?

Here is the link to the video:: https://www.youtube....h?v=aZ6kedMF0Uw

A little hope that our Warden may one day show up again!

HOLY CRAP

OOOH!!! Now I'll surely have at least one character drinking from that Well!

A question (I can't hear well), the video states clearly Him/Her according to the Warden's gender or not?
