I'm putting my theory in spoilers...since you know it spoils a lot.

Theory One:

Perhaps Mythal was killed by a Forgotten One and in order to prevent mass war between both sets of Gods*which would destroy Thedas, the Veil, The Fade, etc*, Solas locked them all away so everyone and everything could be protected. This would change the whole story around of Fen'Harel and paint him as the anti-hero. The Dalish are wrong about a great many things, and I think this is just one more discrepancy they have construed for a false sense of comfort.

 

Theory Two:
Mythal/Flemeth says that she is sorry to Fen'Harel/Solas before she "dies" or becomes petrified. I first have a few thoughts on her present state of Flemeth/Mythal. I think that she may have simply entered a state where she is asleep for a large length of time, until she regains her energy or is somehow awakened.

That is my weaker theory since I don't have as much evidence to support it, but I thought I would share it.

Theory Three:

Finally, my theory on why Mythal was apologizing to Fen'Harel before she "departed". We could take it simply as her apologizing for leaving Fen'Harel as the last of his kind in Thedas at the moment, we could take it as her apologizing for all the evil tales that are spun about The Dread Wolf, or we could take it as her apologizing for needing someone bounded to her by The Well of Sorrows. If that third idea is true then it could tie into Ashe's idea with the Well's "waters" being made up of special composition, which ties into Ashe's Darkspawn theory about being subjects of something like the Well's waters.

Perhaps those who originally drink from the Well are pure, but if they fail in the task given to them by the master they are bound to...maybe they become tainted, maybe they become Darkspawn. So we could take her apology for her needing to reactivate an ancient ritual/magic that was perhaps forever barred from use ever again.

I am really torn on that. I still think that Flemeth/Mythal was pretty determined to give Mythal's essence to Morrigan. Also when I drank from the well she said she had no plans of using my Quizzy... for now. I am certain this decision will backfire. I wonder if it's possible that Flemeth sacrificed herself but released Mythal to the Mirror.

Siiiiigh. I hate this game even more now.  It's stealing my friend and writing buddy. We used to meet almost every night just for chats and to write together. Now she disappears for days at a time... I know she's playing DAI because I see it on xbox live lol I'm left here sitting in my living room marathoning Star Trek: TNG

In other news I have finished my second pt. I don't know how are you guys going through this game so fast. I get so distracted that my plan to close the deal in 50 hours got derailed to 90 and now I have pretty much spent 260 hours playing DAI. Feeling exhausted. Anyway, I am pretty smitten with Solas' romance (totally different dynamic), but I found I love my Dalish quizzy soo much. She might end up my canon

Yeah, he's very "respecting the chain of command' throughout the game. It's nice to hear "I was hoping you'd stop by" though. I get the feeling he would if there had been more post game content. If he's comfortable enough to tell you how lovely you look then a pet name can't be far behind.  

 

Also, evidence of LI's visiting your suite would be amazing in DLC.

I don't know who my canon IQ is going to be. On one hand I would choose Solas for the plot reasons and I also enjoyed his romance, but I also adored Cassandra's romance, and the same for Cullen's romance. I have never had this problem before, lol!

 

If Solas was romanced I would like the IQ to die in two ways, either through betrayal or through her sacrificing herself. If she was betrayed then I would want Solas to say kiss her and then through that kiss, he is able to drawl her essence into him and perhaps take the powers of the anchor.

 

Sadly I have not seen the Jade Empire endings. I have heard of the Jade Empire, but I never watched it or played it...if it is a game? What is it about?

Yessss, finally get to romance Cullen post Perseverance after Abyss.

 

Subtle differences in dialogue everywhere (even in *special mage* option "Could you care for a mage"). But the good thing is, I also get to choose pink heart option at perseverance & post-perseverance cutscene at the battlement, even before starting the romance. There's slight difference in this in post-perseverance cutscene, the quizzy literally tells Cullen that she is still interested in him, "seriously". If Cullen is already romanced she'll say "still like him" "even after" something like that.

 

I love how things are said (by my quizzy, by Cullen) much more this way, actually much better than starting the romance before perseverance. They are very self-conscious now, both of them (my inquisitor is a Dalish Mage).

 

And here's one example that we talked about a few days ago... (finally there are more differences but I don't play with subtitle so...)

You play as the student of Master Li in a little village at a martial arts school, you were orphaned as a baby and Master Li rescued you, then sh*t hits the fan and stuff happens. Just dropping by to say hi!  (wow, I can tell work has started back again, since I always have to read thru 20 pages to catch up!!!).

 

Loving the quizzie pics...MelissaGT, your quizzies are GORGEOUS!!!  I tried to make good brown eyes for my male warrior Marcus, but yours a are amazing!  (am I seeing a grey undertone there?...,maybe that' the key!).

So...Cullen is a cat-person in my playthroughs...

 

Awww, thank you! I do like deep brown eyes where you can look into them and see different colors (could ya tell I must have brown eyes? LOL).

 

Raven's are actually red on the inner iris and a very dark orange on the outer iris to get a nice rich brown. I imagine Cullen looks into them and sees a fire, which fits her perfectly since she's a fireball n' all. 

 

Ravenna's are a nice hazel - brown outer iris with green inner iris. 

 

Rhiannon's were the hardest. I wanted something cold, but still mysterious and plain blue wasn't enough. Her eyes are actually a very dark brown base (towards the left of the eye color scale) with a very dark blue outer iris. Depending on the light, her eyes can look brown, or grey, or blue. I'm totally loving how they turned out. 

 

And yes, for me, Cullen is totally a cat person. 

 

I've personally raised three separate litters of kittens from about one week of age with a bottle. My mother works at a veterinary clinic so I am one of their "go to" people for orphaned kittens. Anyways, I imagine all my quizzies having a soft spot for orphaned animals and Cullen will often find them with some sort of fuzzball found on their travels.

I would want the IQ to has the option to die, like Zarro said. Either by betrayal, either by sacrifice. I tend to prefer sacrifice however...

Does any of you understand really what happened to Andruil & the Void??? Why the path to VOid must be forgotten? And wait, Solas did erase Cole's memory when he comes near discovering Solas' secret??? This happen in banter? No one commented???

 

Oh I don't mind if you spoil it I have still played plenty of games that were spoiled for me, the ME series was spoiled for me and I still enjoyed.

1. Hero get orphaned at a very young age. Parents killed by Enemy.

2. Hero got saved & raised by a legendary Kung Fu Master who raised Hero as his/her son/daughter & taught Hero Kung Fu.

(3. Optional: Kung Fu Master has a girl, and Hero fall in love with this girl & this is forbidden love since they are supposed to be "sibling".)

4. Enemy killed Kung Fu Master, and before dying Kung Fu Master transferred his/her "power" to Hero.

5. Hero swore to kill Enemy.

6. Hero track enemy with some friends, or probably with Kung Fu Master's girl

7. Friends got killed, Kung Fu Master's girl got kidnapped

8. Hero, after an epic battle of  martial arts & shouting at each other for 20 minutes (seriously), will defeat Enemy

9. Enemy, before dying, will reveal a secret connection between him/her to hero. Like that he/she is actually the uncle/aunt/father's best friend or things like that.

 

All these, just add flying & ability to throw laser from hand & you've made a Classical Kung Fu story. And oh, they spend more times talking & shouting at each other in battles, instead of really doing the kicking & hitting stuffs.

I would prefer to see the IQ sacrifice herself, but seeing Solas betray the one he loves the most just so he can further his ambitions...well that would pretty intense.

 

I know Andruil went crazy...quite a few times, but other than that I don't really know the story. The Solas thread would have an answer for that pretty quickly...I would think. And I think Cole always knew who Solas was, but that piece of banter you are talking about is where Cole is trying to heal Solas and the IQ after their breakup. Which Cole then almost reveals Solas' past...so Solas makes him be quite, then at the ending he makes him forget about who he truly was so the IQ won't know.

I also found it odd that no one commented.

 

Mmhm, but with Bioware who knows what they did with this game.
