I thought that was odd as well. Also room scene plays out differently when you gain back your memories.

Yeah, "What's going on here?" turns into "WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!!!!!" I always found that really odd, but I figured the line switch was done so that we wouldn't be able to guess just how bad the event occurring was until we got our memories back.

Did it ever get explained why the inquisitor just happend to walk into the room where Cory and the Divine was?

Like was there no one else around? Was the Inquisitor a day early? o.O

I always assumed that the capturing of the divine made noise which drew the inquisitors attention. I mean the divine must have had bodyguards that had to be slain first before she could be held captive which could make a ruckus.

Best explanation I have.

Nope, she just walked in.

That's something I don't get about that whole scene. In the beginning (after making our character) as we escape the fade the spirit reaches out to us, but when we get our memories back it turns out that it was the Divine and the Inquisitor who both climbed up to escaped together but the Divine gets dragged away so we ended up escaping alone (thus people seeing the figure of a woman behind us as we escaped). The Divine spirit was never there reaching out to him/her at all... soooooo, what was that all about? The Inquisitor clearly doesn't remember any of it since it's the player watching it occur, so it wasn't like he/she has replaced the missing memories with his/her own imagination of what happened, lol.

I took it that the Divine spirit was reaching out sooner than the exit, maybe - not long after we sort of regain consciousness and see the spiders, and then when you catch up to her, you keep climbing a bit further and she falls/stays behind.  But yeah, it would have been nice to see what the heck was happening, really.  I can't see that Corypheus got all the way to the middle of the Conclave without anyone noticing.  Even if he took over the body of someone else there, you'd think people would have clocked it.

Whoever won the security contract for the Conclave has some 'splainin to do.

Oh!  That reminds me...I could never make out for 100% sure what the Divine was saying after 'Run child,' - my best guess was 'run while you can' but it never sounded quite right.

Don't forget that in the intro after the "What's going on here?" we hear Cory order his henchmen to deal with the intruder ("Slay the qunari"  for example). Yet when we regain our memory that never happens.

Seems like too big a plot hole to be a mistake... I mean, I thought Solas turning up so early in the game was odd until that post-credits ending and then it all made sense. If that spirit really did just do something to the Inquisitor then maybe the weirdness of the opening in comparison to what actually took place might get explained in DLC/expansions?

LOL, I don't think we'll ever know! Probably just the Inquisitor being bored and nosy that got him/her into sh*t in the first place... that's my head canon anyway, it's in character for my me!Inquisitor anyway!

For some reason I always automatically have this image, in a giant lecture hall, everyone is sitting there where this dude gives super long introduction about the Devine, didn't even realised she's gone. And quizzie just like "I don't have time for this boring s**t, I'm just gonna go for a bathroom break."

I think I had too many lectures like that in my life...that's why...

It's funny, before they announced that we'd start the game in the Fade I always imagined we'd actually see the conclave blow up whilst the Divine was up on stage giving a speech, LOL!

It's hilarious that no one noticed the Divine had bloody disappeared, isn't she supposed to have small group body guards and people with her at all times?

One of the things I like most in the Cullen romance and that has just occured to me: He doesn't suddenly go crazy and reveals himself to be someone totally different afterwards.

After playing DA2, all my companions, with the exception of Varric, the Hawke brothers and Aveline were slightly mad. No disrespect, but these people clearly had some serious mental issues and were far from normal. They were either aloof, neurotic, paranoid or delusional. I love DA2, but still prefer the more normal characters of Origins, like Leliana, Loghain and Alistair.

I've been wondering this as well.   I mean, I always imagine my IQ wasn't anyone special. So why is she suddenly in a position to walk in behind the red velvet rope to where the Divine herself would be?

Yeah, this is what I figured. That the Divine reached down to help you up the slope, you both booked it for the exit... and boom, she didn't make it, after saving your ass.

You know maybe she just heard screaming and the IQ came running so she could help...that would be a rather easy way to explain what she did. Guys, I love theories and speculations as you all know...but I think we may going into this a little too much.... :P

Wasn't it something like "run, run while you can, warn them"?

As for the differences, that can be easily explained by the first variation being a Fade spirit memory/recflection. As Solas says, they're not always accurate and give an interpretation of events at best.

That was my guess as well. Maybe that's a chill spirit(do they exist?). That's why in that vision everyone sounds so chill...

Maybe? I wonder what it was if it is a final message? I don't wanna get my hopes up too much about it, just like I don't wanna get my hopes up for an expansion involving hunting down Solas etc.

What I meant was the last few words she speaks, the message to Leliana. Maybe the quizzy gets the full brunt of the psychic power or something.
