It is an interesting one. I just really hope that Bioware does not fall down the rabbit hole of making Solas into such a divine figure...until the point it is just nonsense. I can easily accept him being Fen'Harel, but anything else...it is just going to be a bit too much for me, lol!

 

Did you romance Solas yet? Perhaps you could infer even more theories from interactions with him?

Lol, when I first saw the thread title I thought it was going to show different facial expressions of Solas. You know how that mythical beast that had four faces of anger, sadness, lunacy, and indifference? That is what I thought I was stumbling into!

Not yet, I'm putting my foot down and not letting myself play another round until I get this bloody DAI review out. I'll need to do a Solasmance playthrough anyway so that I can do my Solas speculation video.

I love Solas' character and find his story to be one that is going to leave us breathless. Who doesn't love a morally gray character? I'm not one for the whole idea of Solas being a lot of important beings or things like that. I just don't like OP or unfathomably special characters...just my little pet peeve!

Well then I wish you all the luck! That romance is one that truly makes DA:I emotional for a lot of people, almost as much as DA:O's Morrigan or Alistair romances.

Just dropping by to say hi!  (wow, I can tell work has started back again, since I always have to read thru 20 pages to catch up!!!).

 

Loving the quizzie pics...MelissaGT, your quizzies are GORGEOUS!!!  I tried to make good brown eyes for my male warrior Marcus, but yours a are amazing!  (am I seeing a grey undertone there?...,maybe that' the key!).

 

Also, cats versus dogs...gotta share my cat story.  Had a boy cat, out in the country so he played outside whenever he wanted.  Every day, when i got home from work, he would come a -running, stand on his hind legs, and get one strong pet from me before entering the house. It was an everyday greeting and was such a dog-like thing to do.  He would also go cross-eyed when he farted...don't know what that means, but my brother has a bull-dog that also goes cross-eyed when he farts...maybe it's a hillbilly thing.  Once, my cat was letting out these loud farts (I don't know what he had been eating), and he would chase his own tail after each rip then look at me and meow accusingly...like I was doing something to him to illicit those loud rips.  God, I miss that weird, farting, dog-like cat...

 

But he was very tender-hearted.  When i got my female cat spayed and brought her home, she laid on the couch on her back to show us her sore, shaved belly.  And my sweet little boy kitty ran up and laid beside her, placed his paw around her neck, and licked her ears while she mewed softly.  He was so sweet!!!

 

Just wanted to share cause it makes me smile to think of him.  I love dogs too and had many, but that cat was my favorite animal-friend EVER!!

 

So...Cullen is a cat-person in my playthroughs...

Cullen will always be my Inquisitor's canon romance, I have a personal attachment to him after all the campaigning I've done... if it wasn't for my involvement in this thread and the push we made to get people to pay attention I would never have started YouTube, let alone experienced all the things that came from it, I'm pretty sure my depression would be a lot worse too if I hadn't used this mission as a way to focus on something positive. As such, I doubt Solas' romance will have the same impact on me that it has for other people, BUT I do want to experience it because from the few small scenes the romance has it's certainly something that sounds like it could have far reaching ramifications.

I suggest bringing Cass and Cole if you want a strong party when you bring Solas along with you. Some of the banter with Cole and Solas will make your head hurt.

If the data mined description of that final post-game cutscene is anything to go by then Solas will do whatever it takes to accomplish his goals, including killing anyone standing in his way. IF for some reason whatever his planning is a bad idea and we have to stop him then this could end badly for one/both of them. I suspect Patrick won't make it easy for us, especially those who romanced the guy.

 

Personally I'm hoping for options akin to Jade Empire's ending in terms of how it ends.

We don't know if he killed Mythal/Flemeth, but you are right that Solas is going to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. Such as breaking up with the one he loves. I have a feeling that Solas' story will end with either him dying or with him and the IQ running off.

If they keep what was found in the data mining and don't change it then I wouldn't be surprised if we'd be able to sacrifice the Inquisitor for the greater good if we agree with what Solas is trying to do. I don't think it'll end all hearts and flowers for that pairing though, no matter how much people may want it.

I'm putting my theory in spoilers...since you know it spoils a lot.

Theory One:

Perhaps Mythal was killed by a Forgotten One and in order to prevent mass war between both sets of Gods*which would destroy Thedas, the Veil, The Fade, etc*, Solas locked them all away so everyone and everything could be protected. This would change the whole story around of Fen'Harel and paint him as the anti-hero. The Dalish are wrong about a great many things, and I think this is just one more discrepancy they have construed for a false sense of comfort.

 

Theory Two:
Mythal/Flemeth says that she is sorry to Fen'Harel/Solas before she "dies" or becomes petrified. I first have a few thoughts on her present state of Flemeth/Mythal. I think that she may have simply entered a state where she is asleep for a large length of time, until she regains her energy or is somehow awakened.

That is my weaker theory since I don't have as much evidence to support it, but I thought I would share it.

Theory Three:

Finally, my theory on why Mythal was apologizing to Fen'Harel before she "departed". We could take it simply as her apologizing for leaving Fen'Harel as the last of his kind in Thedas at the moment, we could take it as her apologizing for all the evil tales that are spun about The Dread Wolf, or we could take it as her apologizing for needing someone bounded to her by The Well of Sorrows. If that third idea is true then it could tie into Ashe's idea with the Well's "waters" being made up of special composition, which ties into Ashe's Darkspawn theory about being subjects of something like the Well's waters.

Perhaps those who originally drink from the Well are pure, but if they fail in the task given to them by the master they are bound to...maybe they become tainted, maybe they become Darkspawn. So we could take her apology for her needing to reactivate an ancient ritual/magic that was perhaps forever barred from use ever again.

Mmhm. They already pulled a similar thing with Morrigan's romance, you know her running off and all that jazz. Her romance technically had a happy ending...it would be extremely surprising if Bioware did that again with Solas. Regardless, I foresee PW receiving a lot of angry tweets when all things are said and done. He got some for when Solas broke up with the IQ...imagine what kind of tweets he would get if Solas ends up dying or the IQ dying to help him.
