Abominations are whenever a mage is possessed, full stop. It doesn't matter if they are like Wynne or Anders. On top of that, in Asunder, Wynne flat out says "I am an abomination."

Then all "Spirit Healers" are abomination?

I'm not sure that I understand well the term possession. Does this means that the person still retain their action & sanity (like Wynne) considered Abomination? Ouch...

Now Evangeline's also an abomination.

No, Spirit Healers work in tandem with spirits of faith, compassion, and love. They are never possessed while doing their work. However, it's just mere coincidence that Wynne and Anders were spirit healers when they were possessed and became abominations.

Abominations result when mages are possessed by a spiritual entity, full stop, regardless of the circumstances or sanity level.

When a non-mage is possessed, they are simply referred to as "possessed".

Hmmmm, well, in theory, the mage Inquisitor would get one hell of a power boost. But the other two classes might just become stronger in general.

I guess it all depends on what that spirit actually done to the Inquisitor. She doesn't seem to go into him/her, so perhaps she transferred some sort of essence into her, or gifted her something that could help in future battles/prevent her from potentially getting herself killed against a future encounter?

It's not as clear cut as Rex likes to belive, since Anders only changed his friend due to his anger and not understanding that he should allow Justice to follow through with his purpose. It twist them into a demon ect.

Ah possibly...it maybe depends what kind of shortbread or shortcake we're talking about, the cakey kind or the 'biscuit'-y kind as we say in the UK.  I thought of them as Scottish-style shortbread biscuits which I tend to think of as cookies because I'm a US transplant. (This also explains why my spelling waffles between US English and UK English on a rather random basis.  I'm all mixed up!)

Now I want shortbread.

Mmmmm shortbread....

Maybe. It could either be the Justinia or...perhaps the Nightmare, so the potential effects could vary, and even then that's if we're not actually overthinking this.

Part of me wants it to be the nightmare, just out of morbid curiosity, LOL! Unless what the spirit put into the Inquisitor was what remained of his/her lost memories?

I'm kind of thinking Justinia myself, maybe some part of her that stayed in the fade since she physically died (we think) there? And she had unfinished business?

LOL it'd be funny if it was Envy and it finally got it's wish...remember, even if you don't side with the templars, Envy is still there wanting to take over the IQ. Or maybe it really was Andraste...or maybe the spirit didn't do anything other than push off of the IQ really hard to get some forward propulsion!

No really, I think there's no way we'll know til BW decides to do something with it...IF they decide to do something with it.

Yeah, it might have been implemented should the plot ever call for it... another way to avoid handwaving or whatever?

I started to think that they put so many details that can be interpreted later... Since fans tend to over analyze EVERY single thing

Personally I hope it plays a part in future expansion/DLC involving whatever it is Solas is planning to do lol.

I don't get what we're supposed to be taking from that video, lol. The Inquisitor is possessed because... the spirit/memory/reflection/soul/whatever that was touched their shoulder on her way up? Because they did a split-step animation and Hawke didn't? That's... a lot of reaching there.

It's just theory/speculation based on the same reaction Larius/Janeka had when Corypheus possessed them in DA2, it's the same animation shown in DAI when the Divine spirit touches the Inquisitor, thus it's not too far of stretch to theorise that perhaps something just happened to the Inquisitor in that scene.

It could be something, it could be nothing but that's the point of speculation, you speculate.

No, I get it, I was actually confused as to what exactly we are supposed to be looking at there. It's the little animation, then? I think it's reaching, but who cares. I just wanted to know which part of the video people were talking about.

Yeah, it's the same one Larius/Janeka does when possessed by Corypheus. When I first saw the scene I thought it was just the Inquisitor being blinded by the glowing spirit since she was pretty shiny, but Hawke and Alistair/Loghain/Stroud make no reaction to it, which they would have if it was just a case of her being blindingly bright lol.

It could be that that final message was a telepathic message directly to the Inquisitor causing him/her to flinch. It does have an unusual echo to it.

Maybe? I wonder what it was if it is a final message? I don't wanna get my hopes up too much about it, just like I don't wanna get my hopes up for an expansion involving hunting down Solas etc.

Nope, she just walked in.

That's something I don't get about that whole scene. In the beginning (after making our character) as we escape the fade the spirit reaches out to us, but when we get our memories back it turns out that it was the Divine and the Inquisitor who both climbed up to escaped together but the Divine gets dragged away so we ended up escaping alone (thus people seeing the figure of a woman behind us as we escaped). The Divine spirit was never there reaching out to him/her at all... soooooo, what was that all about? The Inquisitor clearly doesn't remember any of it since it's the player watching it occur, so it wasn't like he/she has replaced the missing memories with his/her own imagination of what happened, lol.
