*snip*

I just realized the dialogues is not the same romanced & non romanced. In romanced he seems to not wanting to talk about it at all & the quizzy reply & there are several exchanges in the convo. In the non-romanced the quizzy ask, he reply in one phrase

The thing is that when I talk to him post adamant he directly talk about the possession. No option to start romance before the "If I get Possessed" convo.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same convo?

I've been able to trigger his romanced "possession" dialog while still delaying the lake date scene. All you have to do to get the romanced "possession" dialog is to have activated the romance by having the first-kiss scene pre-adamant. But if you want to space out his cutscenes, you don't have to agree to go with him to Ferelden right away when he brings it up. You can safely say "maybe later" and then pick it up again whenever you want. Since you're still in a romance, delaying it won't affect anything. You have have your "kiss any time you want" scene and everything.

Well if someone do sh*t, they should be ready to receive sh*t. It's the same with hardened characters - everything has it's price.

Some did, because they're doing either the "ass-quisitor", some other because they're afraid that Cullen might die. Some people don't know about Cullen's Plot Armour before finishing the game.

Plot Amour?

I normally always tell him to tough it out and not take lyrium. But I'm going to have him take it "for now" with one playthrough...for science. But my quizzie will be right there with him since she will be a templar as well. They'll suffer together and overcome the addiction together.

We are, it's just that I don't want to start the romance before Perseverance & I'm doing Adamant before the Halamshiral ball to ensure dancing scene. So when I talk to Cullen post-Adamant to activate the Romance, the first thing I get is the "If I get Possessed" convo. After that I can activate the romance.

Well, the dev had clearly said long ago before release that all advisors are not replaceable & will be there until the end of the game. But that's under spoiler tag of course. So Cullen has plot armor, whatever we do he won't die in-game DA:I. I just know many people avoiding spoiler forced him back to Lyrium because they were scared of him dying.

Ah gotcha.

If you don't want to do Halamshiral first and miss the dance, then I think you have no choice but to miss the romanced version of the possession talk. With my rogue I chose to do Halamshiral first and miss the dance scene. Of course, in her case there is no possession talk.

My mage never use lyrium in DAI. But my elf mage Warden in DAO made them herself and drink it like water. In the final battle she literally use the biggest bottle and chuck them down every three minutes...which come to think of it...is hilarious. How is she still alive...

Yeeah, this is why there's no lyrium addiction functionality implemented in game. Every DAO mage would be out of their mind.

Some did, because they're doing either the "ass-quisitor", some other because they're afraid that Cullen might die. Some people don't know about Cullen's Plot Armour before finishing the game.

And some do because they just want to try it out. Or because they don't want him to suffer. Lots of reasons.

Does mages really "drink" the Lyrium Potion like templars do, or is it just Game Cinematic?

Because we know from DA:O harrowing that mages can use Lyrium with touches. I imagine maybe mages don't always get dependence because Lyrium react with mana within them instead of their own body? There's still deformed Magister however, so maybe if you over use it there is not enough mana in your body & it's your body who react with the Lyrium?

I think you get the deformed look when you've combine the stuff with your own blood which some Magisters have done in the past. Hits Dorains father over the head for his use of blood magic.

The question is, does he do it himself, or does he make someone else do it for Dorian? He must have mages as slaves...

I can't possibly make Cullen take Lyrium.....even for science. I can't bring myself to do anything mean to him...he's just that adorable!

It is also now impossible for me to romance anyone other than him. Call me a Cullen addict. :D *sigh*

(I'll still flirt with Dorian though...since he's safe.)

I'm failing miserably on romancing Solas... always can't resist Cullen's

Aaaah what a beautiful failure

EDIT: Oh my, we're already on page 4500???

We move fast here in the Cullen thread, although my Lallvan is in a romance with Solas. I'm not to kean on the romance with Iron Bull. I don't mind BDSM, but I am wary of the way it's presented to us in the game. I felt verily uncomfortable with the scenes, I saw on YouTube. I might try Blackwall's romance with my Qunari run, instead of bull's since she is not into the rough sex thing.

I'm trying to avoid a Cullen romance by playing a male IQ. Unfortunately, I can't seem to play one for more than an hour or two before I decide that his eyebrows are no good, or his nose is just a smidge too narrow, so of course I must DESTROY HIM.

On the bright side, it's fun to approach familiar characters from a different perspective. And I'm learning new things -- didn't know, for instance, that you can meet Cullen before you get to Haven. He told my IQ something along the lines of, "I hope you can help; we lost a lot of men getting you here." I don't remember the exact response I chose; the flippant one, anyway. And he just gave me this look, like, "I am so disappointed in you right now." Brilliant!

Sorry, Cullen. I hope you two will eventually be buddies, but for the moment my IQ is going to troll you so hard.

LOL he looks the same no matter what you say. I think he's a bit "standoffish" in the beginning since to him you're just a prisoner and a suspect.

I did like the look he gives though when he first sees you close the rift and he's obviously summing you up while Cass is talking to him:

I agree for the most part, but how would that work with an IQ that becomes a templar? In the case of the IQ I just created last night, she spent her life preparing to join The Order (being the youngest Trevelyan). She is willing to make the sacrifices necessary to further the goals of the Inquisition (you can even have this discussion with Cullen in-game). And, as she will conscript the mages, she feels that templars are needed (they are). So, she ends up getting addicted to lyrium herself, and chooses that knowing up front what will happen. However, she firmly believes there has to be a safer way. I think it's a bit different to ask Cullen to wait a little longer to break the leash in this case. And when the time comes, they will have each other for support. It wouldn't be the case of not being his rock, or his sponge.

ANYWAYS, I haven't really even started this playthrough yet, but I want to give it a shot to see how things feel. Every other time I play the game, I certainly do tell him that he is strong enough to stay clean.

I don't think people should be lectured for making Cullen take Lyrium again, regardless of their reasons and motivations. While I too prefer to keep him off the stuff, if others feel it's better to make him start taking it again then that's their prerogative.

(IF I choose that route) After hearing Cullen's experience, I would probably reconsider becoming a Templar despite my desire to do so. While The Templar path maybe a good idea on the outside, getting a view on the inside would change my perspective.

However I will probably never end up playing anything but a Mage. I, uh, became some what addicted to romancing Cullen as such. Plus I prefer fighting in the back-round opposed to upfront.

But I cannot chastise how other people choose to play. I may given an opinion but in the end I know that is how others choose to play and I respect that.

My statement above was more along the lines of how I see it from playing a Mage.
