Not sure on the first part, since the voices are talking to the IQ so saying "she" wouldn't pertain to the IQ if they are talking to her already.

 

The rest of it was very garbled and I think 10 different people would hear 10 different things. 

 

It will be interesting to see if we stay with our IQ in the next game - I still stand by that one despite what we've been told in the past. People have heard rumors north for the next game - the voices say go north - maybe the IQ goes on a mission...north.

Yeeeaaaah, you're not the only one. I still find it supremely vexing that you don't just get the same quest on both sides. Supremely. Vexing.   Esp since the Advisors' Cullen section of the game guide didn't say anything about that.

Aww too bad. It's clearly marked somehow mentionned on Cullen's list of quest on e-guide however, but only said like this:

 

Inner Circle Quests:  

• Perseverance (Personal Plot)
• Happier Times (Gift Plot)
• Before the Dawn (Samson nemesis quest) ---> true, they don't say whether this is due to Mage or Templar. I get your point.

Yeah, I'd call this anything but clearly marked. I wouldn't even say somehow mentioned, since they don't say anything about gating of this quest. As a new player on their first playthrough, the words "samson nemesis plot" don't tell you "you won't get this quest at all if you don't make the right choices." In fact it tells you absolutely nothing at all, except that Samson from DA2 may appear. So all it promises are 3 quests, of which I only got 2.

Yeah, I have yet to see a convincing interpretation of what's being said. Esp since both the Warden and the IQ can be male or female. I dunno.

What you wrote is EXACTLY how I feel about all of it!  I can see everything perfectly in my head.  These conversations and how they would go down, for example.  But when I write them, I do the EXACT same thing...try to write every eyebrow tilt, every smirk, every head shift, every shoulder slump, until it is ridiculous.  And I believe my problem is that the words I am having them say SHOULD be able to stand on their own without over detailing the scene, but I don't think I am a good enough writer yet to just let the scene be. 

 

So...we should both keep working!

 

AND...at some point, share with others!

 

Ha, well, we can make a pact to share our obsessively over-detailed stories with each other, and then the world! /highfive  (Cause like, how will everyone know that Cullen tastes like Josephine's sugar cookies if I don't say it, right??  That's crucial information right there!  ...Me no right gud.)

I hear you.  I reckon that one is a troll, but even so, it gets tiresome.  Saying that, I did enjoy seeing it get pretty completely derailed (and by a lot of familiar Cullenite faces!)  

 

I tried to have a conversation about the same exact topic last year in the Guild Wars 2 forums (same deal, the new featured NPC team has more female characters and a subset of players just could not deal with it at all, happily ignoring all the male characters and basically saying they 'didn't count' as representation because they didn't personally like them.)  It gets old fast.  Shows just how much we (in the sense of 'humans') absorb the stuff around us, to the point where our perceptions of how many of 'us' there are vs. 'them' is pretty skewed.

Me too. There's no point with the privileged mindset in which anything less than a 2/3 male majority is "skewed" against them. Though I think it's ironic that the same people who tend to complain about that also tend to complain about their choices of female LIs as a male player when having 6 male companions to 3 female companions is obviously going to limit their options, but hey, math and logic, apparently they aren't familiar with either.
